Chapter 460 - 255: KK 2

"Where’s Adam? Wasn’t he representing the Van Helsing Family at this auction?" Wilder asked.

Adam Van Helsing was a Demon Hunter of the Bronze Wolf Sect. Indeed, he was the only one who could handle this.

He then saw Gold, Kesha, and Dewey. The Law Enforcers and members of the Old Race who hadn’t been "infected," along with some from the Demon Hunter Old Blood Clans, all wore expressions that were either strange or awkward.

The most embarrassed of all were the members of the Van Helsing Family.

Wilder and the other members of the Old Race nearby who couldn’t make sense of the situation felt a sense of foreboding. They followed everyone’s gaze, and then they all witnessed the most unbelievable sight of their lives.

Adam Van Helsing of the Van Helsing Family was on all fours, a silk ribbon tied around his neck like a leash, acting like a dog for a beautiful woman!!!

The scene left everyone momentarily confused. Based on how the others were behaving, shouldn’t they have been arguing with each other?

Just then, Elder Pence suddenly appeared from the side. He cupped the hint of crimson floating in the air and, to everyone’s astonishment, placed it in his mouth.

Jill stepped forward to explain, "Elder Pence was once a Demon Hunter of the Beast Faction."

"This is the blood of the Blood Race... Depending on the dosage, this blood can influence a person’s thoughts, even drawing out their basest instincts," Elder Pence said calmly.

’Blood of the Blood Race...’ Wilder’s long brows furrowed. In Europe, the Blood Race had always been synonymous with evil and power.

Leaning on his cane, Elder Pence began to enlighten the crowd with the vast experience and knowledge befitting an Elder of an Old Blood Clan:

"Only a member of the Blood Race can control this blood... However, judging by everyone’s reactions, something must have happened to the one responsible, causing them to lose control over their own blood. As time passed, this led to the current loss of control."

Elder Pence said calmly, "It seems someone laced the special-selection Berthelili red wine for the auction well in advance. The wine is all supplied by a local Berthelili winery. The Hestia Family had people stationed around the auction house early on, yet they still managed to miss this."

Jill: "Elder Pence, you mean..."

Elder Pence snorted. "This so-called Blood Race Blood is most likely the work of the Dragon Witch... The Witch has endless tricks up her sleeve. She has probably allied with a member of the Blood Race."

’The Dragon Witch...’ A tremor of fear ran through the crowd.

"This isn’t the Dragon Witch’s style," someone refuted. It was Andy, the Dragon Demon Hunter in the wheelchair.

Wizard K said, "Then what is her style, Mr. Andy? This incident occurred the moment I announced a search of everyone present. It’s hard not to connect the two."

He smiled. "If you ask me, the Witch is probably plotting how to use this opportunity to kill every last one of us."

"If she wanted to kill you, she wouldn’t need to use poison," Andy said calmly. "I must remind you all that the Witch is a Silver Tier Wizard. If she had truly come prepared, most of you wouldn’t be able to escape. Only a select few would survive."

Wizard K’s eyes narrowed. "You were the one who won the Red Dragon Reverse Scale at the auction, Mr. Andy. I’m quite curious where you were keeping it that it could be stolen so easily."

"Perhaps the thief is a Wizard who’s very good at magic tricks," Andy said nonchalantly.

"If the red wine is the cause," Gold said, trying to defuse the tense atmosphere, "then why am I unaffected? I remember drinking some, too."

A few other Law Enforcers chimed in, agreeing. Most of them had also drunk the red wine but remained unaffected.

Elder Pence said, "Those of a high enough Tier, those with sufficiently strong Mental Power, or those who only ingested a small dose can resist or be immune to this effect."

"Then what about Adam..." Dewey looked over at Adam, who was playing the part of a dog with wild abandon. He figured the members of the Van Helsing Family present were probably so mortified, they wished they’d drunk the wine even if they hadn’t.

Before Elder Pence could answer, a few members of the Van Helsing Family spoke up. "Young Master Adam has drunk nearly thirty glasses of red wine since the start of the night."

Thirty glasses of red wine... At this point, you could say the Blood Race Blood was practically flowing through his veins. The crowd fell silent.

Dewey said, "So what do we do now? We can’t just let these people stay like this."

The eldest daughter said, "It’s simple. We find the Dragon Witch and the member of the Blood Race who’s hiding, and then we tear them to pieces."

The High Priest beside Elder Pence said, "I suspect it’s not just the Dragon Witch who’s here. The Dragon Knight, Constantine, is very likely here as well."

"And what makes you say that?" The eldest daughter raised an eyebrow, but it wasn’t her who spoke. The question came from Andy, the Dragon Demon Hunter in the wheelchair.

"Because he and the Dragon Witch are incredibly close. He was discovered in contact with her back in Outer Birmingham. Later, during the engagement banquet, a Griffin unintentionally memorized his scent and recognized it again at Ben Mountain... Although he’s only been spotted with her twice, who knows if he’s here now?"

The High Priest sneered. "If we find him here this time, we might just be able to confirm his collusion with the Dragon Witch."

The eldest daughter said icily, "Some of you stay behind and pull apart those infected by the blood. The rest of you, come with me to find the member of the Blood Race, as well as the Dragon Witch and Dragon Knight who may be present."

With that, she left with a portion of the group. Those who remained looked at each other in dismay, but ultimately, they did as she commanded.

After all, it was indeed the most suitable course of action at the moment.

Seeing that the others had left, Elder Pence called over the remaining members of the Griffin Knight Order and told them to go to the dance floor to find the Attendant and the female host he had locked onto earlier.

But the Griffin Knights went and returned, reporting that they hadn’t found the two.

’Gone?’

Elder Pence’s eyes narrowed. He already understood what was happening, but he only gave a cold sneer.

Leaning on his cane, he passed through the raucous crowd, where guards were trying to contain nobles and gentlemen who were either arguing or brawling. Some were even injured, and a few had died. He reached a windowsill in the main hall and gazed out at the full moon, now being gradually swallowed by a thick fog. A hint of crimson had faintly begun to bleed across its silvery glow.

’Everything is ready.’

......

After splitting with the Dragon Witch, Baron had been lying low. He used the opportunity to make his way to VIP Room 506, where Vivian was imprisoned. He opened the door with the key he’d gotten from Catherine and, in the spacious living room, saw the young girl still locked in a cage.

Vivian panicked the moment she saw him, her eyes filled with the wariness and fear of a young animal.

Baron soothed her in a low voice, "Don’t be afraid. I’m here to rescue you."

He then used a key to open the iron cage, which was covered in carved Alchemy Talismans.

Despite Baron’s words, Vivian was still terrified, her pristine white wings wrapped tightly around her body. It was only after Baron entered the cage, cut her chains with a knife, and gave her some slightly sweet red wine to quench her thirst.

Vivian peeked her small head out from behind her wings, her voice as soft as mist. "Why did you come to save me?"

Baron didn’t deactivate the Chain of the Imitator, as its cooldown period was far too long. He simply stroked the girl’s head. Her body went stiff for a moment, and then she instantly realized.

"You’re Mr. L!" she said, pleasantly surprised.

Baron said, "Yes. I’ve come to rescue you, Vivian."

Vivian’s expression filled with joy. The huge wings that had been shielding her body unfurled, revealing the body of a small child. This was likely her way of expressing her excitement. Her wings beat gently, and the resulting gust of wind made the hall’s candle flames flicker.

Baron covered her with a piece of clothing and lifted her into his arms in a princess carry. She wrapped her hands tightly around his shoulders, pressed her small face close to his ear, and said sadly:

"But Mr. L... you were too late. They’ve already killed my grandfather."

’Was it the Snake Spirit or the Scorpion Spirit who did it.’
