Day 158 of the Wasteland Calendar.
Yu Yuan put away the Celestial Phenomena Card he had just obtained.
He went to the Hidden Library to check this week’s news.
But a flash of golden light caught his attention.
His breath hitched slightly.
A Gold-tier card?
He hurried forward and examined it closely.
Sure enough, a card shimmering with golden light lay quietly on the display stand.
[Intelligence Card — Secret Aura] (Gold-tier)
This was the first time Yu Yuan had obtained a Gold-tier Intelligence Card.
The Secret Aura Card increased the success rate of mysterious actions.
Although it was not as practical as the Inside Information Card, it would still be of great help to Yu Yuan in his current situation.
He then checked this week’s [Global News Weekly].
The first thing he saw was an image filled with black mist, with two crimson streaks of light shining within it.
Was this the Corruption Source?
He read the article.
Just as Yu Yuan had expected.
The commotion caused by Yu Yuan’s forceful intervention in Greenfield’s Civilization War had once again alerted the concealed Corruption Source.
He had originally planned to head to the other three worlds and absorb their core energy.
But with the end of the Civilization War, the four worlds had split apart once again, thwarting the Corruption Source’s plans.
Fortunately, its target was still the Eternal Frozen Tyrant, though it was now paying closer attention to Yu Yuan as well.
Yu Yuan tapped the tabletop.
It was no good that this thing was taking a greater interest in him.
The good news was that the Corruption Source was far more interested in the Eternal Frozen Tyrant than in Yu Yuan.
There was nothing else in the report worth paying attention to.
-
Civilization Relic.
Yu Yuan looked at the Pioneering Group Soldier who had successfully completed the enhancement inside the Experimental Chamber, and finally smiled.
“The test subject’s life energy has increased significantly. Current life energy level: 78 megapascals. This meets the Silver-tier life energy standard. Experiment successful.”
At the announcement, deafening cheers erupted throughout the laboratory.
Yu Yuan, Alpha, Carmen, Jiu Feng, the other core members of the civilization, and the researchers all wore ecstatic expressions.
The mass-produced version of the [Arnold Virus-Enhanced Serum] had been successfully developed.
The Ten Thousand Nations Pact Civilization had truly entered the Silver Age.
“Leader, we can currently produce three Silver-tier enhancement serums a week. Once our technology matures further, we’ll be able to increase that number again,” Jiu Feng said excitedly.
From this day on, Silver Rank was no longer an impassable barrier. Jiu Feng had firmly grasped the key to advancement in his own hands.
After pursuing Silver-tier creatures for so long, reaching Silver-tier had become Jiu Feng’s obsession.
Though the expansion of their faction had brought him into contact with more and more Silver-tier creatures, he had always wondered when he himself would be able to break through the barrier dividing Bronze from Silver.
Now he had done it.
He had every reason to be excited, thrilled, and happy.
“You’ve worked hard!” Yu Yuan said, gently patting Jiu Feng on the shoulder.
“Silver Rank is only the beginning. It’s a milestone you’ve already conquered beneath your feet. Don’t you want to experience the splendor of Gold-tier, or even what lies beyond Gold?”
Jiu Feng’s mind cleared in an instant, and his eyes lit up.
That was right!
Silver-tier was only the middle of the Civilization Ladder. Now, the Leader’s enemies were Gold-tier beings and existences above Gold.
They had merely crossed the threshold of Silver-tier. The true challenges still lay ahead.
The excitement on Jiu Feng’s face faded, replaced by a burning fighting spirit.
“Gold-tier? Mortarian has already achieved it. It’s not impossible. Then let’s keep going… forward!”
-
When Yu Yuan opened the Ice Faith Channel again, he immediately sensed a familiar chill.
He exchanged a glance with Mona, and they both understood what the other was thinking.
The Eternal Frozen Tyrant had awakened!
“Leader?”
Yu Yuan looked at the disguise authenticity of his Frost Demon King persona, which had already reached 67%, his gaze shifting thoughtfully.
There were still 27 days until the final task deadline for the Gold-tier [Conquest Card].
“Keep going!”
.......
In a certain Extreme Cold world, the temperature had already fallen to minus one hundred degrees Celsius.
It was no less frigid than a true frozen abyss.
At the world’s pole, a cloud of blue mist slowly took shape.
The mist continually shifted its form, but the chill emanating from it, a coldness that seemed to pierce straight through the soul, was utterly pure.
“Hmm? The Frost Demon King’s aura again. That guy…”
The moment the Eternal Frozen Tyrant awakened, he sensed the Frost Demon King’s aura.
There was no need to ask. He was surely trying to seize more of the faith.
The desire to destroy steadily grew within the Eternal Frozen Tyrant.
Suddenly, his gaze fell on the space in front of him.
A phantom figure slowly materialized there.
“Eternal Frozen, you’re too impulsive. I told you before that the Frost Demon King’s territory could very well be a trap.”
“It took a lot of effort to help you slip past the Transdimensional Council’s notice and infiltrate the Civilization Ladder. But you exposed yourself so quickly, and now you’ve ended up like this.”
The phantom figure’s words were blunt.
The temperature dropped even further.
After a long silence, the Eternal Frozen Tyrant spoke slowly:
“The Frost Demon King must die. Only by completely taking control of the Ice Faith can we carry out our plan. But that guy… is very cautious.”
The phantom figure suddenly asked:
“Last time, you said you sensed the Corruption Source’s aura?”
“Yes. That scum must have discovered that I opened a passageway, and found a way to sneak across as well.”
The phantom figure seemed to be considering something. After pacing back and forth, it stopped and looked at the Eternal Frozen Tyrant.
“Can you find it?”
“Hmm?” The Eternal Frozen Tyrant looked at the phantom figure.
“You have a plan?”
The phantom figure gathered its thoughts once more, then said:
“As your threat level rises, the Transdimensional Council will surely list you as a priority target for elimination. If they discover your whereabouts, they’ll certainly throw everything they have at you. And the Frost Demon King will be key to that. He’ll definitely take part.”
“If you can locate the Corruption Source, perhaps you can kill two birds with one stone.”
The Eternal Frozen Tyrant’s thoughts stirred.
“You mean have the Transdimensional Council face off against the Corruption Source? After what happened with me, they definitely won’t hold back against it. Then I can take the Frost Demon King while they’re occupied?”
“That… might actually work!”
Seeing the Eternal Frozen Tyrant fall into thought, the phantom figure nodded slightly, knowing that the plan was more or less settled.
“I’ll leave first. Let me know when you’re ready, and I’ll help cover for you…” Its words paused briefly.
“Spread the cold to Silver Rank as soon as possible. It’s important…”
With that, the phantom figure vanished.
The Eternal Frozen Tyrant stared at the spot where it had disappeared, a thoughtful look on his face.
“Silver Rank?”
“Hmph… Looks like he’s run into trouble too! But the Corruption Source…”
