Chapter 1196: Find the Descendant
Chapter 1196: Find the Descendant
There was absolute silence in the room as the uncomfortable truth descended upon all.
The Crown Prince could not imagine his own children procreating with his mother. This was too much despite the clan having a history of incestous relationships.
"...mother... there is one thing I wish to know." The Princess broke the silence and turned to the Queen.
"What is it?"
"What exactly is our clan’s goal? Why do we exist? What is our purpose? Surely the Upper Realm did not send the founding father to just have children and continued the Asura bloodline, right?" The Princess asked.
The Queen nodded her head. "Every generation’s heir is taught the true purpose which the founding father left behind. In our case, His Majesty knows of it. However, before he could teach it to your brother, he went away and hasn’t returned since."
The Princess clutched her forehead while the Crown Prince rubbed his temples.
After a while, the Princess said, "Mother, I just thought of something. It might be audacious of me and might even sound blasphemous, but do you want to hear it?"
"Yes?"
The Princess took a deep breath and continued, "The founding father was sent by the main clan from the Upper Realm. They might have some goals which we are supposed to achieve. Although we don’t know what they are, surely they can’t be simply to procreate and continue the bloodline, right?"
"I don’t know." The Queen shook her head.
"We might not know it, but we can surely assume that’s the case, right? I mean who in their right minds would want every generation to be blood related? What purpose does it serve other than to keep the bloodline pure? The bloodlines not getting any stronger by such a thing happening, it’s just passed down properly and not diluted by others. Think, mother, brother, both of you, please think."
Silence descended in the room once again.
The Princess wasn’t wrong, however, if they went with her words, they would be going against the very foundation their founder and three ancestors had established.
The Asura Queen gave it some thought.
"The most important decisions are made by His Majesty. In his absence, it is me. Everything has collapsed and yet, His Majesty has not made an appearance." The Queen’s tone was serious and her children could feel a hint of frustration in her voice.
"We might need to change the way we see the world. We might need to look past the deeds of our ancestor and as you’ve said, look at the bigger picture. We had been so focused on maintaining our bloodline, and fighting the Evure God Clan that we lost touch with what’s more important."
The Crown Prince nodded in agreement. He had similar thoughts.
"Uncle Kalyndor might be a traitor, but now that I see through a bigger lens, I don’t think it would’ve mattered whether he married an outsider or not as long as the main goal was achieved. The secret to remove the restrictions of our bloodline might be with his descendants. I am neither sure nor confident of it. And with what his descendant has done, I’m sure there might be a lot of resentment. However..."
The pause made the Crown Prince and the Princess close their eyes.
The Asuras were a prideful group of people.
Right now, their pride had taken a hit and it was continously getting worse.
"...uncle Kalyndor’s descendant might be our last hope."
There it was. The words that the Princess or the Crown Prince expected. This was the last blow to their pride and it hurt their souls, but what could they do?
The Asura Queen continued, "Let’s suppose we procreate, have many generations after us, but what then? It will never grow to the level it is right now as in every generation, there will only be a handful of royals. We also lack the resources to raise everyone to the Legendary Rank, and we certainly will have many familial problems. Our clan’s as good as dead if the restrictions set by the ancestors aren’t removed. Thus, from this very instance, we will change our ways."
"It’s an order?" The Crown Prince asked.
The Asura Queen nodded. "It is hereby my, Celestine’s last order as the Asura Queen. Find the descendant of uncle Kalyndor and seek help. The descendant might be here in this world or in Octavia, I am sure of it. Lysander, you’ll search through our world and Melina, you’ll go back to the battlefield. Do not die and do not hurt the descendant."
The two stood up, bowed, and left the room.
When they were gone, the Asura Queen’s lips curled down. She turned to a particular direction and stared at it.
"Will you come to regret your decision, Your Majesty? I stopped you that day from pursuing uncle, yet you bloodied your hands. And look, today, we are in need of uncle again. If our clan collapses, please do not resent me. This was the best I could do..."
...
Octavia.
The Evure God Clan’s vampires were still trying to capture the gates.
They got the news from the headquarters that the main world of Asuras had somehow fallen. All they needed to do now was open up a path to that place.
This was only possible if all eight gates were captured.
Lith was back in Octavia to capture these gates. It was not to help the Evure God Clan, but to help himself.
If the Evure God Clan had its attention on the main world of Asuras then it would be much easier to attack them.
Their only rival was gone and they would be stupid beyond measure if they did not claim all their treasures.
Lith was trying to fasten this process so he could have a better chance at making them fall.
Beside him were Fei and Sylvia. The rest were sent to assist on the frontlines.
Lith sat around a round table with Fei and Sylvia. There was a projection displaying multiple scenes on the battlefield.
The Asura Princess withdrew when she found the main world collapsed. She might not be back anytime soon but who could tell? The weapon in her hands was too overpowered and she could do a last ditch effort.
Lith didn’t have the means to counter her so he could only keep an eye and attack other places where she wasn’t present.
Her appearing would be the worst case scenario for now.
Time passed.
Half a day later.
The vampires of Evure God Clan found two gates which meant only three remained.
Capturing them was easy as there weren’t any Asuras blocking them.
However, what Lith was afraid of ended up happening.
The Asura Princess was here!
With the same blade and the same demeanor, she stood before the vampires, blocking their path.
Lith clicked his tongue in annoyance.
"She’s back." Fei commented.
Sylvia was on high alert too.
A minute passed.
There was no change in the Asura Princess’s movement. She remained standing.
A few more minutes passed and she did not seem to be doing anything.
However, just as the vampires were about to make a move, the Asura Princess began moving her hands, probably casting magic.
The air in front of her changed and soon, rocks flew up from the ground and arranged themselves into readable letters.
In big font, as if for everyone to read, the Asura Princess wrote:
"The one who removed the mind control, I know you are here."
Lith was alarmed by the words and was ready to move away but the next line of words stopped him.
"I will give you my blade in exchange for a meeting. I will also seal my cultivation and come alone."
"Huh?" Lith was taken aback. He did not expect the Asuras to make such a move.
"Master, this could be a trap." Fei warned.
Sylvia on the other hand leaned forwards to see the Asura Princess’s expression clearly. "I think so too, but if she seals her cultivation and comes alone to the place we tell her, there won’t be any problem."
"Well, she’s willing to give her blade. Let’s test that first." Lith wasn’t about to take any risks but he knew that without the blade, the Asura Princess might not threaten them.
"Sylvia, give Roy an escape talisman and send him as our messenger. Also open a gate in front of the Princess when I tell you."
Sylvia nodded and connected Roy with Lith, then asked him to go to the Asura Princess.
Roy found the mission to be suicidal so he clutched the talisman hard, ready to rip it any moment.
He flew up in the sky and stood before the Asura Princess.
"What an honor to meet the Princess of the Asuras."
