Chapter 174 - The Possession

Being somewhat healed, Cale got up and sat with his back against the wall.

"To... think it was this great of a deal... heh... I’ve struck gold."

[Congratulations! Because Of Your Defiance Towards The Heavens, Host Has Been Deemed As The Current ’Venerable Monarch Of The Azure Lightning’ By The Heavenly Court And Divine Will Of The Universe!]

"W-what?"

Heavenly court? Divine will? What in the fucking hell? He didn’t want to become their target this early!

’No, wait... who said I’m their target? I’m deemed as the current Azure Monarch. I doubt they’d want to kill me this quickly...’

"I hope so..." he sighed.

[Host Has Achieved Something Unprecedented!]

[Reward: Transcendent Dao Root

Description:

The Transcendent Dao Root is the strongest cultivation foundation known to exist. It transcends all other heavenly spiritual root classifications and possesses no inherent elemental limitation. Its sole purpose is to provide the cultivator with an unparalleled foundation for advancement.

Transcendent Cultivation: Cultivation speed increased by several times compared to even the highest-grade spiritual roots.

Accelerated Breakthroughs: Greatly reduces the difficulty of breaking through bottlenecks, allowing breakthroughs to be achieved several times faster.

Perfect Refinement: Spiritual energy absorbed by host is purified and refined to an exceptionally high degree, producing denser and purer spiritual power.

Boundless Affinity: Possesses exceptional compatibility with all forms of spiritual energy, allowing multiple cultivation paths and conflicting attributes to coexist without destabilizing the foundation.

Enhanced Dao Comprehension: Greatly accelerates the comprehension of Laws, Intent, Principles, and the Dao.

Foundation Stabilization: Prevents impurities and foreign energies from easily damaging or destabilizing host’s cultivation foundation.

Dao Integration: Newly comprehended Laws and cultivation principles can be seamlessly integrated into host’s existing cultivation.

Limitless Potential: Possesses no predetermined upper limit. As host’s cultivation realm increases, the Transcendent Dao Root continues to evolve alongside it.

Cultivation Adaptation: Automatically adjusts its circulation and refinement methods according to the energy and cultivation technique being practiced, allowing host to achieve maximum efficiency from virtually any cultivation method.

[Ultimate Effect: Transcendent Foundation]

Host’s cultivation foundation possesses virtually no inherent limitations. The higher host’s realm, the greater the advantages of the Transcendent Dao Root become.]

"This... is fucking crazy!"

A Transcendent level root? Was his luck actually that great? Maybe it was.

Wasn’t this an indirect way of saying that Cale could easily become a Transcendent cultivator?

He grinned wickedly.

"Hahaha... isn’t this crazy? Too crazy if I think about it."

Here he was, planning to fight the heavenly will in the next hour once more, and the heavens were rewarding him with such items. It was absurd indeed.

He got up, stretching his body lazily. Though healed on the surface, the damage from tribulation lightning was immense. He hadn’t fully recovered at all.

Who the hell could heal in just ten minutes?

Sesrir pulled him back forcefully.

"Sit down for fucks sake! Get healed up."

Cale sighed, with a grim smile.

"It’s not over... you see."

Sesir was horrified.

"It’s not over?! How! Why! Didn’t you refine the body! Look there it is!"

He pointed at the floating body a few meters away, radiating its ethereal presence.

Cale sighed, using Noxis as a clutch to walk despite his injuries.

"No, it’s not over... What I did right now was to form and create this new body on that skeleton... also making it look somewhat like me."

He sighed, looking up at the dissipating storm clouds.

"But the next step is to possess this body. And I’m not only possessing this body... right? I’m making it a kind of body through which my consciousness can shift. And my bodies can merge together with this."

He explained.

"In the scriptures, if both bodies merge, my current strength would increase by at least a few realms, while staying in the same realm outwardly. Meaning, even if I’m in Apex Stage, once I merge both bodies, I would be as strong as a Peak Great Sage Stage cultivator."

Sesir’s eyes widened in horror.

"B-but didn’t you just do all this? Wait for a few days! Heal yourself first—" Sesir shouted.

"I can’t," Cale walked ahead determinedly. "We’ve taken the inheritance. The grounds will close in a few days. And after forming the body, it needs a soul inside. Otherwise... all the hard work I put into creating a body for this skeleton would be for nothing, and it will turn back into a skeleton."

"Tsk! Kid, do you seriously have a death wish!"

Cale laughed loudly at that, the sound echoing across the mountain peak.

"Maybe I do!"

Then he saw it, the new body.

The body that emerged before Cale was almost indistinguishable from his own appearance.

At first glance, it could have been mistaken for Cale himself. Yet the longer one looked, the more apparent the differences became.

It was even more beautiful.

Its face possessed the same features as Cale’s, but they had been refined to an almost impossible degree. The proportions were flawless. The jawline sharp and elegant. The features delicately defined without appearing feminine. The skin carried an almost unreal clarity — as if it had been sculpted from starlight itself.

Though there were differences designed to serve as disguise, like the raven black hair that flowed freely down its back, smooth and lustrous like strands of ink under moonlight. A few loose strands framed the face, moving gently despite there being no wind.

The eyes remained closed.

Yet even without a soul inhabiting it, an indescribable presence radiated from the body. There was no expression, no consciousness or intent.

And yet the body itself seemed to possess a dignity that ordinary living beings could never imitate.

Its physique was slender but perfectly proportioned, with shoulders broad enough to give it a naturally imposing presence. The body appeared to have been sculpted rather than born — a masterwork of divine craftsmanship.

Of course it was sculpted! By yours truly~

Fine traces of Mana and Origin Essence constantly flowed beneath its skin, moving through its meridians in harmony with no obstruction whatsoever.

Heavenbound marks: this time of different designs — formed a tattoo of a dragon coiled around the entire torso. With two wing-like designs spreading across the back, spanning from shoulder to shoulder.

Even without a soul, the body was already absorbing the surrounding energy.

The natural Essence in the area seemed to instinctively gather toward it, drawn like moths to flame.

Tiny motes of spiritual light drifted through the air, slowly circling the body before being drawn into it.

The plants nearby became unusually vibrant. Flowers that had been wilting straightened as if touched by spring itself. Leaves trembled softly. Even the surrounding spiritual creatures became unusually quiet.

Natural spirits gathered around the body as well — some hovering around its shoulders, others drifting through its hair or circling its limbs like curious children exploring a mysterious artifact.

None dared approach too closely...

They simply remained nearby, humming softly with spiritual energy.

This was the terrifying aspect of the Astral Sovereign Body.

Cale grinned widely.

"Indeed, a worthy body for someone like me! Hahaha, my efforts didn’t go to waste."

The body itself was already a supreme vessel. Origin Essence naturally circulated through it without any external assistance.

Cale stared at the body in silence for a long moment.

He was looking at another version of himself; one that had been refined until every imperfection had been erased.

He knew his own body well enough to make a more advanced and upgraded version of it.

It was perfect in a way that his current body, despite all his enhancements, could never quite achieve.

"If I were a woman, I definitely would’ve masturbated to thi— ... no, wait, what the hell am I saying?"

His mind was going bonkers!

He shook his head to clear it, refocusing on the task ahead.

Stretching his body again, he reformed the broken array back to its original form. Each rune glowed as it was repositioned, creating the pattern necessary for the possession and merger ritual.

It was time to complete the possession.

"Ah... here we go again."
