Village System: Blessed With the Duty of Reproduction
Chapter 130: Risha figured it out?
Creating a spirit core was not as easy as it seemed. Absorbing spirit energy was easy for Kanan, so easy that he could breathe in spirit energy to fuel his body, yet concentrating it into the center of his chest to add to his own power was as far as his talent went.
It wasn’t just him, though. All of the other Nemean Tribesmen of the Elite Squad couldn’t replicate the Typhon Tribe’s way of accumulating power within their bodies.
Thankfully, it wasn’t just them. The Typhon Tribe weren’t able to replicate the Nemean method either, leaving both parties in a bit of a dilemma.
"U-Um, Shaman Kanan, I don’t think this is working." A young girl from the Nemean Tribe said after she opened her eyes, ending her meditation.
"I’m aware," Kanan responded
A Typhon Tribesman grumbled, clearly not enjoying their peaceful meditation. "We’ve been at this for a week and have gotten nowhere. Our time would be better spent if we continued to focus on merging and refining our ways of combat, hunting, and survival knowledge."
"The knowledge mergers of our combat styles are coming along nicely. If something is already working, we don’t need to focus on it. Our attention should be on trying to figure out how to merge the way we both use spirit energy." Kanan insisted.
"Well, clearly something isn’t working." Telah sighed. "Could it be that our methods are not compatible with each other?"
Kanan shook his head. That wouldn’t make any sense. After all, both tribes use the same spirit energy, so it would only make sense for them to use the same methods of accumulating it within the body.
He did theorize that since each tribe had different roots, their methods of accumulating power would be different.
But then Telah reminded Kanan that their ancient Chief used spirit energy in a similar way to that of the Nemean Tribe, so Kanan ruled out their roots being the issue.
Thinking it was because of Lord Nemean, Kanan consulted the System, but even that told him that the spirit energy was the same and that whatever he was failing to do was not due to their ancestry or gods.
So, Kanan had to think outside of the box.
"Sorcerers, can you see the spirit flames inside our bodies?" He asked
The two women used their power to peek inside the bodies of everyone’s bodies, seeing how the spirit flame reacted to the differences in each tribe’s spirit accumulation process.
"Shaman Kanan, your spirit flame is very intense. It’s like there’s a raging, yet controlled fire circulating inside your body."
The other Sorcerer agreed, even stating that his energy felt intense and was hard to be around due to how strong he was.
"Risha had told me something very similar. Say, what does Selin’s body look like?" Kanan wondered
"Hmm. She’s like you, but her flame is smaller and weaker."
"Makes sense." Selin nodded. "Kanan is not only a shaman, but the blood of Nemean. His spirit energy would be higher than anyone else’s."
"But our spirit flames function the same way, yes?"
"Yes. All of you from the Nemean Tribe are." The sorcerer answered.
Kanan nodded his head toward Telah. "Check Telah now, and the others."
After doing so, the sorcerers informed everyone else that the spirit flames in the Typhon Tribe were concentrated toward the chest, like a heartbeat, but the flames extended toward the other parts of the body.
"It’s mostly concentrated in the chest, but the head and belly are two places where it’s concentrated the most in comparison to the other places where the flame extends."
"Besides the chest, of course." The other sorcerer added
Kanan knew what they meant, and it made sense. He wondered if this was the reason why the Typhon Tribe was able to see spirits.
The most important places in the body were located in the head, chest, and belly. Therefore, spirit energy being concentrated there more than the rest of the body would amplify what a person could do.
In theory, at least.
"But that still doesn’t answer the question of how we can’t mimic each other’s accumulation method. It just answers the question of whether our spirit energy is similar, which it is."
As everyone began pondering what to do about this predicament, Risha was seen running toward the group, her large boobs bouncing wildly, threatening to escape her top the harder she ran.
When she finally arrived in front of Kanan, a huge smile on her face, her nipple was showing, so he had to cover it up.
It was natural to see people walking around the village with tops or bottoms off; some were even naked. But for formal settings, such as this one, it was only respectful to be presentable.
"Kanan!" Risha beamed, hugging him tightly while nuzzling his chest.
"Hey, Risha. What brings you here?" He returned the hug before letting go.
"I wanted to see you. There was this dream I had where you were being chased by a lot of angry chickens. I had to make sure the chickens were okay."
Everyone tilted their heads in confusion.
"You mean if I was okay, right?" Kanan asked
"Huh? Why would I ask if you’re okay? Hehe, you’re so silly. Chickens can’t harm you. But they can feed a lot of people." She gasped. "Kanan! Where’s the chickens?!"
"Risha, you said that it was a dream."
"I did?"
"Yes."
"Oh. That explains things then. I was really worried about you."
Kanan’s brain started to hurt. "But I thought you were worried about the chickens."
"Hehe, Kanan, you’re so funny. Chickens can be scary when angry. They might poke your eye out if you’re not careful."
"A-Anyway. Thank you for checking up on me. It means a lot."
"That’s what mates are for!" She said proudly.
"Hmm? We’re not mates, though."
"Really? Then did my dream lie to me?"
"We’re mates in your dream?"
"Huh? No, why would we be mates in my dream? When I was sleeping, a whole reality was flashing in my head. Inside it, you and I were mates!"
"So a dream."
"Yes! A dream!"
Kanan liked Risha; he truly did, but each time he spoke to her, he felt as if he were being factory reset. Though he did like that quirkiness in her. It made things more interesting.
"Well, maybe that dream will be a reality someday. For now, though, I have to figure out how to merge our tribes spirit accumulation method to make us stronger. I’ll catch up with you later, okay?"
Risha beamed. "Yes! But...I don’t see why you would try to accumulate spirit energy in your state."
"Oh? And why is that?"
"Well...you’re full of it!" She ran off.
Kanan was so confused. "W-What?"
"Hahahahahaha! Girl trouble?" Selin bellowed with laughter, smacking Kanan on the back.
"That girl confuses me more and more every day."
Telah walked up to Kanan while smiling at Risha, who was still running away. "I’ve never seen Risha so happy before. She really likes you, Kanan."
"I have a lot of admirers."
"But this is different."
The other Typhon Tribesmen agreed.
"But she said I’m full of it. Isn’t that like...an insult?"
"I don’t think Risha knows how to insult people. Though, her truthful words might feel that way to some people."
Kanan didn’t understand how he could be full of it. All he said was that he was trying to merge spirit accumulation methods. Was he really an idiot for trying? Did the spirit tell her something that he wasn’t aware of?
Then it clicked.
"Ohhhhhhhhhhh! I’m so stupid!"
"That’s what Risha called you." Selin chuckled
"No, no. She said that I’m ’full of it.’ As in I’m full of spirit energy! To replicate each other’s methods, we need to rid ourselves of the existing spirit energy in our bodies! It’s like trying to fill up a full cup of water! I can’t believe Risha figured that out."
