“No.”

Zhang Su shook his head. “I’m here to see Lu Danxi of Danwu Peak.”

“Senior Sister Lu?”

Both disciples’ eyes lit up at the same time, their expressions instantly turning respectful.

The tall, thin disciple’s tone also became much more courteous. “So you know Senior Sister Lu. May I ask who you are…?”

“Zhang Su of Mixed Element Peak.”

“Senior Brother Zhang, please wait a moment. We’ll go inform Senior Sister Lu right away.”

The tall, thin disciple cupped his hands in a salute to Zhang Su, then turned and hurried toward the inner courtyard.

The short disciple remained where he was, smiling at Zhang Su with a much warmer attitude.

Zhang Su stood there and waited quietly.

There were other disciples from various peaks nearby. When they heard Zhang Su actually knew an Official Disciple from Danwu Peak, their eyes filled with envy.

“From Mixed Element Peak? He’s so lucky to actually know an Official Disciple from Danwu Peak.”

“That’s an Official Disciple of Danwu Peak! Who wouldn’t want to know one? The benefits of knowing an Official Disciple from Danwu Peak are immense. You can get a big discount on Medicine Pills and obtain good things you can’t buy outside.”

“If I could get to know an Official Disciple from Danwu Peak, I’d wake up laughing from my dreams.”

“Give me a break. You’re just a Named Disciple. Why would an Official Disciple from Danwu Peak even bother with you?”

The discussions rose and fell around him. Listening to them, Zhang Su gained a deeper understanding of the status an Official Disciple from Danwu Peak held within the Upper Sect.

Before long, the tall disciple ran back with a woman in a blue robe following behind him.

It was Lu Danxi.

Lu Danxi was wearing a blue robe today, with a jade-green silk ribbon tied around her waist. Her jet-black hair was held up by a jade hairpin, giving her an elegant and refined look.

Her face was graced with a smile, and her steps were light. In just a few strides, she was in front of Zhang Su.

“Zhang Su? It really is you! Come, come, let’s go inside and sit.”

Lu Danxi’s tone held a hint of pleasant surprise.

She beckoned to Zhang Su, then turned and walked toward the inner courtyard.

Zhang Su followed her, and the two entered the inner courtyard of Danwu Peak, one after the other.

Behind them, the gazes of the disciples from the various peaks remained fixed on Zhang Su’s back, the envy in their eyes growing even stronger.

“Their relationship must be something special. Senior Sister Lu came out to greet him personally.”

“What’s the background of that disciple from Mixed Element Peak? He doesn’t look like a big shot, and he’s wearing the gray robe of a Named Disciple.”

“For a Named Disciple to know an Official Disciple from Danwu Peak, and even have her come out personally to greet him… this person is definitely not simple.”

The sound of discussion gradually faded as Zhang Su followed Lu Danxi into the inner courtyard.

The inner courtyard of Danwu Peak was much quieter than the outer one. The flagstone paths were flanked by all sorts of exotic flowers and grasses, and the medicinal fragrance in the air was even richer.

They passed through two moon gates and arrived before a standalone courtyard.

The courtyard gate was wooden, with no plaque on the lintel, but the walls were a head taller than those of the surrounding residences, making it seem much more imposing.

“This is my courtyard. Come on in.”

Lu Danxi pushed open the gate and walked inside.

Zhang Su followed her in, his gaze sweeping across the courtyard.

An osmanthus tree with dense branches and leaves grew in one corner of the yard.

In another corner stood a shed.

Under the shed were rows of shelves, all filled with bottles and jars.

Zhang Su sighed to himself. ‘Official Disciples usually get their own separate residences, and the conditions are much better than those for Named Disciples. Lu Danxi’s courtyard is so lavish. It just goes to show, Alchemy Masters are truly rich—they’re all rolling in it. Even though she’s not an Alchemy Master yet and can only compound Medicine Pills, she’s still incredibly well-off.’

“Junior Brother Zhang, have a seat.”

Lu Danxi walked over to a stone stool under the osmanthus tree and sat down.

Zhang Su didn’t stand on ceremony and sat down as well.

Lu Danxi poured him a cup of tea. The liquid was a vibrant green, its refreshing fragrance assailing his nose.

“Junior Brother Zhang, did you come to see me about something?”

Lu Danxi put down the teapot and asked directly.

She had a straightforward and generous personality and disliked beating around the bush.

“Senior Sister Lu, I do have a matter I’d like to trouble you with.”

Zhang Su didn’t waste time on pleasantries either, getting straight to the point. “I need to cultivate the Great Five Elements Divine Technique…”

He explained his request in detail, including his need for Five Elements Type elixirs to aid his cultivation and speed up his progress.

“Wait.”

Lu Danxi interrupted Zhang Su, a trace of surprise on her face.

“You’re going to cultivate the Great Five Elements Divine Technique?”

“Yes.”

Zhang Su nodded.

Lu Danxi looked Zhang Su up and down, her expression turning a little strange.

“The Great Five Elements Divine Technique is, in essence, the Five Elements Unite technique from the Five Elements Sect. It allows one to cultivate Second-Grade Gang Force. I remember that you cultivate Mixed Element Peak’s Pure Yang Nine Combinations Divine Skill, which should be a Third-Grade Gang Force.”

“So, you’re planning to use the Melt Gang Technique?”

Zhang Su nodded.

It wasn’t much of a secret.

Lu Danxi was also an Official Disciple of Danwu Peak. As long as she knew about Pure Yang Gang Power and Five Elements Gang Force, she could naturally guess that he wanted to perform Melt Gang.

“The Melt Gang Technique…”

Lu Danxi lifted her teacup and took a sip, her gaze lingering on Zhang Su’s face for a moment.

Then she said slowly, “Your Pure Yang Gang Power is already a Third-Grade Gang Force. Now you’re preparing to cultivate the Five Elements Gang Force, which is a Second-Grade Gang Force. Once you use the Melt Gang Technique to fuse the two… you’re trying to cultivate a First-Grade Gang Force!”

As she reached the end of her sentence, Lu Danxi’s gaze sharpened.

First-Grade Gang Force!

That was the stepping stone to becoming a Direct Disciple.

Although, even a First-Grade Gang Force couldn’t guarantee one would become a Direct Disciple.

After all, there were too many other influencing factors.

But if he could use a First-Grade Gang Force as his foundation to cultivate Inner Strength and advance to the Postnatal Realm, Zhang Su’s advantage would be enormous.
