Chapter 2037: Chapter 2036: Loose on the Outside, Tight Within

Sikong Yu effortlessly entered the camp, which was practically undefended, with no guards or inquiries at all.

Sikong Yu made her way to the center of the camp, initially thinking she could just walk into Li Feng’s tent, but as she was stepping past a tent, a sinister wind suddenly attacked from the shadows.

Having sensed the sinister wind behind her, Sikong Yu executed a tactical roll to dodge the sweeping weapon. Steadying herself, she looked towards the assailant—a fierce Snake Clan warrior with a serpent’s tail and human body, whose surprise attack had come from his tail.

"Hiss hiss, didn’t expect you to be a beauty. No matter your clan or who sent you, surrender now, or don’t blame me for not showing mercy."

The Snake Clan warrior fiddled with his Double Blades, eyeing the Sikong Yu standing before him.

Sikong Yu hadn’t anticipated this camp being loose on the outside but tight within. Seeing the nearby Demon Clan members alerted and gathering around, she considered her options.

Sikong Yu wasn’t inclined to fight.

"I’m here to see Feng Yang. Take me to him."

"Ha, our General Master isn’t someone you can just meet at will. It’s not entirely impossible to meet him, but... first, we might need to check you for weapons."

The Snake Clan warrior said this as he slithered towards Sikong Yu: "Will you do it yourself, or shall I help?"

Looking at the squinting Snake Clan warrior, Sikong Yu certainly wouldn’t indulge him, and with fire igniting on her fist, she punched directly at the Snake Clan warrior.

Clearly prepared, the Snake Clan warrior, with an extremely resilient body, bent backwards against physical logic, while simultaneously blocking Sikong Yu’s punch with his Double Blades.

"Heh, trying a sneak attack? I was prepared long ago."

"Surround her, and don’t let her escape."

Since half a month ago, Li Feng’s forces had grown beyond comparison, numbering in the tens of thousands among the Demon Clan. However, these demons each followed their own motives, and Li Feng hadn’t invested much in them.

He simply organized them into small formations, forming camps of five thousand soldiers.

After three days of sifting through waves, selecting survivors, Li Feng infused the survivors with Phoenix Flame Power, refining their Bloodline, and imprinting them with Li Feng’s mark.

This mark was Phoenix Flame.

Li Feng directly adopted these demons for himself, declaring their establishment as trusted aides, filling the ranks with those imprinted and screened.

When it came to winning hearts and establishing a sense of honor, Li Feng was adept.

These demons in the trusted aides almost survived by the skin of their teeth, having obtained the power Li Feng granted. Who wouldn’t cherish such hard-earned possession?

Moreover, contrast breeds fear, as becoming trusted aides starkly differentiated them from the later-arriving demons.

They not only became trusted aides but also received ample armament, their appearance transformed from a motley crew.

Li Feng further dispatched personnel to assume leadership, restructuring and laying various rules.

Though stringent, such order suited these demons, as their perceived status was now elite rather than cannon fodder.

Their General Master nearly broke through First Line Pass alone, possessing sky-high combat prowess, not inferior to the lofty Ten Demon Generals. For the generals had long been distant from the people, Li Feng’s power was their highest aspiration.

Thus, Li Feng’s camp formed an internal and external hierarchy, with outer demons attracted by reputation being disorganized, simply finding a settlement spot amidst varied tribes.

Infiltration was easy, yet the inner camp was surrounded by trusted aides recruited by Li Feng, within which close guards, like Lei Ba and others, led several hundred soldiers.

Watching the smug Snake Clan warrior, Sikong Yu laughed coldly. Suddenly, her Burning Technique erupted within, sending a stronger Fire Breaking Fist at the enemy’s Double Blades, instantly causing them to glow red and begin melting.

"Uh."

The Snake Clan warrior was astounded, yet in an instant, Sikong Yu twisted and delivered a side-kick, directly flooring the Snake Clan warrior, face ground beneath her foot.

Scanning coolly, the surrounding demons were unfazed.

"Capture her."

In the next moment, these demons burst out, a Phoenix Flame Mark radiating on them as they possessed innate fire powers, pouncing at Sikong Yu like wolves.

Seeing this, Sikong Yu frowned; her intention was to silently meet Li Feng, but things clearly hadn’t gone as planned. Silently meeting Li Feng seemed unlikely.

Even getting past this perimeter proved impossible.

Since that was the case, she’d have to create some commotion to alert Li Feng within.

Sikong Yu abandoned hesitation, her Vermilion Bird Bloodline erupting. Though these demons wielded modest flame power, it paled compared to Sikong Yu’s.

Instantly, a wave released from Sikong Yu sent the encircling demons flying, then with a sweep of her gaze, she darted towards the central tent.

Mere moments later, Sikong Yu was blocked by a formidable Bear Clan warrior, radiating alarming aggression compared to previous demons.

"He is Bear Commander."

This Bear Clan warrior was one of Li Feng’s earliest recruits, naturally a free mercenary and battle-hardened, with formidable talent inherent to the Bear Clan.

Under Li Feng’s Phoenix Flame baptism, it was akin to rebirth, elevating his prowess to near top-tier Demon General level, comparable to Golden Core Late Stage cultivators from Ancestor Dragon City.

"Ahead is restricted without orders."

Sikong Yu furrowed her brow; how could so much change in her brief absence, gathering strong demons around him?

At this standoff.

A figure emerged from behind Xiong Gang: "Alright, everyone stand down, she’s not an outsider."

"It’s Shadow Commander."

Despite all being commandants, Shadow undoubtedly held higher status, being close to Sir Feng Yang.

"Shadow Master?"

"Alright, leave her to me. You all did well tonight, I’ll report to Sir Feng Yang."

Shadow finished, waving her hand, and surrounding demons retreated promptly.

Shadow strode towards Sikong Yu.

"Miss Sikong, you shouldn’t be here?" said Shadow.

Sikong Yu regarded Shadow: "Where is Li Feng? I need to see him."

Shadow shrugged: "You’re not in luck; the Camp Master was summoned by Lion Commander, only Chong Xuan is with him."

"Precisely because the Camp Master is away, the camp is on high alert."

Hearing this, Sikong Yu furrowed her brow: "He was called away; could his identity have been compromised?"
