Urban's Fury: The War Dragon God
Chapter 2010 - 2009: Frenzied Transformation
Chapter 2010: Chapter 2009: Frenzied Transformation
Gu Feng’s words carried a cold demeanor, but Yue Li didn’t find it inappropriate; after all, the rise of one general leads to a myriad of bones beneath. Ancestor Dragon City’s humans were not easy to extinguish—if they were, wars wouldn’t have erupted multiple times.
"Lord Yue Li, if you’re still concerned, I, Gu Feng, am willing to alleviate the worries of the Wolf Commander. My subordinate of ten thousand can serve as the vanguard, given that I’ve undergone the baptism of the opposing Phoenix Flame."
Gu Feng straightforwardly proposed to use his subordinate of ten thousand to test, and Yue Li glanced at Gu Feng, surprised by his ambitious nature.
The transformation within the Fire Phoenix Clan undoubtedly has its pros and cons, yet the Fire Phoenix Clan likely wouldn’t dare tear up their alliance directly. Just as Gu Feng mentioned, a loss of ten thousand riders in the Wolf Clan wouldn’t break them, as long as the Wolf Commander remains, the loss of merely ten thousand riders is negligible.
After all, the Wolf Clan’s forces number in the millions; even if these two hundred thousand elite Wolf Riders perish entirely at the front, as long as the top battle strength isn’t significantly diminished and the Wolf Commander survives, the Wolf Clan can recover in a century.
If Gu Feng were to elevate from a top-tier Demon General to a Demon King, and his subordinate of ten thousand riders were similarly enhanced, their combat strength might escalate to a terrifying level—even the guard Wolf Riders beside the Wolf Commander might not match them.
Given that the guard Wolf Riders number only five thousand, but these guards are selected from millions of Wolf Warriors within the clan, saying they are one in a hundred wouldn’t be an exaggeration. Any random pick could serve as Centurion.
Every Chiliarch is equipped with a top-tier Demon General as their commander.
"I’m not in a position to decide on matters like these; the allocation of quotas still depends on the Wolf Commander." Yue Li said, then mounted his ride and sped away.
Gu Feng could only follow closely behind. He was fully aware that such a favorable situation couldn’t entirely fall on him. If he could possess a unit of ten thousand fully enhanced riders, even if he was a newly ascended Demon King, he would still be a hotly contested presence in the Wolf Clan.
Even if he couldn’t secure the ten thousand, he must at least seize the advantage, for the number in a Wolf Rider battle is fundamental.
Not to mention the intrigue after several people returned to their respective camps.
"Camp Master, are we really going to help the Demon Clan enhance their strength?" As several people left, Shadow silently appeared beside Li Feng.
"One thousand a day, thirty thousand in a month—isn’t that too much?"
Shadow knew well the terrifying means of Li Feng—not looking at those demons enhanced by Li Feng, what strength they now possess. That old tortoise was on the brink of death but is now a top-tier Demon King, only second to the Demon Commander.
"Moreover, those demons are attacking First Line Pass. If significant losses are caused because of us, when returning to Ancestor Dragon City, wouldn’t we be regarded as traitors?"
Li Feng glanced at Shadow.
"I understand your concerns. I’m elevating their strength, but it won’t reach thirty thousand. We don’t even have a month, so the number of people I enhance won’t exceed ten thousand."
"These ten thousand will be divided into three tribes. Once their strength increases significantly, how do you think they will employ these thousands?"
"In a siege battle, casualties are highest. They certainly won’t use elites unless in a dire situation. As for facing field battles, if I’m back to Ancestor Dragon City and encounter these troops, they won’t become a strength but directly lead to losing ten thousand elite troops."
"The other side certainly won’t anticipate that I’m not of the Fire Phoenix Clan but on the side of Ancestor Dragon City. I’m even considering if ten thousand might be too few, too little to affect the battle."
"Now we can only take one step at a time."
Upon hearing this, Shadow nodded: "Hmm, the Camp Master indeed thinks thoroughly. These demons surely wouldn’t expect the Camp Master’s identity. No matter how they calculate, ultimately, it’s the demons who lose."
"Alright, let me rest for a moment; things will get hectic next."
Li Feng said, closing his eyes. He did not mention what would happen if the plan were exposed—for if he were dead, why care about floods?
Even these demons would become Li Feng’s pawns. If Ancestor Dragon City were to truly treat him as a traitor, then how many among ten thousand demons would he kill? Don’t blame him for sitting by then.
Li Feng was by no means a saint.
Unfortunately, his strength was too weak, and his chips too few; otherwise, in this grand battle between Ancestor Dragon and the Demon Clan, Li Feng would surely play the third party, becoming a fisherman.
For now, he doesn’t even have a chance to join the game; everything he’s doing now is merely to survive.
Li Feng didn’t rest long.
"Camp Master, the three tribes have sent their selected individuals; besides that, there’s a large amount of resources."
Upon hearing the report, Li Feng smirked coldly.
"Indeed, they’re quite proactive."
"Very well."
Li Feng said, stepping outside the camp tent. In the camp’s center stood a bunker—a creation by Chong Xuan.
"Young Master, the bunker has been completed per your request."
Chong Xuan spoke, then led Li Feng through the only entrance—a corridor descending underground. The space below, solidified with Chong Xuan’s Domain Power, spans fifty meters squared and over two thousand square meters, akin to a small stadium.
The top of this bunker is enclosed, making spying impossible; though Li Feng doesn’t mind deploying means to enhance individuals, he won’t allow casual observation, keeping a hint of mystery.
"Very well, next, Chong Xuan, check the resources. Then have the individuals above organize teams of a hundred. Bring them down, team by team."
"Yes, Young Master."
Chong Xuan then departed while Li Feng remained alone within the bunker.
On the ground, Gu Feng arrived with his team. As predicted, he didn’t get all the quotas but received some tacit approval from the Wolf Commander. Since transformation hadn’t shown effective results and there were concerns, Gu Feng wouldn’t be refused as he was willing to take the plunge.
Even Yue Li had nothing to say.
Because disadvantages are certain, and wolf riders do indeed rely on numbers; too scattered, they wouldn’t form a fighting force.
Gu Feng successfully acquired a quota for three thousand as test subjects.
"Is Feng Yang not here?"
Chong Xuan glanced at Gu Feng: "My master is below. First, verify the resources, and after confirmation, organize teams of a hundred directly down, others wait outside without causing a stir or scattering, else leave."
Gu Feng saw there was no way to cozy up, so he followed Chong Xuan’s instructions, dividing his Wolf Riders into three hundred-man teams.
Soon, after the resource verification finished, Chong Xuan nodded and allowed passage.
A hundred-man team descended the slope.
Inside the bunker.
Li Feng looked at the hundred descending Wolf Warriors, speaking directly: "The strongest stand in the front, followed by the second tier, and others behind. Tell me your strength level."
"I am Gu Mo of the Wolf Clan, strength as Beginner Demon General."
"I am...."
Li Feng scanned the hundred; only one Beginner Demon General, nine at Chiliarch level, twenty Centurions, and seventy decurions. Hardly any warriors.
Furthermore, given such an arrangement, the opposite surely wanted to gauge the extent of enhancement.
Li Feng smirked, showing indifference to the other party’s designs. After all, those brought here were all to become his guinea pigs, just suitable for unrestrained experimentation of his ideas.
