Jill nodded. Then he looked at the Griffin Knights surrounding Baron and ordered, "Take him down."

The prepared Griffin Knights swarmed forward, but Baron, holding two swords down by his sides, suddenly hurled them at the group. Two Knights leaped out to parry the blades. Though startled by the immense force transmitted through the swords, they managed to block them nonetheless.

The Knights following behind continued to assume their prior charge formation. They were just about to grab their target when he suddenly pulled three or four objects that looked like hand grenades from his coat and threw them at the Knights and at Jill, who was hovering in the air.

"Ignore it! It's a diversion!" Aile said.

But the moment the words left his mouth, his expression froze. His vision went completely white—a blinding white. All he could hear were the gasps of the guests and the sound of some kind of gunpowder exploding.

He came to his senses and immediately roared, "It's an Alchemy Flash Bomb! That guy might be from Westminster Bank!"

The normal flash-bang grenades from the Outer Side, made with magnesium and aluminum powder, were useless against Law Enforcers. They only needed to channel Spiritual Power into their eyes to make out silhouettes within the flash.

But a flash bomb that could completely block their vision… Due to certain design patent laws, only agents from Westminster Bank were qualified to carry such blinding Alchemy Flash Bombs.

By the time the white light faded, Baron was nowhere to be seen.

He looked to the sky and was suddenly taken aback. Jill was injured. To be precise, there was a large, bloody hole in each of the Griffin wings he had manifested on his back using [Contractual Assimilation].

Jill was a Bronze Tier Griffin Knight. Griffins were Spirit Beasts with exceptionally sharp eyesight, able to spot their prey from thousands of feet in the air, day or night.

Therefore, Jill's pupils had been correspondingly enhanced when he was Promoted, so the so-called Alchemy Flash Bomb had no effect on him.

Thus, the moment the Alchemy Flash Bomb detonated, he had used Promise to attack Baron.

However, he hadn't expected Baron to suddenly pull out an oversized revolver of an unrecognizable model and fire six shots at him. The shots shattered the six Griffin Feathers he had launched, and two of the bullets, carrying immense kinetic energy, then pierced through his wings.

The sound of gunpowder exploding that Aile had heard was the sound of that guy's Alchemy Bullets detonating on Jill's wings.

Jill descended from the sky, his wings dissipating. "That guy might be an agent from Westminster, which means there's likely only one reason he's here."

Aile immediately said to a Knight beside him, "Get the auction manager over here. Have him check all undelivered lots, and focus on the Taboo Items."

'Once an agent from Westminster gets away, catching them is harder than catching a rabbit on a hill. It's not worth the effort. We can just take the evidence we've recorded so far and settle the score with Westminster Bank later.'

Jill's pupils suddenly turned the pale gray of a Griffin's. He looked out the broken window and said,

"My Griffin sees the Dragon Tide is almost here. Aile, you stay and guard this place. I'll take some of the Griffin Knights to provide support."

As a Bronze Tier Griffin Knight, Jill could establish a simple connection with some Griffins to gather information, though it wasn't as practical as a Servant Demon that could share its vision.

But Aile was silent for a moment, then suddenly clenched his fist and said, "No. I'm going to the Griffin Knight Order's encampment. Baron Constantin is there. I can't abandon my comrades like a coward."

The companion of Aile's who had brought the news also stepped forward. "Me too," he said.

Jill paused, stunned. After a moment of thought, he called over two Griffin Knights and told Aile, "These two are both Black Iron Knights. I hope they can be of help to you."

Aile nodded gratefully.

Just then, the Knight who had gone to find the auction manager returned. He wore a strange expression, as if something was wrong that he found difficult to say.

When Jill asked, the Knight replied, his tone strange, "The auction manager is missing."

He was referring to the High Priest.

If it were just the manager who had gone missing, the Knight's expression wouldn't have been so bizarre.

Aile followed up with a question and learned that not only was the auction manager missing, but all the male and female Attendants from the auction house had vanished as well.

'All the Attendants have vanished?'

The Knights exchanged glances, a chill running up their spines.

Jill and Aile frowned in unison, feeling that things were getting troublesome.

Finally, it was Jill who spoke. "The Griffin Knight Order has teams deployed for this. Two of them are holding back the Dragon Tide, and one is stationed here with me at the auction house.

But I was looking through the duty roster earlier and saw a record of another Griffin Knight team heading to the northern side of the Dracul Mountain Range ten days ago.

If I'm not mistaken, they're currently undergoing the Dragon Heart Knight Trial with Knights from the Holy Hall's other Knight Orders. It's a training exercise to select the elites from all the major Knight Orders."

He gave Aile a long, cylindrical object. "Since you're going to the Dracul Mountain Range, go there and set off this beacon. They'll see the signal and come to support you."

"And you?" Aile asked.

"Me?" Jill just smiled, a very bright smile.

He picked up the two swords from the ground, returning Aile's to him. He held his own sword and stared into the darkness as Griffin Feathers slowly circled around him. His pale gray eyes were exceptionally resolute. "I'll hold them off."

'Hold them off? Who?' Just as Aile was thinking this, he saw Jill had already shot his Griffin Feathers into the darkness.
