Chapter 94: Different Types Of Elite Zombies
Chapter 94: Different Types Of Elite Zombies
Both of them focused immediately, scanning the incoming wave.
Their task was clear, to identify the real threat.
How many elites are coming, which type of they are, and where they were hidden.
“It should be the same as before, one or two elites at most,” Rohit said while focusing on the advancing horde.
But suddenly, Ayesha went silent.
Her expression changed, and a faint shock appeared in her eyes as she listened more carefully.
“How… is this possible?” she murmured.
Isha immediately noticed. “What happened?”
“Captain…” Ayesha said slowly, still concentrating, “they are not one or two…”
“What do you mean, not one or two?” Isha asked, her tone sharpening.
Ayesha took a breath and said clearly, “Captain… elite zombies are coming. And they are in large numbers, nearly forty to fifty.”
“What?” This time, even Isha was visibly shocked.
“How is that possible? In just the second wave… forty to fifty elites?” she muttered.
But only for a moment. The next second, her expression hardened and her voice rose, sharp and commanding.
“James, Rohit, Ayesha, identify their positions and types immediately!”
“Yes, Captain!”
James quickly climbed to the top of the wall barrier. With his enhanced vision, his eyes scanned the battlefield, searching through the chaotic movement of the horde to pinpoint the elite zombies.
Ayesha lay flat on the ground, pressing her ear against it. She closed her eyes, focusing as she listened to the vibrations traveling through the earth, identifying the distinct movement patterns of the elites and locating their positions.
Meanwhile, Rohit fixed his gaze on the advancing wave. His eyes moved rapidly, analyzing each zombie, separating the normal ones from the elites hidden among them. With Arjun’s help, he moved along the wall, covering multiple angles to ensure nothing was missed.
After a few minutes, they regrouped.
“Captain,” James reported, pointing toward the battlefield, “there are twelve Berserker zombies and five Armored zombies.”
Isha’s gaze sharpened as she followed the direction he indicated.
Berserker Elites.
They moved wildly, far faster than normal zombies. Their bodies were more intact, with muscles twitching violently under torn skin. Their limbs jerked unnaturally, yet their speed was terrifying. Some ran in zigzag patterns, others lunged forward in sudden bursts, letting out deep, furious roars as they surged ahead of the main wave.
“RAAAAAHHHH!!”
They were the vanguard, the ones meant to break formations.
Behind them were the Armored Elites.
Their bodies were thicker and heavier. Bone-like plates had formed across their shoulders, chest, and arms, giving them crude natural armor. Bullets would not easily penetrate them. Their movements were slower, but each step felt heavy and deliberate.
Like walking tanks.
Then Rohit added, “Captain, there are eight Rot Spreader zombies. They were hidden among the normal zombies.”
He pointed toward them.
Their bodies looked bloated and swollen, leaking dark fluid from cracks in their skin. A faint toxic mist surrounded them as they moved slowly with the wave, protected by the normal zombies gathered around them.
At the same time, Ayesha pointed toward two other types of elite zombies.
One type had longer, more distorted limbs. Their legs were bent unnaturally, coiled like springs. Instead of running, they crouched, then suddenly leaped forward in long arcs, covering large distances in an instant. Some even climbed over other zombies, using the horde itself as stepping ground. These were meant to climb walls and bypass defenses.
They are Leaper zombies.
The other type had slightly larger heads, with jaws stretched wider than normal. As they moved, their mouths trembled, and then screamed.
“SKREEEEEEEEE!!!”
Their sharp screams pierced through the battlefield.
“Captain,” Ayesha reported, “there are ten Screamer zombies and fifteen Leaper zombies.”
Hearing this, Isha quickly calculated.
Twelve Berserkers.
Five Armored.
Eight Rot Spreaders.
Ten Screamers.
Fifteen Leapers.
A total of fifty elite zombies.
Her expression hardened.
Fifty elites in only the second wave, something that normally appeared in the final wave of Saturday.
Then what would happen in the next three waves? The thought sharpened her focus instead of shaking it.
Without wasting a second, she began issuing commands, one after another.
“Kavya, boost the stamina of all team leaders!”
“Got it!” Kavya responded immediately, activating her ability. A faint glow spread outward as she boosted the stamina of all the team leaders, along with Sana and Vikram.
Once everyone was enhanced.
“James, eliminate as many Berserker zombies as possible,” Isha ordered sharply.
“Yes, Captain,” James nodded.
He immediately moved, climbing to the top of the wall and stepping into a tower-like sniper position built specifically for him. It was elevated, stable, and gave him a perfect line of sight over the battlefield.
He adjusted his AWM .50, settling into his most comfortable stance.
Within seconds, his scope locked onto the Berserkers.
Seeing this, Isha nodded and shifted her focus.
“Vikrant, no Screamer zombie should pass your range. Stop them with your shockwaves, and also suppress the normal zombies around them.”
“Yes, Captain!”
Vikrant nodded and, along with his team, moved swiftly. They descended from the wall and headed toward a smaller forward tower structure.
Vikram watched carefully. Only then did he realize, that position gave Vikrant a better angle to unleash his shockwaves across a wider area.
His team spread out beside him, ready to support.
Isha observed this and gave a satisfied nod. Then she turned toward Pooja.
“Pooja, show the Rot Spreaders how mad you can be.”
Pooja’s lips curved into a dangerous smile.
“Gladly.”
She moved to her designated position on the wall, her team following closely behind, already preparing for wide-area attacks.
“Arjun, watch the walls. The moment a Leaper zombie tries to climb, intercept immediately. But it’s better to eliminate them with gunfire before they even reach the gate. Deepak, coordinate with Arjun and support him.”
“Understood!” Both of them replied together.
Arjun was already in motion, and Deepak adjusted his position, aligning his firepower to assist.
“Raghav, Imran, you two handle the Armored zombies. There are only five. Neha, support them, find openings and guide their attacks.”
“Yes, Captain!” The trio responded together as they jumped off the wall and landed in front of the gate, taking their positions.
“Rohit and Ayesha, eliminate all the normal zombies accompanying the Armored ones and keep supporting them.”
“Yes, Captain,” both Rohit and Ayesha nodded.
Isha then turned toward Sana.
“Sana, prepare for healing. Treat anyone who gets injured immediately, and keep an eye on Vikram. Kavya, you do the same.”
“Yes, Captain. We won’t let him get injured even a little,” both of them said at the same time while holding his hands.
Vikram felt like he was being treated like a child, but he didn’t say anything.
Within seconds, everyone had been assigned their roles.
Then, Isha closed her eyes. Her breathing slowed, and her presence changed. She stood completely still, as if withdrawing from the battlefield itself.
Vikram noticed immediately. “What happened? What is Aunt doing?” he asked Kavya, who had just finished boosting the stamina of the team leaders.
Kavya glanced at Isha and replied in a low voice, “Captain is gathering her power… for a stronger zombie, far more dangerous than all of these.”
Vikram frowned slightly.
“For the next wave,” she added.
Understanding flashed in his eyes. He nodded, then shifted his focus back to the battlefield as the zombies continued to advance closer.
Now, they were clearly visible.
Their physiques looked weak at first glance, but Vikram knew better. The real difference wasn’t just in appearance, it was in their stats.
Each elite type carried its own specialization. Unlike normal zombies, their attributes were not balanced; instead, they were distributed based on their roles in battle.
Vikram’s eyes sharpened as he analyzed them one by one.
