Chapter 1164: Section 1165: Awake
The battle within the rain clouds was a chaotic fray.
The Demon’s screams were endless.
As humans narrowed the scope of battle, it actually became disadvantageous against the hordes of Demons. Especially that Witch who unleashed endless Illusory Spirits, continuously oppressing the Demons’ momentum. The other Wizards, in coordination with the Illusory Spirits, began reaping and forced the Demons to retreat step by step in a short time.
Many Demons wanted to flee the rain clouds, but while easy to enter, exiting required Nitotipu’s permission.
But Nitotipu clearly had no intention of letting the Demons leave.
At this moment, Nitotipu was encircled by three human Wizards in a triangular formation: a Witch with frosty hair and fiery eyes, a dark-skinned man with the Phantom Shadow of a Black Dragon swirling behind him, and a handsome young man with golden curls.
Sinafa, Issac, and Nereus!
They didn’t launch an attack on Nitotipu; instead, they locked down every gap with a cooperative stance, intending to trap her completely in this corner.
Without laying her eyes on the three, Nitotipu let out a light chuckle, looking past them towards the summit of the distant Void Tower—
Two figures wearing masks stood opposed to each other like two towering mountains.
Aoluxiya and Monty were now less than ten meters apart. The cold wind blew, rain streaked diagonally, falling on their bodies and weaving a vast curtain of rain.
The aura from both sides kept escalating, yet neither initiated the attack.
After Nitotipu withdrew her gaze, she made no move either. Humans did not launch an attack on her, their intent very clear: they had never intended to kill her inside the rain cloud.
The surrounding battles were very chaotic, but time seemed to have frozen in the core areas of the fighting groups.
After a long while, Nitotipu raised her head, her gaze slowly sweeping over the three around her and even the other Wizards who were guarding against her from afar.
“Choosing to storm in, it seems you’re quite confident,” Nitotipu gently raised an eyebrow, the shadow from the descending umbrella concealing the mockery in her eyes. “However, you all have entered the rain clouds; do you really believe that this rain cloud only works for me alone?”
“It appears you’ve been underestimated,” Nitotipu said, looking at the umbrella in her hand, her gaze shifting.
Upon hearing this, everyone’s brows twitched violently.
Sinafa and Issac exchanged glances, both seeing unrest in the other’s eyes. By choosing to assault forcefully, they naturally placed everyone within the rain clouds, and their biggest concern had been that the umbrella would have unexpected effects.
And now, the most unsettling thing seemed to have truly occurred.
“Pitter-patter—”
The handle of the umbrella Nitotipu was holding suddenly opened a mouth, accompanied by a tongue sticking out and the sound of dripping saliva, a sinister noise emitted from it.
As the sound reached everyone’s ears.
Everyone felt a slight dizziness.
While dizziness itself was not severe, after it passed, a heavy sense of weakness rose suddenly from within their bodies.
Everyone felt as though they had sunk into a quagmire, their movements becoming sluggish.
This sudden weakening sensation was particularly impactful for those Wizards proficient in Bloodline magic, and those surrounding Nitotipu, Sinafa and Issac, were indeed of the Bloodline kind!
Moreover, this weakening seemed to be just the beginning!
Suddenly, Nitotipu tossed the umbrella into the air, where it floated above her head, opening its mouth to cry “pitter-patter” at regular intervals.
With each cry, the burden on everyone grew heavier!
In such a situation, everyone understood that the longer it dragged on, the more severe their weakening would become!
“We must resolve this quickly!” As this thought rose in Sinafa’s mind, a terrifying boom came from behind her.
Turning her head, she saw that Aoluxiya and Monty, who had been in a standoff, had finally made their move.
It’s worth mentioning that it wasn’t Monty who moved first, but Aoluxiya. With a casual toss, the painting from behind landed in the hands of the attendant flame demon, followed by Aoluxiya turning into a pale blue light and rushing toward Monty.
Monty’s movements were not slow, and as Aoluxiya rushed towards him, he did not evade. His body shone with golden light as he charged straight ahead.
The blue light and the golden light touched for an instant and then retreated, appearing effortless yet exploding with an unprecedented, terrifying boom, sending a massive amount of dust and rain flying.
“Sinafa, be careful!” Issac’s shout suddenly rang in Sinafa’s ear while she was distracted by the battle behind her. She turned around only to see that, at some unknown time, several huge tentacles had appeared behind her, their sharp barbs slashing towards her!
A ruthless light flashed in Sinafa’s eyes, and a contradictory force emerged from both of her hands, smashing fiercely at the tentacles.
For a while, explosions erupted in quick succession.
The all-encompassing battle finally erupted at that moment.
…
Cracks appeared in the dark green tail, and thick flames flickered within the fissures.
It was as if magma was about to break through the pattern and spew forth.
“Hoo—” Accompanied by a gentle breeze, the flames at the cracks were blown into the air. However, the flames soon turned into tiny sparks amidst the chaotic energy and eventually vanished without a trace.
Fafnir, now in her true form, simply treated her wounds before turning to look at Komodo.
Her tail was damaged, but Komodo hadn’t fared any better. Deep, bone-reaching wounds were present all over its body, and they were coated with a layer of Wind Energy that prevented them from healing.
“Damn it, damn it, damn it!” Komodo roared in anger.
In the ever-intensifying battle, the real fires of war were being stoked. In response to Komodo’s roars, Fafnir’s reaction was to charge straight at him.
Several rounds of entanglement ensued, but this time they did not disengage with severe injuries as before.
Because of the sudden thunderous noise in the sky, and a terrifying pressure descending from above, rivaling their own, both sides thought a third party had joined the fight. In such a situation, it was only natural to step back.
Only after Fafnir retreated did she look up with bloodshot eyes. The battle in the sky caught her attention… Were humans and demons at war again? Had Nitotipu also joined the fray? And that presence, was it from Aoluxiya?
As questions surfaced in her mind, Fafnir’s thoughts slowly cleared from the chaos, and her eyes grew more lucid.
With her thoughts back on track, Fafnir surveyed her true form, scarred with wounds, and furrowed her brows.
Memories of the previous fight flooded her mind.
“What happened to me…” Fafnir moved and reverted from her true form to human shape. She rubbed her temples, recalling her feelings during the fight with Komodo. She felt as though an explosive valve in her heart had been opened and had spiraled out of control.
Fafnir’s expression gradually darkened.
This was her first fight of such intensity since waking from her slumber, and she hadn’t expected this to happen…
Komodo had just consumed two Blood Cocoons and had unstable energy inside, making it possible for rage to cloud its thinking. But Fafnir’s situation was unlike Komodo’s. Her personality was such that even if avid for battle, she would not lose all reason.
This clearly wasn’t right.
The only reason Fafnir could think of to cause this was an injury she had sustained centuries ago.
“I had slept for centuries, thinking the injury had healed, but that bastard left a lingering trick.”
As Fafnir cursed inwardly, a blaze of fire suddenly shot towards her from straight ahead.
A breeze formed around her, and she swayed with the wind, dodging the attack.
Fafnir’s mind might have cleared, but Komodo’s had not. Turning back to look at Komodo, Fafnir faintly saw two demon shadows behind it, none other than Urdixinos and Minotaur.
Komodo had devoured these two great demons and was now under the influence of the shards of their consciousness. It seemed Komodo had forgotten its initial purpose, which was to capture Angel to resolve the issues after consuming the Blood Cocoons.
Now, it found itself trapped by its actions.
As Fafnir thought this, she suddenly paused… Wait, what was Komodo’s objective?
Angel?
