Villain Extra: Rogue Reader
Chapter 100: Entry Trial
Ray no longer held any interest in Margaret’s speech once he learned about her so-called intention.
Instead, he ordered the staff who brought their trolley cart next to him to leave all the food here.
This was a buffet, so he obviously needed to sample all the food.
The staff who heard the order were naturally in a predicament. Then they glanced around and noticed how Ray was the only student in his vicinity.
’This is a troublemaker kind. I’d better avoid it.’ They thought to themselves.
As any smart person would do, the staff nodded and left the trolley cart to the person standing next to him. It didn’t take a genius to know that the woman was probably his caretaker or someone under him with how they behaved.
Once they dropped the cart, the staff returned to where they came from.
They probably went in to retrieve another cart, but Ray’s action immediately garnered him more infamy.

Without a doubt, these points were the hatred from the other starving students who were looking forward to the food.
’Heh, good chance to farm points.’ Ray didn’t care about their perspective. The only thing he knew was that this was the perfect time to ragebait and earn more points.
"Belva, go and grab me some of the delicious food that those from the back somehow refused to get any." He crossed his legs and laughed snarkily.
Those from the back instantly felt the urge to punch him in the face.
The audacity!!!
How dare he monopolize all the food and then claim that they didn’t want it?
Was that even considered a human being?
No, that was the devil in disguise!
Little did they know, Ray was truly starving after using so many skills at once. On the surface, he appeared fine and physically fit, but the reality was that his mental concentration was a mess.
The overuse of teleportation and the constant moving for someone who was so unathletic was unreal.
Hence, he wasn’t trying to be greedy and wasting the food.
Instead, he was seriously hungry and needed to recoup his strength.
’I hate fighting.’ Ray could never understand how the other transmigrated protagonists were able to fight prolonged battles despite claiming to be a shut-in or barely doing any exercise.
This was beyond ridiculous and incomprehensible!
Did they get an unlimited stamina buff just because they got to be the protagonist?
If so, then he really was suffering a great injustice.
Does extra life not matter?
...
Scratch that... extra life would be fortunate enough to even get a 3-second timeframe in the mainstream.
’Look at him stealing food from others and even gloating about it.’ Margaret sneered inwardly. She had her lenses on him throughout and realized her plan needed a little bit of modification.
Nothing much, but it was definitely enough to create a spectacle show and more entertainment. She knew these sponsors would definitely complain once they returned unless they witnessed something great.
While the students were eating and some still waiting on theirs, Margaret continued her speech.
"I know our academy always strives for a balance between equality and respect, but that’s not always the case for certain students. To ensure absolute fairness and that only the talented could be nurtured in the superior class, we’ve designed an illusion entry trial."
The atmosphere literally descended to silence, with many gasping in shock, especially the sponsors who never expected a new welcome ceremony event.
They had thought it was just going to follow the usual protocol and that they would approach those they found talented.
"Maybe the delay was because of this entry trial."
"That would make sense. Since it’s the first time, some trouble is bound to happen."
"Mhm, now I’m excited for this entry trial. We get to see the new students’ potential first-hand."
The sponsors’ mood was lifted with this news, and the same goes for the students as well.
Their eyes practically fluttered in a determined light.
While the sponsors were eager to search for potential students to recruit, the latter knew this was their shot to earn recognition.
And to top it off, those who worried there might be repercussions from the nobles or whatever, Margaret announced.
"All students’ faces would be blurred during the entry trial, so you won’t ever know who is who. As for trying to declare your identity or status during the trial, you would automatically be disqualified. Is that clear?"
With this arrangement, the students of lesser backgrounds’ eyes lit up.
Only those students from a more noble background frowned at this arrangement.
What was the meaning of that?
Was the professor trying to demean them for being unfit for their status?
Despite their disagreement, none actually dared to voice their opinion aloud.
To do so was no different than self-admitting that they believed themselves to be inferior and needed a handicap.
’Oh, great, another one of her ’equality’ crap.’ Ray rolled his eyes.
Unfortunately, his tiny action was quickly spotted by Margaret, who couldn’t help but grin deviously.
"And because there was a special incident prior to the welcome ceremony, one student wouldn’t have their face blurred at all. He was none other than Raymond ’Ray’ Carrion, and a special word of advice. Those who managed to take him down would immediately be upgraded to Class S!"
DUN DUN DUNNNNNN!
As soon as Margaret finished her statement, almost every student shifted their sight to Ray, who was just about to take another bite of a sandwich.
"What the fuck?" Ray twitched his brows and nearly had a crash-out.
How and why in the world was he involved in her nonsense?
But then he realized this was even better. He could just lose and get assigned to Class F.
Alas, his thought process seemed to have been predicted ruthlessly by Margaret.
"Student Raymond, a word of advice. The faster you’re caught, the quicker you’ll be in Class S too. Only when you manage to survive will you be assigned to Class F." Margaret smiled sweetly.
