Chapter 473 262: Constantine's Diary

After saying this, he glanced at Elder Pence, then hastily lowered his head. "Miss Isabella, please don't misunderstand. I don't mean anything by it, I'm just a little curious… After all, the area you were assigned to search was on the other side, and the appearance of that Blood Race member was so sudden…"

As soon as he said this, the Law Enforcers present instantly understood the implication.

Daoist Nun Lucy flew into a rage. Imitating her senior and junior sisters from her sect, she planted her hands on her hips, her chest heaving as she spoke in an accent that was a bizarre mix of Eastern and Londoner:

"Don't tell me you think Isabella has ties to the Dragon Eater Association."

The Knight Commander lowered his head. "I wouldn't dare. I'm merely suspicious."

"Suspicious?" Lucy fumed. "I suspect you're the mole for the Dragon Eater Association!"

"Today, your granny here is going to call down Celestial Thunder and strike you dead, you son of a bitch!"

No one understood the gibberish coming from Daoist Nun Lucy's mouth, but they saw her take out her Duster and form a hand seal. A flash of lightning immediately lit up the sky outside the window, followed by a deafening clap of Thunderbolt.

Everyone jumped in shock. 'This Eastern Daoist Skill,' they thought, 'seems even more powerful than some Wizards' Magic.'

"Lucy."

Isabella snapped. Lucy flinched and ducked behind her, muttering under her breath, "I was just for show… The thunder outside had nothing to do with me."

She added, "The Compass is fluctuating. The reading is bad; there might be danger ahead."

Isabella froze for a fraction of a second. She whispered, "Have you seen Constantine? Where is he? Divine his fortune, good or ill."

After helping the female host out of a jam, Baron had disappeared from the auction hall along with her.

Lucy said, "I haven't seen him, and I can't divine his fate. My master told me never to scry Constantine's fortune unless I wanted to cough up some blood. He's contracted to a Pure-blood Ancient Dragon equivalent to the Golden Tier. His destiny is too powerful; the backlash would be too great."

Isabella said, "I've lost contact with my Servant Demon. It was in the direction of the thunder."

Lucy nodded. "Give me a strand of your hair. I'll use a Paperman to find it."

After taking Isabella's hair, Lucy found a corner and began to form hand seals.

Isabella, meanwhile, ordered the others to follow her instructions and begin a room-by-room, carpet search of the auction house.

Seeing Isabella ignore him and turn to leave, the Knight Commander of the Griffin Knight Order repeated himself:

"Miss Eldest, this matter is of grave importance. It would be best if you offered an explanation."

Silver Lion Wilder said, "Sad, Miss Eldest has been searching the eastern side of the auction house this whole time and has never acted alone. I can vouch for that. Your suspicion is completely unfounded."

Knight Commander Sad of the Griffin Knight Order replied, "Mr. Wilder, your testimony is not credible. Everyone knows that you and Miss Eldest are on good terms."

Silver Lion Wilder thought for a moment, then said, "I swear on my Knight's heart for Miss Isabella."

Sad was about to say more when a cold female voice suddenly drifted over from nearby:

"You want an explanation? Very well. I shall be merciful and grant you one."

Isabella stopped and looked back, her gaze as sharp as a newly honed sword.

Under that sword-like gaze, Sad unconsciously straightened his spine. He had only ever felt such scrutinizing pressure from the Hall Master and the commander of the Celestial Horse Knight Order.

Silver Lion Wilder was powerful—publicly acknowledged by the Holy Hall as the strongest of the younger generation—but even he didn't possess such a piercing gaze.

"Because you are far too foolish and weak."

But Isabella seemed to have lost all interest in even looking at him. She turned away and said, "The Blood Race member disguised as an Angel was purchased by the lady in the elegant white hat. That lady is staying in VIP Room 506."

"Knight Commander Sad, perhaps your professional standards are simply not high enough for you to notice such obvious details."

Isabella suddenly looked toward Hamilton and the members of the Van Helsing Clan beside him. "By the way, Miss Catherine's room is right next to 506. Therefore, I have reason to suspect she may also be connected to this incident with the Blood Race."

After hearing Isabella's sarcastic explanation, Sad gave a strained smile. He said nothing more, simply calling for the remaining Griffin Knights to follow Isabella's prior assignments and guard the auction house's most vulnerable windows.

'The Blood Race member is in VIP Room 506, the room of the lady in the elegant white hat…' A thought seemed to flash through Isabella's mind, but it vanished just as quickly. She said coldly:

"The rest of you, guard the main entrance to the auction house. Let no one out, not even Elder Pence."

Her gaze fell upon Elder Pence and the stunned High Priest beside him as she said coolly:

"Elder Pence, our clans are the main organizers of this auction at Traitor's Cliff. The fact that a member of the Blood Race was disguised as an 'Angel' and auctioned off on stage, and that blood was mixed into the red wine beforehand—it's all too suspicious."

"This is the only way to prevent misunderstandings. I hope you understand, Elder Pence."

She spoke of misunderstandings, but her expression remained impassive, as cold as a statue left to the elements for years.

Elder Pence smiled. "How could I not? Of course, Miss Isabella. I am more than willing to cooperate. In that case, why don't we take this opportunity to continue the search we started earlier?"

He leaned on his cane, his brows white with age, and his tone turned grim. "The Dragon Witch is still in this auction house. During the commotion with the Blood Race, we failed to investigate a number of people. We can continue by checking their identities."
