Villain Extra: Rogue Reader

Chapter 103: Leonard’s Favor

Upon the suggestion made by Ray, the others were somewhat confused by his actual intention.

Of course, this was mainly the sponsors’ side who didn’t have much clue about his history.

But a few professors were quick to pick up on Ray’s intention.

’He planned on targeting the protected students in the military section.’

’If those students who harmed Belva lost the academy’s protection, it was safe to assume their lives would be in jeopardy.’

’This student really is courageous to blatantly claim that he wishes to use his favor to kill former students.’

The professors who realized the intent began to sweat profusely. They were astonished by Ray’s courage to even raise such a suggestion to begin with.

And they were positive that the principal must have understood the intent behind Ray’s suggestion.

"I can finally see why Belva was loyal to you." Contrary to getting mad, Leon chuckled heartily and glanced at Belva. "Is this why you swore loyalty to him?"

Belva avoided direct eye contact with Leonard. She was also in shock when she learned of Ray’s intention.

After all, Ray didn’t really have much of a grudge with any of the students within the academy. Even if he did, the majority was already dealt with, in both literal and figurative terms.

’He is really honoring his promise.’ Belva never anticipated that his promise wasn’t for show or deceit.

There was literally nothing that could bind Ray to actually assist in her revenge, but he still did it anyway.

That alone was more than enough for Belva to serve as his maid.

"Is that a yes or no, Principal?" Ray leaned his chin on his palm and inquired.

He had already laid out his motive and objective vividly. Belva was his people, so it was only obvious that he would look out for her.

Moreover, he didn’t want Belva to descend into the tragic history she met in the novel.

Back then, he was just a mere reader who could only endure and read whatever the author had written.

However, things had changed drastically since his transmigration to the Lord of Magic world.

He could now directly intervene and interfere with all sorts of endings that he despised.

And one of them was Belva, who clearly didn’t deserve such a tragic end.

It would be a lie to say he didn’t grow fond of her presence from taking care of his daily necessities either.

’Looks like this ill-fated destiny must come to an end sooner than I thought.’ Leon thought to himself when he was pressed on by Ray.

"Very well, I can agree to that." Leon nodded and agreed that the favor could indeed extend to that path.

Although it goes against protocol, Leon much preferred the bigger picture. The prophecy was coming, and he needed to find the destined successor.

Since those students clearly weren’t going to be the destined ones, Leon didn’t mind sacrificing them in exchange to see whether Ray was the one mentioned in the prophecy.

He was almost certain that Ray was somehow involved in the portal outbreak.

’Margaret mentioned that he was the only one who knew something was amiss. He could have been guided by the prophecy or a goddess light.’ Leon was determined to unravel this mystery.

"The Principal sure knows how to negotiate properly." Ray flashed a cold grin. He snapped his fingers and told Belva to immediately draft a contract.

"Please don’t be mistaken. It’s not that I don’t trust you, but a contract is like a basic need when making a deal." He explained.

"..."

Almost everyone in the scene was flabbergasted by Ray’s action.

Did the Principal need to go back on his words?

That was "Leonard Lawson"!

Once Leonard made a promise, he was never one to renege on it.

Even these sponsors would be grateful to even get a verbal agreement and never dare to ask for a contract to be drafted.

Yet Ray disregarded that and even made a contract to be drafted on the spot to get his signature. If that wasn’t called outrageous, then these sponsors didn’t know what else fit the category of outrageous.

Of course, Ray wouldn’t understand their thought process.

’I don’t even trust myself, so how can I trust someone else without any basis?’ He would never ever work for free. That was how one gets repeatedly taken advantage of and is treated as a pushover.

Sometime later, Belva finished drafting the contract.

Ray held a pen that Belva gave him and wrote his signature. Then with a flick of his hand, the contract flew away.

Needless to say, it relied on Belva’s mana to transfer it to Leonard.

Magic exists, but so does the law of physics. The paper contract would have just dropped to the ground unless there was an interference with mana.

Leonard glanced at the contract and simply chuckled. Others thought he might be offended, but this gesture was actually somewhat nostalgic to him.

Back when he hadn’t made his fame yet, he had also drafted and signed multiple contracts with others. It was a foundation of trust, and only those who planned on reneging or backstabbing would find a contract offensive.

Sometime later, Leonard placed his own signature, and the contract began to illuminate. The illumination signified that the contract was established and no foul play was detected.

Soon, it split into two papers. One went to Leonard, and the other went to Raymond.

"Now, can you enter the trial? I’m sure our Professor Margaret here is slowly losing her patience." Leon mused and glanced at her.

Since this event was orchestrated by Margaret, it would really displease her if someone decided to go against her wish.

Not to mention, the large screen in the center still had nothing to show because Raymond was still present.

As a fellow participant, it would naturally be ridiculous to have them see where everyone else was.

"Very well, for this favor of yours. I’m determined to win." Ray smirked and grabbed the token.

In the blink of an eye, his body was enveloped in a golden light.
