Chapter 95: Second Wave Cleared
Chapter 95: Second Wave Cleared
As soon as the Leaper zombies crossed the four hundred meter mark.
“Fire!” Deepak shouted. Hearing this, every scout on the wall locked onto them.
“BANG! BANG! BANG!”
Gunfire erupted in rapid succession.
The Leapers were fast, terrifyingly fast, their bodies coiling and launching forward in long, unnatural jumps.
But they were also fragile. The moment they entered range, bullets tore through the air and met them mid-motion.
One Leaper pushed off the ground, its body rising into the air, only for a bullet to pierce straight through its chest.
“THUD!” It dropped instantly.
Another tried to leap sideways.
“BANG!” Its head snapped back mid-air, its body spinning before crashing down.
They kept coming, jumping, climbing over each other, but the rain of bullets didn’t stop.
Deepak’s reinforced weapon roared with each shot, every bullet hitting harder, penetrating deeper. Wherever his shots landed, Leapers didn’t just fall, they were crushed into the ground.
And then Arjun started, his figure flickered across the wall, appearing at different positions in mere moments. His firing speed was even more terrifying than his movement.
“BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!”
Before one Leaper even landed, the next three were already shot down.
To others, it almost looked like multiple people firing at once, but it was just him.
A single man moved, shooting and eliminating targets with terrifying efficiency. Before the Leapers could even cross two hundred meters, they were gone, all fifteen wiped out, not a single one reaching the wall.
Meanwhile, on another side, James had already begun his hunt. The Berserkers had entered the five-hundred-meter mark, his perfect range.
His rifle roared. “BOOM!”
And at the same time, he didn’t stop eating the apple.
Each shot was stronger and accurate. Through his scope, everything felt slower. He could clearly see every Berserker’s movement, predict it, and take them down easily.
“BOOM!” A bullet tore through one Berserker’s skull mid-charge, the impact throwing its body backward as it collapsed violently.
“BOOM!” Another took a step forward, only for its head to snap back and explode under the force of the shot.
“BOOM!” One tried to zigzag. James adjusted instantly and fired. The bullet cut cleanly through its path and pierced straight through its eye.
Six Berserkers were down.
But James didn’t stop here, his breathing remained steady, his finger pulling the trigger in a measured rhythm. The AWM .50 in his hands had begun to heat up, faint smoke rising from the barrel after repeated high-powered shots.
Still, he didn’t slow down, another target was locked.
Fired. Another Berserker dropped.
—
The same scene was unfolding on the other side of the battlefield.
For Pooja, the Rot Spreader zombies were nothing more than playthings.
She stepped forward slightly, her eyes gleaming with excitement. A faint flame ignited in her palm, growing brighter, hotter.
She flicked her hand.
“WHOOSH!”
A stream of fire shot forward and struck a Rot Spreader directly. For a brief moment, nothing happened.
Then, “FWOOM!” The creature ignited.
Its bloated body caught fire instantly, flames spreading rapidly across its cracked skin. Dark fluid oozed out as it burned, fueling the fire even more.
And it didn’t stop there. The flames spread and the nearby normal zombies caught fire as well.
One after another, they began to burn, stumbling wildly as flames consumed them.
“GRAAAAHHH!!”
Their roars turned chaotic as they thrashed, colliding into each other, spreading the fire further.
Pooja, seeing this, smiled wider. Another flame formed. Another throw. Another explosion of fire.
Each attack cleared the groups of zombies, burning them, turning into moving torches before collapsing into charred remains.
Within moments, the number of Rot Spreaders dropped rapidly.
Eight… Seven… Six… Four.
Meanwhile, on another front, the Screamers were still active.
“SKREEEEEEEEE!!!”
Their high-pitched screams echoed across the battlefield, sharp and disturbing, disrupting the rhythm of the fight.
But they weren’t allowed to continue. Vikrant stepped forward, lowering his stance as energy gathered into his arm. Then he struck.
“BOOM!”
A powerful shockwave burst forward. It slammed into the Screamers, instantly disrupting them. Their bodies staggered, their screams cutting off mid-sound as the force hit them.
The moment they faltered, the shooters acted.
“BANG! BANG! BANG!”
Bullets followed immediately, each Screamer that was disrupted was shot down before it could recover.
Again, a scream began.
“SKREE—!”
“BOOM!”
Another shockwave. Another interruption. Another kill. One by one, the Screamers fell, their numbers steadily decreasing under flawless coordination.
On every side, the elites were being suppressed, controlled, and eliminated. And the second wave was already breaking apart.
Since most of the elites had already been eliminated, only the five Armored Zombies remained. Slow and heavy, but still dangerous. They moved forward steadily, ignoring the bullets hitting them. Each shot struck their hardened bodies with dull impacts, but none of them fell.
“Let’s hunt them,” Imran said, tightening his stance as his skin visibly hardened, a faint sheen forming over his body.
“Yeah… I’ve been waiting for this,” Raghav replied, cracking his knuckles as his muscles tensed and swelled with strength.
“Don’t forget me,” Neha added, her eyes narrowing as she focused on the five Armored Zombies along with the surrounding normal ones.
Without waiting, the three of them moved. They jumped down from the wall, and landed outside, facing the horde directly.
Raghav stepped forward, as the nearest Armored Zombie approached, its heavy body dragging forward with its arms raised. “GRAAAHHH—!”
Raghav didn’t care about it, he stepped in and punched.
“BOOM!”
His fist slammed into the zombie’s chest. A deep cracking sound echoed as the Armored Zombie staggered back, but didn’t fall.
Raghav grinned. “Good.”
Behind him, Imran charged forward, completely ignoring the normal zombies clawing at him. Their bites and scratches landed, but didn’t penetrate his skin. He grabbed one normal zombie by the neck and threw it aside like trash, then turned toward an Armored Zombie.
The Armored Zombie swung his arm at him, but Imran didn’t dodge.
“THUD!”
The blow landed on his body, but he didn’t move. Instead, he grabbed its arm, locked it, and held it firmly in place.
“Now!” he shouted.
Neha moved instantly, fast and precise. She circled the restrained Armored Zombie, her eyes scanning quickly until she found the weak point.
“Here!”
Raghav reacted instantly. He stepped in, raised his arm, and struck again. Hitting the exact spot. The armor cracked, and a visible fracture spread across its chest. The zombie let out a distorted roar. Before it could react, Raghav followed up with another punch.
“BOOM!”
The armor shattered, and the zombie collapsed. Around them, normal zombies continued to approach, but they were just a side dish for them.
After the first one fell, the remaining four pushed forward, their heavy bodies forcing through the chaos, ignoring bullets and trampling over the fallen.
Arjun moved like a blur across the battlefield. Everywhere a normal zombie tried to interfere, “BANG! BANG!”
It dropped. His role was clear: clear the path and give space.
Deepak also supported from above, his reinforced rifle firing in controlled bursts. “BANG! BANG! BANG!”
Each shot eliminated the normal zombies trying to swarm Raghav and Imran, preventing them from being overwhelmed.
Meanwhile, on the ground, the real clash continued.
One Armored Zombie charged toward Imran. “GRAAAHHH!!” He slammed into him, but Imran didn’t move. He grabbed its shoulder, locked it, and pulled it off balance.
At the same moment, Neha eyes already locked onto a weak spot near the neck joint. “There!”
Raghav didn’t hesitate. He stepped in, his muscles tightening, and delivered a devastating punch. “BOOM!!”
The impact landed exactly where Neha indicated. A loud crack echoed as the armor split. Before it could recover, another punch followed. “BOOM!!”
This time, the head snapped sideways violently. The body staggered, then collapsed.
Nearby, the third Armored Zombie tried to push forward through the thinning horde. Arjun cleared its surroundings instantly, and Deepak fired.
“BANG!”
The bullet struck its head, not enough to penetrate, but enough to stagger it. That moment was enough. Neha repositioned. Raghav stepped in. Imran locked its arm.
“Now!” “BOOM!!”
A combined strike landed. The armor fractured, then shattered under repeated blows. The third Armored Zombie fell.
Now only two remained.
—
At that moment, Isha opened her eyes. Her gaze was calm but sharp. She checked the time.
7:50 PM.
Only ten minutes before the next wave.
“Deepak,” she said firmly, “use the Berserk MK47. Finish them quickly. We don’t have time to waste.”
“Yes, Captain!”
Deepak immediately switched weapons. He pulled out the Berserk MK47, a heavy, reinforced assault rifle larger than standard models, its body lined with thick metal plating and enhanced internal components.
The barrel was slightly wider, designed to withstand high-impact rounds. Faint red engravings ran along its frame, glowing subtly, evidence of his Weapon Reinforcement ability.
Seeing this, Raghav, Imran, and Neha immediately stepped back. They knew what was coming.
Deepak planted his feet firmly, raised the weapon, and locked his aim.
The remaining two Armored Zombies continued advancing, unaware.
Then he fired.
“BRRRRRRRRRT!!!”
The sound was different, heavier, deeper. Each bullet tore through the air with brutal force.
The first round hit. “THUD—CRACK!!”
Unlike normal bullets, it didn’t bounce, it pierced. The reinforced round drilled straight into the zombie’s skull, breaking through the hardened armor as if it were brittle stone. The impact exploded outward, fragments of bone and armor scattering behind as the bullet exited through the back of its head.
The body jerked, then collapsed instantly.
The second one tried to step forward.
“BRRRRT!!” Another burst.
Multiple rounds hit. The first cracked the armor, the second shattered it, and the third tore straight through its head.
Its body froze mid-step, then dropped heavily to the ground. The battlefield was cleared.
Isha glanced at the time again.
7:55 PM.
Five minutes before the next wave.
