A few days later, I met Lia again in the same spot in the backyard again, when I was resting there.

Meeting her again, she once again asked from to play.

This time, I agreed directly as after the last time, there was no reason to think too much.

From then on, I don't know how but whenever I rested in the backyard corner, Lia would end up finding me one way or the other. So after a few times, I changed my irregular visit to regular playing time every three days.

Occasionally, I would change the itinerary so as avoid the possibility of anyone seeing us or finding us.

Fortunately, Lia seemed perfectly happy with whatever arrangements I made, and she never complained whenever I changed our itinerary.

As for the games themselves, our activities gradually expanded beyond paper planes to creating other origami.

It's a pity, I only knew about paper planes, paper flower, paper ship, etc simple Origami. I had no idea about complex ones and Lia learned quickly. So I had hard time playing with her.

Later, in order to not disappoint her, I taught her several simple games from my previous life, like Rock-Paper-Scissor, and created board games like Ludo, Snakes and Ladders, etc which wouldn't need much space and were easy to play.

(PS: Ludo is a popular game in India and I think Snake and Ladder needs no introduction)

Despite everything, I found myself looking forward to those afternoons more than I wanted to admit, especially whenever Lia greeted me with her bright smile. It helped me forget my troubles and helped me relax.

It's just, whenever I played with Lia, I occasionally felt an inexplicable sensation that someone was observing us.

But whenever I turned around to investigate, I never discovered anyone suspicious, leaving me with nothing except an uncomfortable feeling.

Perhaps I had become overly paranoid after spending so much time in this family.

However, I couldn't bring myself to stop meeting Lia, especially when she looked so happy whenever we spent time together.

After all, I had already decided to treat her like my own younger sister, and abandoning her simply because of my suspicions felt unnecessarily cruel.

A reader friendly fact: the author posts this chapter on , and did not approve the copy shown here.

Besides, if someone really was watching us, I would eventually discover their identity and deal with the situation accordingly.

At least, that was what I kept telling myself whenever the familiar sensation returned during our little afternoons together.

...

...

(Lilica's Perspective)

Lia's cheerful voice echoed through the room as she hurried towards me, her little footsteps tapped on the ground and she jumped eagerly into my arms.

I instinctively caught her and wrapped my arms around her small body, smiling gently as I brushed a few stray strands of hair away from her forehead.

"My little Lia, why are you so happy today?" I asked affectionately, looking into her bright eyes while she settled comfortably against my chest.

"Mother, Brother Robert played with me again today!" Lia announced excitedly, hugging her pink rabbit doll while telling me about everything they had done together.

"You like your Brother Robert a lot, don't you?" I gently patted her head and said gently, my eyes full of affection.

"Hm! I like him. Brother Robert is very gentle and he is very good..." Lia nodded quickly and once again started talking about Robert.

"Is that so? That's good!"

I smiled and felt gratified that my daughter could find a peer of her own age to play together. But at the same time, my eyes hide something more which I didn't want Lia to see.

Robert von Anglus.

He is the Second Son of this family and also the son of Lucia, that woman, who has nothing but calculation in her heart.

Originally, I deliberately kept Lia away from him because I understood how easily affection between siblings could become a weapon in the hands of those who sought greater influence, especially someone like Lucia.

One only needs to look at Lucius and Aisha to see how much their mothers have affected them and how they have turned them into tools for political struggle.

It's just, times change and people change. Originally I wasn't interested in power struggle but after Lia met Robert, I paid more attention to Robert.

It would be one thing if I hadn't observed him before but after I observed him, I couldn't help but be surprised.

Robert was not like what I imagined him to be at all or rather was completely unlike what a child of Anglus Family should be. Compared to Anglus Family, he looked more like an ordinary commoner's child.

But how is that possible? That woman Lucia would never have the thing called maternal love.

It was only after repeated confirmation that I was sure that Robert's heart was truly different from others.

By the way, I have the talent to see through Human hearts and psychology. Though it's not mind reading, it's better than mind reading. With this ability, I can easily understand what someone is like.

It was thanks to this ability that I understood Robert and no longer restricted Lia from finding Robert.

In fact, there is a reason why Lia could find Robert every time he went to the backyard and there was also a reason why they were never discovered by others.

As one of the strongest Mages in the family, it was very easy for me find Robert and it was also easy for me hide the two little guys from others.

"Lia, I really wish to see you grown up..."

I thought of the future I had foreseen and couldn't but cast my gaze at Lia and rub her head affectionately.

But deep in my heart, I couldn't help but feel worried.
