But the Templar Knights then surrounded him. The Celestial Horse Knight Commander said, "Apologies, Mr. Constantine. It was Jill who told you to leave; I made no such guarantee."

Baron sighed. He knew things would turn out this way. And to make matters worse, his Illusory Cocoon was still on cooldown.

He touched the Lucky Goddess Necklace at his waist. 'Should I reveal my Blood Faction abilities now?'

The question was, if he revealed his dual-class abilities, would it make him temporarily safe, or even more endangered, given the treacherous and unpredictable nature of these people from the Inner Side?

"Look! What's that!"

At the height of the tense standoff, someone suddenly pointed at the sky.

All eyes followed his finger. A long, silvery-white arc, like a shooting star, slammed viciously into the crack in the barrier high above—the very crack that had been blasted open by the beams of Spiritual Power from Baron and Jill!

A huge impact exploded outward from the center of the silver meteor! Countless silver cracks spread visibly across the transparent barrier, like veins of lightning grinding through the clouds. A sound like a distant iceberg calving echoed from the sky. After a few seconds, the barrier that had sealed the entirety of Berthelili violently shattered.

The transparent shards of the barrier reflected the red moonlight, showering down from the sky like rain. However, because they were formed from Spiritual Power, they silently dissolved into nothingness before ever reaching the ground.

"The Barrier is broken! The Barrier is broken! Silver Lion Wilder shattered it! He saved us!"

People in the auction house also saw the scene unfold in the sky. Instantly realizing what had happened, they pulled out their Magic Cards or other alchemy items used to contact their families and organizations, and began calling for support.

But they soon discovered something was wrong. None of their calls for help successfully connected to their families or organizations.

They panicked.

Just then, an Intern Wizard from the London Magic Academy with some expertise in Alchemy Barriers stepped forward to explain. He told them that after an Alchemy Barrier shatters, it creates a period of elemental turbulence. The duration of this turbulence varies depending on the barrier's original range and intensity.

Judging by the range and intensity of the Alchemy Barrier over Bertelili Town, the turbulence would last for roughly ten minutes.

"Ten minutes? By then, Traitor's Cliff will have already been destroyed by the Mad Dragon that broke its seal!"

After hearing the Intern Wizard's explanation, the Law Enforcers immediately understood that they couldn't expect any reinforcements for now.

But there was a Dragon Tide in the distance, Traitor's Cliff nearby, and right in front of them was this Dragon Knight who had just been partially exonerated and had killed Roy… It left the Law Enforcers momentarily at a loss, unsure whether to advance or retreat.

At that moment, Elder Pence suddenly announced, "Whoever kills Baron Constantin, the Hestia Family will grant them a Wizard Law!"

A Wizard Law! The most expensive and rarest Lawbook in the Inner Side! Possessing it meant having a chance to reach the rank of Gold!

Upon hearing this, the Law Enforcers were instantly swayed.

The more decisive among them immediately drew their blades and joined the hunt for Baron Constantin.

Others hesitated or remained on the sidelines. They felt that given the hatred Elder Pence had shown for Baron Constantin, the rewards wouldn't stop there.

Although calling a Wizard's Lawbook "not much" was an understatement, the person they had to face was the infamous Dragon Knight, Baron Constantin—the monster from the Plains!

This was especially true since Baron Constantin had, right before their eyes, defeated the Wild Boar Knight and the Celestial Horse Knight Commander in succession. He had also beaten his own fiancé, Jill Hestia—a man destined to reach the rank of Silver. And all this was after he had already killed Roy.

Furthermore, even after so many battles, Baron Constantin remained perfectly composed, his aura steady, with no signs of his Spiritual Power being in disarray. They came to this conclusion by comparing him to Jill Hestia's obviously taxed state.

Given all this, the Law Enforcers' belief that Baron Constantin was a monster was more deeply ingrained than ever.

'The man is a monster, and you think you can just send us after him with a single Wizard Law?'

'He has to offer more!'

Elder Pence, of course, understood what they were thinking. He immediately struck while the iron was hot. "Two positions as Knights in the Griffin Knight Order!"

And so, with the exception of a few who weren't short on money or who didn't want to get dragged into the mess, the rest of the Law Enforcers closed in and surrounded Baron.

"Jill, your promise seems to be worth less than a whore's."

Baron taunted, looking at Jill Hestia's livid face.

In truth, however, he had never intended to rely on his fiancé's promise. Whether Jill chose to honor it was Jill's business; whether his teammates chose not to was their own affair.

The only reason he had agreed to the duel was to stall for time.

It just hadn't been long enough.

Baron sighed, the golden light in his pupils beginning to dim.

A heartbeat was growing faster and faster. The sense of foreboding danger intensified, like the tolling of a copper bell in an ancient temple. 'The Witch must be at her wit's end.'

Baron's feelings toward the Witch were complicated. This was especially true after hearing Roy's explanation, which had placed her in a gray area between friend and foe, good and evil.

But considering the Blood Covenant, and the high probability that his own life was tied to hers, he couldn't just stand by and do nothing.

A knife quietly sliced open his palm. Blood flowed freely, splashing onto the ground like crimson blossoms.
