War God Long Ao
Chapter 575: Space Rift
Chapter 575: Chapter 575: Space Rift
This was just Long Ao’s nature.
"Master."
Waving a hand, Long Ao spoke with a resolute expression. "Long Fu, since I’ve chosen to avenge the Ancient Divine Dragon, I must arm myself. That’s why I have to obtain the Power of Origin."
Before Long Fu could speak, Long Ao continued, "You should know what happened with the Ancient Divine Dragon and Long Tian. If they had fused with the Power of Origin, it’s impossible to say who would have won that battle back then."
Long Fu looked as if he wanted to say something, but all he could do was sigh.
Because his master wasn’t wrong at all. The Celestial Dao became the most powerful entity in all of Heaven and Earth precisely because it had fused with the Power of Origin.
The Celestial Dao fears others fusing with the Power of Origin and surpassing it in strength, so it uses its avatars to guard the Land of Origin, severing everyone’s opportunity to fuse with the Power of Origin.
"The Celestial Dao’s strength goes without saying. If I can’t fuse with the Power of Origin, I won’t be able to get my revenge. I just can’t do it."
"Master, I know what you mean, but the Celestial Dao Avatar is guarding this place. The moment you touch the Power of Origin, the Celestial Dao will know. Even if we have a way to restrain the avatar, can you fight back against the Celestial Dao?"
Long Ao said nothing, choosing to remain silent.
Countless possibilities raced through his mind. The worst was being killed by the Celestial Dao Avatar, or the Celestial Dao itself descending.
But Long Ao was even more certain that he still had a one-percent chance. Once he successfully obtained the Power of Origin, he would have the capital to grow and eventually fight the Celestial Dao.
’Continue?’
’Give up?’
For a moment, Long Ao didn’t know what to choose; after all, opportunity and danger coexisted.
Long Ao had never been one to believe in free lunches.
"Long Fu, I want to know, where is the Power of Origin?"
"Master, have you really made up your mind?"
"You know my personality."
Nodding, Long Fu was filled with admiration, despite his worry. "Master, the Power of Origin is within the space inside this cave. As long as you can break through the space, you can get it."
Long Ao wasn’t worried about that at all. His Blood-Drinking Mad Saber was more than capable of slicing through space.
"Master, since you want to take the risk and try, we must plan this carefully."
"Long Fu, you have a plan?"
"Master, you just saw the skeletal remains of the Five-Clawed Golden Dragon. We can use them to lure away the Celestial Dao Avatar. After you obtain the Power of Origin, you must leave this place as fast as you can. If you’re even the slightest bit slow, the Celestial Dao will descend. Master, it will be nearly impossible for you to leave then."
Long Ao, of course, was perfectly clear on this point.
Long Ao didn’t dwell on these problems. Whether he succeeded would depend on skill, but also on luck.
"Long Fu, I have a question. Once I break through the space, do I devour the Power of Origin directly, or is there something else I need to do?"
"You can’t devour it directly. Master, with your current physical body and strength, you’re completely unable to devour the Power of Origin. Otherwise, there will only be one result: your body will explode and you will die."
"Then what should I do?"
"Master, let’s do this. Later, I will place a wisp of aura inside your Dantian. As long as you can guide the Power of Origin into your Dantian, I’ll have a way to temporarily contain it. As for the future, we’ll figure it out once this is done."
"Alright."
Long Ao left the Dragon Seal Space and looked at the skeletal remains of the Five-Clawed Golden Dragon before him. According to Long Fu, the Five-Clawed Golden Dragon’s Divine Spirit had already Fallen, but its body was incomparably powerful. If he could animate this body and refine it into a Corpse Slave, its power would be unimaginable.
But for now, he needed to use the Five-Clawed Golden Dragon to lure away the Celestial Dao Avatar, as this was his only chance to obtain the Power of Origin.
In the time that followed, Long Fu focused on refining the Five-Clawed Golden Dragon into a Corpse Slave while Long Ao rested and conserved his strength. The moment Long Fu succeeded would be the moment he made his move.
After three whole days, Long Fu barely managed to complete the refinement, having even used the soul of a Holy Beast.
After taking a long look around the cave, Long Ao hid himself. At that moment, the Five-Clawed Golden Dragon, which had long been Fallen, suddenly began to move and started attacking the space within the cave directly.
The Five-Clawed Golden Dragon’s own soul had not been particularly powerful, but its physical body could contend with the defense of any Giant Dragon.
The Five-Clawed Golden Dragon’s sudden attack drew a surprised grunt. Then, a figure dressed in black abruptly appeared within the cave—it was the Celestial Dao Avatar.
The Celestial Dao had many avatars guarding the various Lands of Origin, and every single Celestial Dao Avatar was incredibly powerful. According to what the Celestial Dao itself once said, each of its avatars had strength comparable to a being like Long Tian. What did that even imply?
Although the Celestial Dao might have been exaggerating, it still showed from another angle just how powerful each of its avatars was. At a minimum, it could slay a Five-Clawed Golden Dragon; otherwise, a Celestial Dao Avatar could not possibly guard this Land of Origin.
As it watched the Five-Clawed Golden Dragon relentlessly attacking the surrounding space, the Celestial Dao Avatar’s expression was frigid. It let out a cold snort and suddenly struck, forcefully suppressing the Five-Clawed Golden Dragon.
But just then, the Five-Clawed Golden Dragon stopped its attack and shot toward the tunnel instead, disappearing without a trace in the blink of an eye.
Seemingly surprised, the Celestial Dao Avatar hadn’t expected the long-Fallen Five-Clawed Golden Dragon to suddenly start attacking its surroundings for no good reason. But since its master had personally decreed for the Five-Clawed Golden Dragon to be placed here, the avatar didn’t dare hesitate. Its figure vanished in an instant.
The instant the Celestial Dao Avatar left, Long Ao’s figure appeared.
There was no time for celebration. Seizing the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, Long Ao swung the Blood-Drinking Mad Saber in his hand. This was his strongest strike, fusing all the power in his body into this one slash.
It was a strike that could shake Heaven and Earth.
Long Ao put every ounce of his strength into this slash, terrified that it wouldn’t be enough to break open the space. If he failed, he wouldn’t get a second chance. The reason was simple: if this attack couldn’t break the space, the Celestial Dao would descend instantly. If it came to that, forget about obtaining the Power of Origin; his very escape would be the biggest problem.
It was for this very reason that Long Ao unleashed the most powerful strike of his life. In an instant, the surrounding space shattered, and terrifying slivers of Space Rifts appeared.
Long Ao suddenly realized that the inside of the Space Rifts looked completely different than usual. There seemed to be something more inside them. ’Could this be the so-called Power of Origin?’
Long Ao didn’t dare touch them carelessly. He knew exactly what a Space Rift signified; never mind him, even a Divine Dao Martial Artist wouldn’t dare to touch one.
Space Rifts were the most terrifying force in all of Heaven and Earth, a power that surpassed even Thunder. They could devour anything, even a Divine Dao Martial Artist.
