Chapter 1940 - 1939: The Commander Orders You to Die
Chapter 1940: Chapter 1939: The Commander Orders You to Die
It wasn’t surprising that the demon clan sentry was careless; this place, nestled deep within the barbaric wilderness, was at least ten thousand miles away from the human critical front line. Furthermore, in front of this camp lay countless other camps in the heart of the wilderness.
If the humans from Ancestor Dragon City were to launch an attack, it wouldn’t be possible for them to cross these mountains and rivers and reach here.
As for flying in the sky, it was a common sight, after all, the Demon Country was home to countless tribes, among which the Feather Clan existed in the most powerful Eight Tribes. This clan had always positioned itself lofty and aloof.
The demon sentry eyed Li Feng and Sikong Yu. Although both appeared in human form, they had wings, and in the upper echelons of the Demon Country, human transformation was considered noble. After all, without sufficient power, one couldn’t perfect a human form transformation.
Perhaps they were nobles of the Feather Clan.
That’s what the demon sentry thought, naturally not causing any unnecessary trouble. Not only was he thinking this way, but other sentries on the watchtowers were as well. Even some within the camp had noticed because at this moment, there were three officers of Chiliarch rank within the camp.
Li Feng and Sikong Yu audaciously flew over the camp. Strangely, nobody stopped them or noticed their presence, and the camp below continued as it was, without any disturbance due to their arrival.
Li Feng took a deep breath at this moment, then made a daring decision. He hovered mid-air and shouted towards the camp below.
"By order of the Demon General, officers of Centurion rank and above within the camp are to report for orders."
Li Feng hovered in the air, condescendingly. His tone was full of arrogance, and his shout instantly stirred the camp below.
"Hmm?"
In a spacious tent, a large bovine-headed Chiliarch, upon hearing the noise outside, lowered the wine bowl he held.
"Who is making such a loud commotion outside?"
"Reporting to the Chiliarch, two Feather Clan youngsters have arrived outside claiming to have orders from the Demon General, requesting those above Centurion rank to receive orders."
"Feather Clan?"
The bovine-headed Chiliarch furrowed his brow. The Feather Clan was one of the Eight Tribes of the Demon Country, esteemed in status. Though he hailed from another major tribe, the Barbaric Bull Tribe, his bloodline was by no means inferior to these Feather Clan youngsters.
However, the Feather Clan had always been aloof, with demon prophets and high priests among them, hence considered a cut above the rest. Moreover, the winged Feather Clan could fly, thus demon generals typically employed them for delivering orders.
Though the bovine-headed Chiliarch was displeased, he finished his wine in one gulp, then stood from his seat: "Let’s go see."
Leaders of Centurion rank and above present also rose to their feet.
Meanwhile, elsewhere, other groups emerged, Feather Clan not being a big deal but representing the Demon General as messengers.
The Demon Country had already taken on the nature of a nation. Though the subordinate tribes retained their primitive forms, once war was waged, ten Demon Generals held supreme command, possessing power second only to the Demon Emperor. Anyone in disobedience could be dealt with first and reported later.
Despite the displeasure of the Chiliarchs towards the stance of these two Feather Clan youngsters, they had no choice but to comply with bluff bravado of the pair.
Sikong Yu watched the gathering of demon officers above Centurion rank with amazed admiration for Li Feng’s audacity, but she had to admit, Li Feng played his hand beautifully.
After all, this camp covered a considerable area, one that accommodated over three thousand demons. The entire camp could gather ten thousand demons, and it served as an arsenal for supplies.
Moreover, there were important granaries and livestock pens, and combined, the camp’s area wasn’t small. If Li Feng and Sikong Yu were to infiltrate, raising a commotion was possible, but precision in beheading the leadership wouldn’t be achievable.
Without eliminating the Chiliarchs first, should they regroup to counterattack, Li Feng and Sikong Yu would face not two Chiliarchs a notch below them, but two regiments of a thousand warriors each.
The distinction couldn’t be greater.
An organized regiment of a thousand demon warriors might not slaughter them, but could entrap them. Once defenses were intact, Li Feng’s dream of silently overtaking the camp would be wishful thinking.
Li Feng observed the approaching demons with Sikong Yu beside him, quickly counting their numbers, then whispered in Li Feng’s ear: "They’re all here."
Li Feng acknowledged, gazing down: "Everyone of Centurion rank and above is present, correct."
"Wasn’t there a command, show it if you have!"
Niu Fuhai raised his eyes towards the two Feather Clan youths above. Flying, they might fancy themselves tough but in his heart he thought them proud feathered fools.
Li Feng glanced at this well-built, towering bovine humanoid, surely the Chiliarch bovine-headed Niu Fuhai.
"Command,"
"The Demon General commands you to perish."
Li Feng spoke coldly.
Below, the demon officers, shocked, raised their eyes to Li Feng and Sikong Yu, a Chiliarch astounded and puzzled, raised his eye: "What do you mean?"
Before his sound fell, Li Feng and Sikong Yu fiercely made their move. Both invoked the Burning Technique within, instantly igniting bloodlines, unleashing their strongest Qi and Blood Power, then accumulated Golden Core Power, instantly enveloping their bodies in dazzling firelight.
The next moment.
The pair delivered their strongest strike towards the gathering demons below.
Boom.
Yan Yang and Ice Flame, two extremes colliding. As the forces converged, a chain reaction sparked, explosive flames clashed, spawning spark. A stronger energy burst followed, instantly shattering the surrounding area of a hundred meters into a pit.
The cluster of leaders above Centurion rank, more than half were incinerated into bone remnants. The rest, remaining, slightly distant, managed pathetic escape.
The three key Chiliarchs fared miserably, the Cat Clan’s Chiliarch, weak bodily, suffered severe injury, the Snake Clan’s Chiliarch likewise was battered, scales shredded but still breathed.
Whereas the most robust bovine-headed Chiliarch Niu Fuhai proved a tough cookie, although appearing grilled, retained formidable life force.
"You are not messengers."
Niu Fuhai, exhaling flames, his eyes like shine stones, looked at Li Feng. Li Feng straightened, eyed the massive Niu Fuhai like a tower.
"Did I ever claim I was?"
Li Feng sneered: "You were fools; it can’t be held against others. So, time for you to die." Li Feng, springing up, instantly advanced.
Niu Fuhai roared low, swinging Iron Fist, yet having suffered harsh blow, his body bruised and movement sluggish, Li Feng sidestepped his fist, leaping with a toe spring.
Hu Ben Fist.
This fist transformed into a cage-free wild tiger, directly roaring to Niu Fuhai’s chest. Flames roasted the opponent’s brass skin, leaving a cavity, fist delving into Niu Fuhai’s chest.
Charred ox heart.
In an instant, Niu Fuhai’s heart reduced to cinder, his giant form froze, Li Feng retracted his fist, gracefully landing.
