Chapter 1713: If I Bleed, I Bleed (Magic Castle Bonus)
Villain Ch 1713. If I Bleed, I Bleed (Magic Castle Bonus)
She charged.
Fast. Reckless.
Her steps bounced across the uneven stone. She dropped her body low, kicked up a shard of tile into the air, used it to fake a jump, and slid behind it like a phantom.
Allen moved.
His sword met her in the air—again.
-Clang!
Her dagger snapped back as his blade skimmed her cheek.
Blood. Just a drop.
She froze.
He hadn’t killed her.
He marked her.
A single, perfect strike. Enough to say ‘ I could’ve ended it. But I didn’t’.
Her knees shook.
She staggered one step, then two.
Allen finally spoke, quiet and low.
“Azura.”
She looked up.
The edges of her vision swam. She tried to glare. Tried to keep the fight in her limbs.
But something cracked instead.
Not pain.
Not pride.
It was the realization.
She hadn’t closed the gap at all.
He was always this far ahead.
Even when she thought they were close.
And still—
She smiled.
A little bloody.
A little broken.
But still smiling.
Her knees wobbled, barely holding her weight. The taste of copper thick on her tongue, the pulsing sting of a cut just above her brow clouding one eye. Her hands trembled on the dagger hilts, but she didn’t let go.
She didn’t give up.
And maybe that was her mistake.
Because Allen didn’t pause.
Didn’t flinch.
Didn’t let sentiment drag him down for even a breath.
He stepped forward once—and then vanished. His body blurred in a sharp flash of motion, and she didn’t even have time to curse before—
-Clang!
The flat of his blade slammed into her side with bone-crunching force, sending her skidding across the cursed stone. She hit a broken pillar and dropped to one knee, gasping—but she got up. She always got up.
Allen was already mid-swing before she finished standing. She raised one dagger. He knocked it aside. The second he parried with the edge of his sword, twisting her wrist with a brutal snap of motion that disarmed her instantly.
And then—he struck.
Fast. Brutal.
The sword sliced through the air in a clean, fluid arc—cutting low, high, then across her torso in one savage, final flourish.
Azura’s breath hitched as the world tilted.
Her health bar evaporated.
No cinematic. No dramatic slow-mo.
Just pain. And a sharp, metallic crack as her body hit the ground.
She didn’t scream.
Didn’t cry.
She just lay there, blinking up at the broken sky, watching the cursed wind ripple above her like war banners made of fire.
Allen stood over her—silent, sword still humming. No mercy. No hesitation. No apology.
Just the blade.
Just the result.
He exhaled. A long, slow breath. The tension in his shoulders barely softened. His sword dissolved, fading into black and red pixels.
The system responded with a chime that felt too soft for the violence that had just happened.
[Winner: Allen]
The arena dimmed. The shadows retreated. And Azura, still lying in the ruins, stared up at the sky like it owed her an apology.
Her chest rose and fell with shallow breaths. Her body ached. Her vision spun. But inside?
Weirdly calm.
There was no shame. No anger. Just the lingering heat of adrenaline and the echo of realization.
So it was him.
All this time.
The Devil Emperor.
The unbeatable villain of Hell’s Gate.
Was her cousin.
The pod doors hissed open with a smooth hydraulic sigh, snapping her out of it. The chamber lights inside flickered from red to soft white.
Allen was already stepping out of his pod—quiet, unfazed, like he hadn’t just executed her with surgical precision a minute ago. His dark shirt clung to his frame, black hair slightly disheveled from the VR crown. Calm. Composed. A little too polished for someone who had just gone full monster mode.
Azura sat up with a grunt, her own pod sliding open as she blinked against the shift in lighting.
The duel dome behind them gave a soft electronic hum before powering down—Allen had only activated it for one session. The glowing neon veins along the dome’s surface dimmed, and the whole structure settled into a quiet shutdown, like a mechanical beast going back to sleep.
Now there was no simulation. No cursed arena. No code between them.
Just Azura and Allen.
Real bodies. Real sweat. Real silence.
She looked at him as she stepped out, pushing hair from her face and wiping a smudge of VR gel from her temple.
“So…” she started, voice dry. “The company offered you a contract to play the villain?”
Allen nodded once, unbothered.
Azura’s eyes narrowed slightly. “Even without knowing you were also a Goldborne?”
He shrugged. “Jordan found out eventually.”
“I see…”
She exhaled, then huffed and folded her arms. “That explains everything.”
Allen tilted his head, his usual half-amused smirk already curling at the edge of his mouth. “You look relieved.”
“I am.” Her voice came quicker than she meant it to. “At least I know now the monster I fought was you.” She hesitated. “I guess I understand why it felt impossible. Why it always felt like the system hated us.”
He said nothing.
She smiled, tight and wry. “It was just you.”
He met her gaze. Calm. Steady. “You say that like it’s comforting.”
Azura laughed once, short and sharp. “It is. I’d rather it be you than some rigged AI or admin bot with dev buffs. You… you I can make sense of.”
Allen raised an eyebrow. “That’s dangerous logic.”
She ignored that. “You’re invincible.”
“No, I’m not,” he said evenly. “If I bleed, I bleed.”
Azura tilted her head. “When have you ever bled?”
He looked at her. “Dungeons. Boss monsters. I’ve bled.”
Her arms tightened across her chest. “Some of those bosses take five guilds. Whole alliances.”
Allen shrugged. “Makes sense. Still doesn’t mean I’m untouchable.”
Her lips parted—words catching on the edge of realization. Because what he was saying was true.
It wasn’t just the power.
It was how he used it.
