Wasteland: I Awakened A Plant System

Chapter 137: Current Territory Update

Chapter 137: Current Territory Update

Seeing the Storm Mage, Vikram felt more satisfied, while looking towards the last Mage Sprout.

This Sprout childlike body is covered in layers of bark-like texture, with shades of brown, dark green, and moss blending naturally across its skin.

Tiny cracks run along its surface, glowing faintly with warm golden light. Its eyes are a rich amber or earthy gold.

It wears armor made of overlapping leaves, roots, and hardened earth plates. The outfit looks thick and protective, with small crystal formations embedded at key points like the chest, shoulders, and knees.

On its head, a small sprout grows, fresh and green. Its hood and shoulder pieces are decorated with jagged rock formations and mineral shards.

In one hand, it holds a staff made of twisted roots and stone, with a glowing crystal at the tip. In the other, it can levitate chunks of earth or rock.

Description: A sturdy and resilient plant entity. The Earth Mage Sprout embodies the power of land, stone, and minerals. This unit specializes in battlefield control, defense, and sustained combat. Its body is formed from hardened bark, stone fragments, and crystalized earth energy, making it naturally resistant to damage.

Abilities:

• Stone Pulse — Releases a wave of earth energy that travels through the ground. Damages enemies in a straight line and slightly stuns them. Effective for disrupting advancing enemies.

• Earth Vine Bind — Summons thick, stone-infused vines and root tendrils from beneath the ground. They coil around enemies, restraining them in place for a short duration while reducing their movement speed and restricting escape.

• Crystal Shield — Generates a hardened earth barrier around itself or an ally. Absorbs incoming damage and increases defense.

• Terra Spear — Condenses earth energy into sharp stone projectiles. Launches multiple piercing attacks capable of breaking enemy defenses.

• Territory Reinforcement — Enhances the ground within the Host’s territory. Increases durability of plant units, boosts defense, and slightly improves regeneration. Turn even barren land into fertile lands.

• Territory Regeneration — When inside the Host’s territory range, the Storm Mage absorbs ambient life to gradually restore its stamina and structural durability.

Role: A defensive control-type mage that excels in stabilizing the battlefield. The Earth Mage Sprout is best used to lock enemies in place, protect allies, and reinforce territory structures. While it lacks speed, its durability and control abilities make it essential in prolonged battles and defensive scenarios.

Seeing these three new sprouts, Vikram already decided that Earth Mage Sprout will always stay in the territory, and will manage the defence of the territory.

Next he then focused on the upgraded Druid. They all have Level up to Level 10, max level, but for their advancements towards the Next Upgrade there came another single line, which was hidden till now. It was not in their panel before, even in the newly appeared Sprouts, it didn’t show them.

And looking at this, even Vikram didn’t know how to upgrade them. But in the lookwise, they all looked like 17 – 18 year old human children.

Even their skin colour started looking like humans. If the horn was not present on their head, they would completely look like humans.

Vikram after looking at his upgraded Druid, he decided both Archer Druids, Assassin Druid, Earth Mage Druid, Water Mage Druid and Healer Druid will always stay in the territory to take care of the defence.

While Ice Mage, Fire Mage, Storm Mage, Light Mage, Phantom, Guardian and Warrior Druid will be his attack force, and will always go with him.

But he also decided that mostly he will take the Guardian, Warrior and Phantom Druid, while only in some important place he will take the Mage Druids.

And since he didn’t know where to find the Ice Core, Water Core, Fire Core, Storm Core and all the others, he didn’t care about it now.

Since his plants were now nearly twice stronger of him.

After looking at them, he went to look over the Vine Sniper Tower, which were on both sides of his entrance.

The Vine Sniper Tower was also shaped like a living tree. Its base is thick and rooted deeply into the ground, with massive roots spreading outward like claws, gripping the earth to keep it perfectly stable. The trunk is formed from tightly woven vines and hardened bark, spiraling upward in a natural yet structured pattern, giving it both flexibility and strength.

With layers of interwoven vines creating circular platforms along the way. These platforms act like natural balconies, but the main sniper position is at the top, a wide, nest-like structure made of reinforced branches and thick vines, forming a secure and elevated firing point.

The outer surface is covered with small thorns and leaf clusters, giving it a slightly wild, defensive look. In some areas, faint green energy flows through the vines like veins, occasionally pulsing toward the top, where the control core is located.

Inside, the structure feels alive. The inner walls are smooth yet organic, with curved wooden pathways and vine supports forming natural railings. Small glowing nodes embedded in the walls act as vision enhancers, subtly lighting the interior and assisting with targeting.

At the very top, the sniper nest is partially enclosed by arching vines that act like natural cover, protecting the units inside while still allowing a clear line of sight in all directions. From this height, the entire surrounding territory becomes visible.

Vikram looked at the details.

Vine Sniper Tower (Purple)

Type: Structure / Long-Range Defense Plant

Daily Plant Essence Generation: +100 (per tower)

Description: A rare structure-type plant that grows into a tall, tree-like sentry tower infused with nature energy. At its core lies a living control nucleus, functioning as a support system. It serves as a fortified combat station for Archer Sprouts and other ranged units, greatly enhancing their combat effectiveness.

Capabilities:

• Provides high-elevation vision, greatly increasing detection range across the territory.

• Offers a stable firing platform for ranged units stationed inside.

• Enhances accuracy, range, projectile speed, reaction time, and targeting efficiency of stationed units.

• Integrated targeting system assists in enemy tracking and weak-point identification

• Supports multiple ranged units simultaneously, enabling continuous long-range suppression when manned.

• Does not attack independently — requires Archer Sprouts or other ranged units.

• Grants increased critical hit chance and precision when targeting weak points.

• Reinforced bark and vine structure with high durability.

• Slowly self-repairs by absorbing surrounding nutrients.

• Resistant to environmental damage and eliminates combat interference from wind, instability, and terrain disadvantages.

Special Functions:

• Target Lock System — Highlights high-priority enemies, allowing ranged units to focus fire with increased damage.

• Vision Link — Shares wide-area battlefield vision with the Host and allies.

• Silent Watch Mode — Suppresses presence, making the tower harder to detect.

• Supply Core — Provides minor stamina recovery and stability to stationed units.

• Arrow Channeling System — Enhances projectile power using stored plant energy.

Role: Long-range support and defensive stronghold. Functions as a fortified sniper nest where ranged units gain massive combat advantages, enabling precise elimination of enemies from a safe distance while maintaining full battlefield awareness.

Note: The Vine Sniper Tower cannot move once planted. However, multiple towers can form a coordinated defense network, creating overlapping vision zones and synchronized long-range attacks when manned by multiple ranged units.

Seeing that the tower Vikram was satisfied. Now, even from far, his Archer Druids and others will finish the enemies. While he also looked towards the Demonvine in the system.

Demonvine (Purple)

Type: Offensive–Defensive Perimeter Plant

Daily Plant Essence Generation: +30 (per vine)

Description: A corrupted evolution of high-tier vines infused with dark energy. Unlike Bloodvine, the Demonvine is not limited to passive defense, it actively hunts and suppresses enemies within its range. Its body appears darker, with jagged, vein-like patterns glowing faintly with ominous energy. It possesses both aggressive attack behavior and enhanced regeneration, making it one of the most dangerous perimeter plants.

Capabilities:

• Automatically detects and targets hostile entities within a wide radius

• Can bind small to large creatures with overwhelming force, restricting both movement and attack capability

• Thorn strikes inflict continuous bleeding + corruption damage, weakening enemy vitality over time

• Absorbs blood and life energy to rapidly regenerate and temporarily boost strength

• Can extend its vines outward to attack multiple targets simultaneously

• Displays semi-autonomous combat behavior, prioritizing high-threat targets

Role: Primary offensive-defensive barrier. Acts as both a frontline trap and active suppressor, capable of controlling multiple enemies while dealing sustained damage. Ideal for high-threat zones and critical entry points.

Seeing these two he was satisfied, while looking towards his Essence generation points. All Druids give him 780 Plants Essence, while the defensive vine gives him 1440 points, with the Treehouse, Aquaheart Root, Lumen Reed Seed, Warmheart Ember Moss and last two Vine Spiner Tower giving him 570 Plants Essence points. His daily points have climbed to 3210.

Seeing that, he without hesitation started the upgrade of his Treehouse.

Tall Treehouse (Gold)

Type: Special Plant Territory Structure

Grade: Gold

Status: Healthy

Level: 4

Upgradeable: Yes

Daily Plant Essence Generation: +200

Level-Up Requirement

• Daily Plant Essence Production 2500

• Treehouse Core Level Up

Structural Upgrade Requirement (Major Evolution)

• Treehouse Level 10

• Plant Essence × 10,000

• Territory Plant Count ≥ 100

Description: A highly mutated Banyan-Core Territorial Structure that has evolved beyond its original biological limitations. It functions as the central nervous system, command hub, and life-anchor of the Host’s territory.

The Treehouse is no longer merely a shelter. It is a semi-sentient plant fortress, capable of autonomous defense, environmental regulation, and large-scale plant coordination.

Territory Effects : (Effective Range: approx. 11 × 12 × 11 area via Treehouse Core Root Network)

• Plant Growth Acceleration: +20%. Growth speed increases further as Treehouse level rises.

• Mutation Enhancement: Higher probability for plants to undergo beneficial evolution.

• Environmental Concealment: Territory aura distorts visual perception and suppresses energy signatures from distant observation.

• Rainfall Dispersion Canopy: Dense upper foliage reduces impact of storms, acid rain, and snowfall accumulation.

• Soil Stabilization Root Web: Deep root network reinforces terrain structure, preventing erosion and sink collapse.

• Torrent Vine Turrets: Organic gun-like plant weapons now grow in the four directions of the third floor. Automatically generate 500 bio-energy bullets periodically. Detect hostile intent and lock onto suspicious intruders within range. Capable of rapid burst suppression fire with increased accuracy inside territory influence. Fully autonomous.

• The Lightfly Vine has merged fully with the Treehouse core. Continuous internal illumination, no fuel or resource required. The host can mentally adjust brightness and lighting zones. Retains original Lightfly functions such as minor energy attraction and night visibility enhancement. The Treehouse now possesses permanent bio-luminescent lighting.

• Warm-Heart Ember Moss (Territory Control): Now fully integrated with the Treehouse, allowing the Host to regulate entire territory temperature from 0°C to +50°C. Prevents freezing, heat damage, and provides continuous environmental comfort and stability.

• Iron-Heart Command Vines. All outer hanging vines have undergone density evolution. Vine hardness comparable to forged iron. Can be mentally controlled by the Host for grabbing, lifting objects, and binding enemies. Acting as auxiliary combat limbs.

• Aquaheart Root Network: Integrated subterranean purification plant that connects to underground water veins, capable of detecting and linking water sources, purifying contaminated groundwater, producing 11 liters of clean water daily, and distributes water across the entire territory, maintaining hydration balance, boosting plant vitality, and maintaining a root network connected to a mountain pond, ensuring long-term water security.

System Evaluation: You are now slightly more advanced than primitive forest monkeys. Congratulations.

He found that the Aquaheart Root had now disappeared and merged into the Treehouse, and also the territory’s temperature could now be easily controlled by the Treehouse.

For the next upgrade he first required the Treehouse Core level up, and for it, he required Territory Cores.

Seeing everything was updated now, he decided to check Divya and Anjali.

++++++++————-+++++++++++

This Chapters feels boring, but Treehouse was a major update, so I can’t miss it, and other territory updates and daily Essence Output was also mentioned here. And especially the Vine Sniper Tower, it was also one of the most important things.

I also wanted to give the complete details of all plants, but due to their details taking time, I didn’t want it to be put in the paid Chapters. So all the other plants’ updated details will be in the Auxiliary Chapter.

Although it made me lose a good easy Chapter, but still for the paid Chapter, it wasn’t worth it. So whoever wants to look at the details of the Upgraded Sprouts and Druids. They can read the Auxiliary Chapter after it.
