Villain's Evolution: Investing in My Minions Yields Crazy Returns!
Chapter 28: The Vice Dean
In the spectator stands, Felix was there too. He was the same lightning swordsman who had defeated Leah nine consecutive times in the outdoor training ground not long ago.
Right now, his expression was extraordinarily complicated!
"How... how did she get so strong?"
It was genuinely alarming because just a few hours ago, Leah had been extremely weak, so weak that even a mundane nonprofessional could probably beat her in a fight.
Someone beside Felix could not resist looking over.
"Didn’t you tell her to change directions earlier?"
Felix: "..."
"Stop talking, will you?" Felix sneered and then shifted his gaze back to the centre of the arena. He suddenly felt as though he had been a complete clown this afternoon.
Evelyn, meanwhile, whistled, impressed by the display. "This newcomer isn’t bad."
Milo glanced at her. "You call this ’isn’t bad’?"
"What would you call it?"
"A monster." Karl added the word with complete seriousness in his voice.
Evelyn thought for a moment, then shrugged.
"Fair."
While everyone was still immersed in the shock of that attack, another group entered through the training ground entrance, quickly becoming the centre of attention.
At the front was a middle aged man dressed in silver gray instructor robes.
The emblem on his chest was completely different from that of an ordinary instructor. Three golden stars surrounded a staff.
This person was Vice Dean Albert Raven, one of the academy’s true senior figures. Since the academy head was not present, the matter had been reported to him instead.
The crowd quickly parted as Albert walked directly to the edge of the testing ground.
"What are the results?"
Instructor Roland immediately handed him a crystal board.
Albert looked at it for only several seconds before his movements stopped.
[Level: 15]
[Spirit: 71]
[Mana: 1,180]
[Number of Initial Skills: 2]
[Initial Skill Evaluation: Epic Rank or Higher]
[Profession Structure: Unknown]
Albert raised his head, looking at Leah.
"How long did the complete awakening take?"
The white haired old man answered, "Approximately three minutes from the appearance of the phenomenon until completion."
Leah shook her head. "No."
The old man paused, confused. "What?"
The girl looked toward Victor and then said seriously, "If we’re counting from when the true complete profession reconstruction began, it might have taken less than a minute."
Albert’s brows suddenly furrowed.
"Why?"
Leah did not answer right away, her mind chaotic. She did not know whether she should reveal Victor’s ability or conceal it. After all, she wanted to protect his secrets.
However, while she was lost in thought, Victor had already walked over.
"Because the original formation was incomplete."
It was only after he had spoken that Albert truly took notice of him standing not too far away.
"Victor Alves?"
"Vice Dean."
Of course, Albert recognized him at a glance.
And he knew quite a bit about him. After all, Victor had caused plenty of trouble at the academy in the past.
"Why were you there in the first place?" His tone wasn’t particularly friendly.
"I was passing by," Victor stated with a very serious face.
Cecilia: "..."
This time, the princess genuinely wanted to laugh.
He had specifically traveled four hundred meters from beneath the White Tower.
Followed Leah all the way into an abandoned research building. Then accurately found the underground laboratory, and he really said he was passing by??
Albert clearly did not believe him either.
But with the Third Princess standing beside them, he did not question him directly.
"You said the formation was incomplete. Are you saying you can understand it?"
"Not completely," Victor pointed out. "I simply noticed it was missing a type of energy. And then... I supplied it."
Victor knew the abilities he got from the system would be difficult to hide sooner or later, so instead of hiding them, he had decided to reveal a little without fully explaining how they worked.
Albert furrowed his brow, growing more interested.
He stared at him and asked, his voice carrying a trace of disbelief, "You completed a profession awakening formation that has been lost for eight hundred years?"
The surroundings fell silent again.
Until now, everyone’s attention had been focused on Leah. Only at this moment did they realize that if Leah had failed seven times before yet suddenly succeeded today, then what had changed?
Could it have been Victor?
"Don’t flatter me," Victor said dismissively once he sensed the gazes of countless people on him. "It was just luck. I happened to have what she needed, one thing led to another, and boom, it worked."
Although Albert did not continue questioning him, his gaze clearly changed.
As for Victor, he was in his own world.
Cecilia’s curse and Leah’s profession awakening had all happened within a single day... these were two events that had never occurred in the original plot.
The plot was already beginning to deviate rapidly, and the system, wherever it had come from, clearly seemed to love such changes.
[Leah Vane’s academy attention has increased significantly.]

"Leah Vane." Albert suddenly spoke, and all eyes fell on him once more. "Starting today, you will temporarily suspend your ordinary classes."
"Why?" Leah asked.
"The academy needs to reevaluate your cultivation plan. An astral profession cannot be trained along the same path as an ordinary professional."
"Additionally..." He glanced toward the puppet that had already been crippled. "Your actual combat power also needs to be reevaluated."
Leah instinctively asked, "How long will it take?"
"At least three days."
She fell silent, as if in deep thought. Just when everyone thought she was merely worried about her classes, she suddenly turned toward Victor.
"Do you want me to follow them?"
Albert: "..."
The surrounding instructors: "..."
The spectator stands: "..."
This genius who had just awakened an SSS Rank profession and was about to become one of the academy’s key cultivation targets had completely disregarded all the academy instructors, including Albert, and was asking a fellow student for permission!
This was completely unheard of! It was not only a slap to the academy’s face, but it also completely transformed the way everyone in the spectator stands looked at Victor.
