Chapter 82 82. SECOND STAGE
Noah opened his eyes to find himself in a massive cave of sorts only that the cave was neatly carved in a circular shape. The cave was around 800m in size, it was lit with multiple orange lights. The place had no doors, or any openings at all.
Everything Noah could see was made of rock, even the Mana bulbs seemed to be made of stone.
Glancing at the figure of James beside him, Noah nodded at him. This was the second stage!.
James brought out his daggers, while Noah checked out his staff that was for some reason inside his inventory.
Realizing that it was badly damaged, and could at most be used a few times, Noah promised himself that when he advanced to tier 3, he would begin to use Cudgel as his permanent staff.
He longed for the cool abilities of Cudgel, and the fact that it was more durable than anyother weapon he currently had.
With that in mind, Noah decided to store the staff, and brought out the new Daggers. A pair of obsidian black Daggers appear in his grip. The Daggers had dark purple inscriptions embedded into their material, and it pulsed with a unique energy that Noah’s Instincts told him was very dangerous.
“Dude where did you get those?,” James said, his face filled with both jealousy and fascination. “I’m so jelous.” James sighed.
“I’ve been using Daggers for way longer than you have, but you’ve gotten incredibly good at using them, in a short period of time even, and now have a pair of nice looking ones at that,” James sighed again.
“That reminds me. You remember your lie about you being a peak stage tier 2?. How the heck are you one now?,” James asked his expression that of disbelief.
Noah scratched his head with a daggers base, as words proceeded out of his mouth, “I simply am very fast at cultivating,” Noah said with a nod.
“Uh…Is that even possible normally? Or does that mean you have a special cultivation technique?,” James gasped, while Noah furrowed his eyebrows.
“What’s a cultivation technique?,” Noah said. James’ eyes almost popped at those question,
“What do you mean, what is a cultivation technique?. Many people have one–,” James said but was cut short, because of the appearance of five inscriptions at the far ends of the circular cave.
They both wore stern expressions at that point, Noah rasing his Daggers in from of him, even doing light finger tricks to get them warmed up, James did the same, but in a less relaxed way.
A few seconds passed then a small army of five magical beasts all in the lower stage of tier 2, appeared, numbering 25 magical beasts in total.
The small army of beasts had different kinds of species, but that didn’t stop Noah and James from finishing them in a few minutes, Noah casually cast one lightning bolt, killing all the beast from his side. James also casting a spell.
Immediately they were done, a blue inscription appeared, and then the illusory figure of a old man appeared. Noah could not inspect the illusory figures facial features, since it’s features wasn’t static.
“Welcome to the second stage of bozolom. Participants Noah and James,” a voice came out of the illusory man, startling the two, who could only glance at each other in surprise.
“Now let me explain the rules of this stage,” The illusory man said.
‘I thought we were already told this,’ Noah said Inwardly, but still paid attention to the words of the hologram or so.
“The second stage will last for three days in which you’ll have to fight monsters of various levels,” the hologram started.
“This stage is the subdivided into two levels. Each will run equally for a day and a half. These two levels are then subdivided into 5 waves, which will run for seven hours, where you’ll fight beast like the tutorial you just did,” The hologram explained.
“In the first level, which you’ll soon begin, the monsters will only have powers from the lower stage to the middle stage, with only the increase in the numbers of appearing beasts after every hour, for the seven hours of each wave.”
“The second level will only have monsters from the middle stage to the peak of tier 2. With only increase in the numbers of the beasts ever hour, for the seven hours of each wave.” It continued, Noah and James paying their utmost attention.
“After every wave you’ll have a four minutes break, to rest as much as possible before the next wave begins. Only when you are about to cross into the second level, will you have a ten minutes break,” The hologram explained.
“Do not forget, you can decide to quit, using the surrender option of your hand bands. Note that once you do this, you won’t be able to reverse it,” the hologram added.
Noah and James were nodding basically every second of the explanation, they were able to see how hard and also a bit easy the stages were, after all there was a time for break, though it wasn’t really much, it was better than no break.
“Without further ado. Your first wave of monster’s will begin in two minutes,” the hologram said, as it performed a bow then disappeared. Noah and James also bowing at it before it left.
“We have only two minutes, and we won’t rest for the next seven hours,” Noah quickly said. “Do you think we need a plan?,” James said.
Noah put on a thoughtful expression, “Not really, we just have to watch each other’s back,” Noah replied with a nod.
“Do you have any area of effect spells?,” Noah asked James. Yes I do, but they will only be effective enough on lower stage beasts, middle stage will only be injured a bit, but peak wouldn’t have a scratch on them.
Noah nodded in approval, “You don’t have to worry about the peak tier 2’s. They are my problem to face,” Noah reassured James.
James only nodded, the two waiting in silence for the first wave to begin. ‘Who knows, maybe I’ll be able to reach tier 3,’ Noah said in his mind.
A bit of excitement starting to rise up his chest, though he immediately killed it, when he thought of the number of tier 2 beasts he would have to kill, just to gain one level. “Probably hundreds,” Noah sighed.
Though he didn’t dare complain, after all the system had made him advance way faster than anyone in the world could. The fact that he wouldn’t have to wait for decades was more than enough. 𝙚𝙤𝙫𝙚𝒍.𝒐𝙧𝙜
After that line of thought ended, five inscriptions lit up in five spots of the cave, then tier 2 lower stage beast appeared, 50 of them!.
The two immediately readied themselves, “On second thought, our plan is to make sure they don’t get too close,” Noah shouted, due to the mulitiple roars and bellows spreading in the closed cave.
“That means we’ll have to use spells,” James shouted. “Yes. Do you still have Mana potions?,” Noah said.
“Yes, just two.” James replied. “Good, just try your best to kill them with the most minimal amount of Mana,” Noah said casting ‘air spears’ at the beast on his side, an explosion resounded killing all of 25 of them instantly, though a new set of 25 appeared immediately after.
James nodded casting his own spell, a small magic circle expanded on his palm.
Pointing it at the magical beasts, hundreds of small water bullets shot out of the circle, filling most beasts with tiny holes, only that those holes numbered in hundreds, which led to them dying instantly.
Noah nodded at that point, this was how they began the first level of the second stage of bozolom.
