Chapter 30: The World Is Starting to Correct the Plot

Ryan had clearly rushed over after hearing about the phenomenon. However, the first person he saw was not Leah. It was Victor. Then Cecilia, who stood beside Victor.

Only after that did he notice Leah at the center of the testing ground, her body surrounded by silver starlight.

Ryan’s footsteps paused slightly when he saw her. For some reason, an indescribable feeling rose from the depths of his heart, as though something that should have belonged to a predetermined trajectory was changing.

Of course, he knew nothing about the plot, much less the system. He simply instinctively felt that the Victor he saw today was completely different from the Victor of the past.

’What is he doing here?’ Victor thought inwardly, feeling a sense of irritation.

In the novel, Ryan was known to be confident and notorious for sticking his nose into matters related to others and even going as far as questioning the academy’s decisions.

It was one of the devices the author had used to advance the story. And after reading so many scenes like that in the past, he could tell what was about to happen.

Suddenly, a system notification appeared before him, jolting him out of his thoughts.

[The world’s original fate trajectory may actively attempt to correct deviations.]

Victor stared at those lines, his eyes slowly narrowing.

’So that’s why he’s here.’

He had known all along that things could not possibly continue with him being the only one changing the plot forever.

If Ryan truly was the so called "world protagonist," and if something like luck truly existed, then after Victor took away geniuses who would originally have been wasted by the plot, altered the fates of villains, and even interfered with important events ahead of schedule, the world itself would eventually react.

And in this case, the world had decided to react in the form of Ryan.

Ryan walked to the edge of the testing ground and glanced at the puppet that Leah had nearly destroyed with a single attack.

"She did that?"

Someone immediately nodded. "Yeah. She just awakened. Level 15. Hidden profession."

Ryan’s expression shifted slightly.

Level 15, yet she had crippled a Level 20 training puppet.

She was indeed powerful.

He was about to ask another question when Leah walked out of the testing ground. Then, under the gazes of several hundred people, she naturally walked behind Victor.

Seeing this, Ryan’s eyes trembled slightly as he felt an indescribable pang in his heart. He didn’t know why, but he felt as though something that was supposed to belong to him had been taken away.

That position... its meaning was far too obvious. A few minutes ago, she had even asked Victor for permission, and now this.

The instructors and everyone else weren’t dumb. This was a blatant public declaration that Leah respected Victor even more than the prestigious academy!

"She’s with you now?" Ryan asked with a complicated look in his eyes.

Victor looked at him. "Is there a problem?"

Their gazes collided in midair, and the noisy surroundings gradually quietened.

Yesterday, at the Discipline Department, the two of them had truly confronted each other for the first time.

And today, they had met again.

Ryan did not directly provoke him. He simply said calmly, "No. I’m just surprised. You seem to enjoy recruiting people lately. Who knows, you might be carrying out one of your schemes around the academy again."

Victor was known to have carried out several rebellious activities in the past that affected everyone.

Upon hearing that he had gathered all his goons recently and was even distributing high level treasures to them, Ryan suspected that the wastrel of the Ducal Alves family was up to something again.

"The last time I checked, there’s no rule that stops me from doing that." Victor smiled. "Besides, more people make things easier. Or... are you planning to interfere with that too?"

"I’m not interested." Ryan’s gaze grew slightly colder, his voice becoming deeper. "I was only concerned."

"Better. Besides, a commoner shouldn’t meddle in noble affairs too much," Victor replied, a small smile slowly appearing on his handsome face. ℯℯ𝑙.

’This bastard.’ Ryan clenched his fist, a red vein throbbing in his temple. One thing he hated most was being looked down on.

"It seems Young Master pissed him off again." Karl smirked, watching the scene unfold from the stands.

"He has figured out the right spot to hit Ryan. It works all the time." Evelyn chuckled, her eyes gleaming with anticipation.

Just when everyone thought another conflict was about to erupt between them, an instructor responsible for managing the first year assessments suddenly walked over.

"Perfect. Since you’re all here, the academy has just received a notice. This year’s first year practical screening has been moved forward."

The first year students in the surroundings immediately fell silent.

The instructor continued, "Three days from now, the academy will begin the first round of practical assessments. The location has been changed to the Magical Beast Trial Grounds. All first year students are required to participate."

At that exact moment, the system suddenly issued another notification.

[Detected premature alteration of the original plot.]

[Original First Year Practical Screening: Nine days from now.]

[Current: Three days from now.]

[Fate Correction has begun.]

Victor’s gaze became completely calm.

The assessment had been moved forward by an entire six days.

There was no way this was a coincidence.

More importantly, another notification immediately followed.

[Warning.]

[Special Red Fate Target will reappear during the First Year Practical Screening.]

[This Fate Correction may affect Host’s existing investment targets.]

[Host is advised to prepare in advance.]

Victor glanced at Leah, then at Ryan.

Finally, the corner of his lips slowly curved upward.

The world wanted to force the plot back onto its original path? Then let it try.

He wanted to see which was faster. The so called correction of fate or the speed at which he invested in his subordinates.
