"Ohhh god! It’s happening! It’s happening! What should I do? S-Should I help? I could probably help ease the pain with my ability, right? No, no, I know what I can do! I will–"

"Kanan." Nala put a hand on Kanan’s shoulder, smiling as she looked at him. "Calm down, okay? Viola and Glena are going to be fine. Yala is taking special care of them."

"I-I know. But...I just want them to be okay."

"You’re only going to be hurting yourself if you keep worrying like that, Kanan. Take a deep breath and wait for the good news."

"Yes." He nodded. "You’re right. I shall do just that."

Around a week after announcing that he would be the one to go to the Helsik Tribe, Kanan returned home and told Viola and Glena about his relationship with Omula. Glena was ecstatic while Viola smiled smugly, telling him that it was about time.

Together, they ate, talking about the current situation of the village and things they liked, disliked, and their favorite mating position.

Then it happened. A few days later, Viola had gotten up to get something to eat, rubbing her belly as she hummed when her water broke.

"U-Uh, Kanan!"

Kanan rushed into the room she was in, nearly slamming against the wall as he couldn’t stop how fast he was going.

"You called? Do you need something?"

"I-I think I’m about to give birth."

It took a while for it to click with Kanan, but once it did. He began to panic.

"R-Really? A-Are you sure?" Then he saw the puddle of water underneath her feet. "Ooohhh shit!" Kanan made footstools of spirit energy under her feet and flew her to Yala’s home.

When arriving, he frantically knocked on her door until Yala answered

Opening the door, Yala didn’t have a top on and was yawning while rubbing her sleepy eyes. "Kanan? Why are you knocking so hard and loud? It’s still early in the morning."

"V-Vioala is going to give birth soon! Her water broke!"

"Follow me!"

They rushed to her healing hut and gently placed her on one of the floor beds.

"Kanan, inform the council of what’s happening. I have to get my staff. Viola, don’t worry, I’ll be back soon, okay?"

"Y-Yeah, no rush. I’ll just lie here and rest my eyes. Phew."

Kanan had never moved so fast in his life before. He informed every Elder, word spreading so fast that even the populace learned what was transpiring.

When they returned to the hut, Yala was already there with her staff, helping Viola.

"I’ll be right back. I have to tell Glena what’s going on."

"Hurry back." Telah whispererd.

"I will."

Kanan rushed back to his house, loudly opening the door only to see Glena slightly hunched over, holding her belly.

"K-Kanan." She said nervously

He stood there in shock, watching water drip down Glena’s legs. "No way."

---

After getting Glena to the healing hut, Kanan started pacing around, not knowing what to do until Nala calmed him down.

"Hold on, why are you guys even here? I was so in shock that I didn’t even question Healer Yala telling me to call you guys."

Elder Lars cleared his throat, smiling as he began to speak. "Chief Solan informed us to be there for the birth of your children. After all, you are of the blood of Nemean. This means that your children will be special as well. It is only natural that we are present at the birth of your children."

"That’s right." Elder Trena nodded. "You are producing the future of the village, Kanan. One day, in the far future, everyone will have the blood of Nemean in their veins, making our people stronger than ever. It is an honor to see the first generation of said future."

Understanding their reasoning, Kanan decided not to pry any further. He knew that the village saw him in another light, as some sort of demigod, which he believed he was far from being, but he didn’t understand the degree to which his people held him until today.

This was evident by the fact that the entire village was standing outside the healing hut waiting for the good news.

People spoke about how they couldn’t wait to see Kanan’s children, learn their names, and see them grow up. They talked about how ever since Kanan had become the Shaman, their village had done nothing but prosper.

Even the women pregnant with Kanan’s children were present, and they were being swarmed by everyone, being asked how it felt to bear the Shaman’s children, or how amazing Kanan was at mating.

They were being polite, though, not getting too close to the women. After all, they were carrying the blood of their God, so it was only natural that the women who were bearing Kanan’s children got respect as well.

Hours and hours went by, the cries of Viola and Glena making Kanan extremely worried. He didn’t like hearing them like that, didn’t like hearing them in pain. It made him wish that he had an ability that would allow for safe and painless childbirth experiences.

He only found solace when the system told him that, due to his blood, every woman who would give birth to his children would do so safely, though they still had to go through the pain of having the child.

More hours went by, and Kanan’s eyes were so dry that it hurt to even blink, but the moment he heard those two beautiful, soft, gentle screams, his fatigue melted, and joy riddled his face.

Kanan wouldn’t dare barge into the room, not before giving permission by Yala, but simply hearing his children cry made his heart flutter with happiness.

"Phew." Yala stepped out of the room, wiping sweat from her face. She took a deep breath, then smiled at Kanan. "Both deliveries were successful. Viola and Glena are going to be okay."

"Ohh, thank Nemean!" Kanan sighed in relief. He knew they were fine, but hearing it from Yala made him feel better.

"Go on, Kanan. Go meet your children."
