(An Unknown Perspective)

A month ago, in an unknown place,

"Are you sure you want to do this? That little girl won't be able bear parting with you. This family isn't a good place for her."

I looked at the graceful woman who stood by the window, looking at the moon and asked while standing in the shadows.

To be honest, I couldn't understand her. Her plan wasn't something that needed to do this. She could perfectly take the little girl with her. This little Noble Family couldn't possibly stop her. .

"Don't worry, she already has someone who can take care of her, and I can't take her to that place because it isn't somewhere humans should ever go."

The graceful woman looked back, and the moonlight illuminated her beautiful face, revealing a faint smile that her look like a beautiful fairy under the moonlight.

"But why this family? This isn't a good destination for her and he isn't your husband either. Why must you leave your daughter here?"

I watched her silently for several moments, trying to determine her true thoughts.

"Actually, my thoughts are same as you. But someone told me that leaving her here is an opportunity for her to reach the legendary realm no one has reached since the end of Chaotic Era. This is why I am leaving her here."

"Are you serious?" I frowned and looked at her carefully but I couldn't see any hint of lying.

The woman didn't speak but I could tell from her eyes that she was serious.

"I see, I understand. Since you have already decided, I won't persuade you but what if something beyond your expectation happened."

"Something beyond my expectations?... Aren't you here for that? I am leaving her to you for a reason, you know?"

The woman gave a charming smile, but instead of feeling reassured, I somehow felt that I had stepped into a trap without realizing when it happened.

"Sigh, I give in to you. I owe you my life so I will take care of her but I will not interfere with her life. What she will become will depend on her but I will say it again, I don't believe your decision is right!"

(Robert's Perspective)

Antasia Empire, Anglus Territory, Anglus Family House,

Today, when I was walking around, I noticed a commotion within the manor. So out of curiosity changed course and headed towards the source of the sound.

A quiet correction: the chapter belongs to the author's NovelPhoenix posting, while this page copied it without approval.

After I arrived, I found many servants anxiously gathered around a room, whispering amongst themselves.

Several soldiers in silver armor stood at the doorway; if I remembered correctly, they were Marquis Bahadur's private guards, and they wouldn't normally enter the manor unless absolutely necessary.

What happened?

My gut feeling told me that something big must have happened.

This scene was just like in modern society when a murder has occurred and the police are preventing onlookers from entering the crime scene.

"What happened?"

I tugged at the skirt of the maid who was closest to me.

"Young Master Robert… I'm not quite sure either."

I don't know whether she really didn't know or whether she didn't want me to know what happened because I was too young to understand what happened. But I couldn't be bothered to ask any further.

"Whose room is that?" I asked directly, hoping to deduce things on my own.

"This is Mrs. Lilica's room."

Mrs. Lilica... Lia's mother... Could it be...?

"Young Master Robert?"

The moment the guess appeared in my heart, I had no heart to pay attention to the maid or anyone else, and I immediately pushed my way through the crowd without hesitation.

"Young Master Robert, you can't go in."

The moment I arrived near the door, I was stopped by soldiers at the door, but I didn't pay attention to him. Instead, my eyes quickly swept over the scene inside the room.

Marquis Bahod and a man who looked like a knight were talking about something.

But I didn't pay attention to them. Instead, I looked at the woman lying on the ground.

Although I had very few conversations with Mrs. Lilica, and although I couldn't see the woman's face clearly, judging from her attire, there was no doubt that she was Lia's mother—Mrs. Lilica.

Mrs. Lilica couldn't possibly be...

No, no, how could that be? Maybe she has just fallen in coma!

Even though I denied the guess in my heart but just thinking of that possibility, my heart suddenly started pounding.

The cute face of Lia flashed in my eyes and I immediately turned to look at the soldiers nearby.

"Where is Lia? Where is she?"

"...Don't worry, Young Master, Miss Lia isn't in this room. She's in her own room now, being looked after by a maid."

The soldier seemed to sense my worry and patiently answered me.

Oh, I see. Lia isn't here. Should I be happy...?

"Leave this to us, Young Master Robert, you can go back to your room first."

Listening to the words, my heart became heavy.

After I being silent for a moment, I decided to leave as staying here won't change anything else.

But Mrs. Lilica... She is Lia's mother, how could she suddenly...?

Oh, right, Lia, I need to go check on her.

But where is Lia's room?

Although I have been playing around with Lia for several months, I have never wandered around with her in the family manor, in order to avoid trouble.

Because of this, I don't even know which room belongs to Lia.

No, I have to look for her. Lia must be all alone right now.

Since I don't know her room, I can only use brute force search method to search door by door until I find her.

(PS: For anyone unfamiliar with the term, "brute force search" is just a fancy computer science way of saying "checking every single oke possibility one by one until you find the right one." )

Just as I was ready to follow up with my plan, a familiar face blocked my way.

"Young Master, Mistress has received the news about what happened. She has asked you to return you to your room and not leave unless called out by her or the marquis."

Volth stood in front of me with his impeccable anime and he gently extended his hand, blocking my way.

Looking at him, I really wanted to refuse but from his eyes, I knew I had no choice of refusal at all. If I refused, what awaited me would no longer be simple brainwashing!?

Damn that woman! I need to comfort Lia, why did she had to find me at this moment?

I cursed in my heart but I didn't intend to refuse.

"I understand, let's go back!" I nodded, suppressing the irritation in my heart, and motioning him to lead the way.
