Unrivaled Miracle Doctor: The God-Defying Demonic Consort
Chapter 989 - 74: Together in Wuhua City
Chapter 989: Chapter 74: Together in Wuhua City
A hint of doubt flashed in Yin Chen’s blood-red eyes.
Seeing people dressed like this in Wuhua City indeed struck one as peculiar, leaving an impression of stealthiness.
However, he merely cast a casual glance before retracting his gaze and turning to leave.
He still needed to select a suitable birthday gift, with no time to spare for noticing others. At this moment, he was unaware that these somewhat stealthy individuals in his eyes were actually Mu Tianyin, whom Mu Qingge, after entering the Divine Land, had always been trying to find.
Similarly, Mu Tianyin did not realize that the silver-haired man who glanced at them from across the street would have any relation to Mu Qingge.
The two parties brushed past each other on the bustling streets of Wuhua City.
Yin Chen, off to select a birthday gift.
Meanwhile, Mu Tianyin and his companions removed the cloaks from their bodies and stored them in their Sumeru Containers, blending into the throngs on the street.
Mu Tianyin gave the four a look, and the other three dispersed individually, heading in different directions.
Under his orders, they were to remain undercover in Wuhua City for the next few days, seeking targets to obtain invitations to enter Wuhua Palace for the birthday celebration.
Mu Tianyin and Mu Lin stayed together, first settling down before proceeding to prepare the birthday gift.
Mu Lin looked around and spotted a tavern cave residence, then stepped forward to make inquiries. But every time he returned, he would shake his head at Mu Tianyin.
"Young Master, they are all fully booked. Many visitors have arrived in the city in the past few days for the birthday celebration and booked these places early, leaving no empty rooms available for us." Mu Lin said to Mu Tianyin.
Fully booked!
The news darkened Mu Tianyin’s gaze, a violent aura swirling around him.
Mu Lin couldn’t help but take two steps back, cautiously saying, "Young Master, perhaps we could..."
"You want the Young Master to seek lodging?" Mu Tianyin slowly turned his head to look at Mu Lin. Seeking lodging meant asking for a place to stay in a Wuhua City resident’s home.
Mu Lin, driven back a few steps by his gaze, quickly responded and whispered, "Young Master, given the circumstances, we have no choice but to make do."
Make do!
Within Mu Tianyin’s heart raged a violent storm; he had been living by swallowing his anger for far too long. Now, was he to swallow his pride further to request a place to stay?
Suddenly, his eyes narrowed, a streak of murderous intent flowing through them. He sneered, "Fine, let’s do as you suggested."
Seeing Mu Tianyin compromise, Mu Lin felt a surge of relief.
He quickly followed Mu Tianyin away, heading towards the homes of Divines who depended on the Wuhua Domain within Wuhua City.
The Wuhua Domain is neatly divided into districts: commercial areas, residential areas, each orderly and systemic. The two walked from the bustling market to the residential area, where people became sparse and the surroundings grew quiet.
Mu Lin looked left to right, considering the idea of choosing a place with better conditions to avoid further angering Mu Tianyin. After some searching, he chose a seemingly decent residence.
He said to Mu Tianyin, "Young Master, why not this one?" At the moment, he hadn’t noticed why Mu Tianyin, who was typically lacking patience, remained calm after compromising this day.
"Hmm, you say this one, then this one it is." Mu Tianyin casually nodded.
His easygoing manner allowed Mu Lin’s heart to relax.
Just as he approached the courtyard, Mu Tianyin suddenly called out to him, "Wait."
Mu Lin turned his gaze, puzzled, towards Mu Tianyin.
Mu Tianyin’s lips curled slightly, but his gaze remained cold and ruthless. "Remember to ask clearly about the number of people in the household and whether they are all home."
Mu Lin furrowed his brows, not understanding why Mu Tianyin wanted this information. However, he did not want to defy his wishes, so he nodded.
He walked up the steps and knocked on the courtyard door.
The gate swung open, revealing the head of a young boy. His gaze was incredibly innocent, devoid of any suspicion, as he politely asked, "May I ask whom you are looking for?"
Mu Lin returned the smile and asked, "May I ask, young master, if your family has any spare rooms? My master and I have come to pay respects for Wuhua God Emperor’s birthday but can’t find a place to settle. So, we’d like to check with your family."
"Well..." The boy scratched his head, embarrassed, "I can’t make decisions on that. Let me ask my grandfather."
"Is the young master’s family all at home?" Mu Lin suddenly remembered Mu Tianyin’s advice and asked.
The young boy, without a hint of wariness, replied, "There are five people in the family. My grandparents, my parents. My father is sick recently and bedridden. My mother is busy caring for him; the ones in charge are my grandfather and grandmother. They are home today; let me ask my grandfather about your stay."
"Thank you, young master." Mu Lin smiled.
The boy returned the smile bashfully, gently closing the door behind him as he turned to report to his elders at home.
Mu Lin waited patiently outside the door.
Meanwhile, Mu Tianyin came over, stood beside him, and kicked open the slightly ajar door.
His actions caused the smile on Mu Lin’s face to freeze, and a sense of foreboding arose in his heart.
However, before he could stop him, Mu Tianyin directly walked into the courtyard, his demeanor extremely eerie.
Mu Lin’s expression changed, and he hastily chased after him.
Meanwhile, the young man returned with an elder by his side. It seemed this was his grandfather he had mentioned.
The grandfather and grandson were originally walking toward them, chatting and laughing. From their expressions, Mu Lin could tell that the arrangements for lodging were settled. But when they saw Mu Tianyin standing in the courtyard, the elder’s expression suddenly changed, becoming alert as he quickly pulled his grandson behind him.
"Who are you, and why do you trespass in my home?" the elder pointed at Mu Tianyin and asked.
Mu Lin wanted to explain, but as soon as he moved, Mu Tianyin sneered and vanished from his place. When he reappeared, he was already in front of the elder.
The elder’s eyes widened in horror, wanting to retreat, but Mu Tianyin wouldn’t give him the chance. Before the elder could gather divine power to resist, Mu Tianyin’s right arm, wrapped tightly and thicker than his left arm, passed directly through the elder’s heart.
That hand went through the chest, and amidst the bloody fingers, held the elder’s still-beating heart.
This scene terrified the young man hiding behind the elder.
The heart suddenly appearing in front of him filled him with terror, freezing him on the spot.
Next, a flash of silver, a sharp cold arc slashed across his neck. Then he only felt the world whirl, seemingly seeing his body falling backward from the sky.
"Young Master!" Mu Lin shouted in disbelief.
He was stunned by Mu Tianyin’s actions. He couldn’t understand why he would kill.
Mu Tianyin withdrew his right arm, slowly squeezing the heart in his hand until the blood burst out onto the ground. "Our whereabouts must not be exposed. Killing them keeps the secret safe, and we have a place to stay—two birds with one stone."
He spread his hands, slowly turning to face Mu Lin and said to him, "There are three people left inside; go and deal with them."
Mu Lin’s eyes widened in disbelief as he looked at Mu Tianyin.
When had their Mu Clan’s Young Master become so violent and cold-blooded?
"What? Do such trivial matters still require me to do it myself?" Mu Tianyin’s eyes turned cold, filled with violence.
Seeing Mu Lin still unmoving, Mu Tianyin’s aura grew colder. "You can’t even handle a minor issue like this; what use do I have for you? You can only choose between you and the three people inside the house."
Mu Lin couldn’t believe that Mu Tianyin would force him to make such a choice.
How could he lay hands on innocent people?
He hesitated, but soon, two more people came out from the house. This time, two women, likely the young man’s mother and grandmother.
They probably came out to check, seeing the grandfather and grandson not returning for a long time.
However, upon coming out, they saw the bloody scene of the bodies separated from heads.
Looking at the two murderers standing in the courtyard, the two women’s eyes were filled with intense hatred, and grief as they gathered divine power and attacked Mu Tianyin and Mu Lin.
Mu Tianyin stood still, coldly ordering Mu Lin, "Kill them."
Mu Lin’s eyes were red. His duty was to protect Mu Tianyin; under these rules, he had no choice. Gritting his teeth, Mu Lin charged forward, swiftly slashing down the two women.
He was at the Spirit Cave Realm First Layer, while these two women were only at around the Sixth Layer of Spirit Void Realm. Killing them was almost effortless.
Mu Lin could not defy Mu Tianyin’s command, only make their suffering shorter.
After killing the two women, Mu Lin turned to look at Mu Tianyin. The latter remained expressionless, saying, "There’s still a sickly person inside."
"Young Master!" Mu Lin couldn’t help but speak.
Mu Tianyin laughed coldly, "Mu Lin, you are still so naïve. Now that his family is dead by our hands, we’re already enemies. You still show mercy to foes?"
"..." Mu Lin said nothing. He couldn’t speak out; he could only turn his stiff body around, carrying the short sword, and headed into the house.
Soon after, he appeared again before Mu Tianyin, speaking in a deep voice, "Young Master, it’s been cleared."
"Hmm." Only then did Mu Tianyin respond satisfactorily. He walked toward the house, passing by Mu Lin, instructing him, "Clean this place up. The smell of blood is unpleasant."
"Yes, Young Master." Mu Lin replied to Mu Tianyin. After he left, Mu Lin’s gaze changed numerous times, growing complicated. ’I must report this to the Elder. The Young Master’s current state is completely abnormal!’
...
As night drew on, when Yin Chen returned to Mu Qingge, the birthday gifts were already prepared.
Mu Qingge stood before the neatly displayed birthday gifts, slowly pacing and observing, finally nodding to Yin Chen, "I trust your arrangements."
Mu Qingge’s approval made Yin Chen smile too. He asked, "What’s next?"
"Next..." Mu Qingge raised her brows, her smile playful, "In the coming days, let’s just roam freely in this Wuhua City."
