Chapter 65 65. HORDES II
Augustus remained confused at that sight, Noah words made no sense, it sounded like he wanted to sacrifice himself.
“What do you mean?,” the man asked in confusion, still ignoring the spreading cracks.
“How long would it take you to draw the inscriptions?,” Noah asked while electrical energy crackled around his body.
“I’d say around a five minutes. Why?” Augustus replied immediately.
Noah nodded his head as his voice rang out. “Listen up everyone. We are going to keep the beasts away from Augustus for six minutes, by then the solution to remove them should be ready,” he announced.
The confusion on their faces couldn’t be more evident, as none of them thought they would be leaving alive.
“Uh…..I said the the technique needs a person full of energy, and no one is ready to be that person,” Augustus exclamained in disbelief.
“Unless…..” Augustus froze when he said these words.
“Relax I’m not sacrificing myself,” Noah replied.
Augustus was at loss of words at this point, nothing Noah said made sense, well that wasn’t until Noah cast a spell.
Heaving a sigh, Noah cast the spell that he had used just before he passed out the other time.
‘Speed clones’.
A magic circle expanded in front of Noah, as he felt his body get weak, his eyes tried to blaze with the speed forces energy but he shielded them, but unlike the other time, where the summoning made use of the energy around his body.
This time a thin tendril of electricity shot out of his chest, made contact with the magical circle, and then a hand emerged.
Followed by the full body of the speed clone. The other stepped back at this sight, they had never seen such a thing in their entire lives.
“A summon,” Augustus blurted out in shock.
“Begin the process, this thing is full of energy,” Noah said, as immediately he finished his words the ice stakes, which also served as thick walls shattered.
Magical beasts of different species and levels of power poured out. The team of six now reduced to five formed a circle around the kneeling Augustus drawing something on the clones body.
“Do not let them get too close!,” Noah shouted, stabbing his staff on the ground, as electrical energy flickered into existence, wrapping around the staff, and stretching, almost like a wall of lines.
Those lines thickened, as Noah poured 50mp into this attack he made up on the spot. The thickened lines shot out, clearing a square area, for a few hundred metres in front of Noah.
Noah couldn’t help but marvel at that sight, though his Mana pool had currently been halved, he still wouldn’t mind spending a bit to make sure he wasn’t overwhelmed, if that was even possible.
The other’s also did meaningful things, the two earth wielders, who protected the back of the group, usually worked together to form attacks.
A large ball of earth sepearated from the ground, then a yellow magic circle shone on it, making the ball of earth shoot spikes at the incoming beasts, greatly relieving them of the magical beasts who seemed to have lost the fear of death.
James who was thought couldn’t do much at the beginning of the mission was actually do incredibly well, though that was against tier 1 beasts and a few tier 2’s.
Slashing incredibly fast with his dagger, James decapcitated six tier 1 magical beasts trying to take a bite out of him.
Sighting a bit more than twenty more coming his way. A blue magic circle opened beneath his legs, then tendrills of water shot out of them wrapping around the beasts, giving him enough time to disembowel them.
Mona was basically on par with Noah’s ease, as not a single beast could be seen in front of her for a few tens of meters, or rather they were all frozen. π»πΌπ―πΉοΌπ¨πΏπ΄
The magical beasts resembled ice sculptures, giving that area an eerie and cold atmosphere. Though that changed when more poured out, this time mainly in tier 2.
Noah also noticed the change in the level of the beasts. So far he had only killed around ten or so, but currently he could count over twenty. This scene scared him, not because he didn’t have enough power to kill them, it was because he didn’t want to level up too much.
So far not a single level had been granted to him, only the messages of receiving exp, but if this continued he would definitely break into the upper stages of tier 2.
If he weren’t going for Bozolom this would have been a great chance to level up quick, but it simply put a bad taste in his mouth.
Glancing over at the still working Augustus, Noah wondered if he could learn the rune and maybe sometimes use it to amass magical beasts for his gain.
The system seemingly heard his thoughts, immediately his eyes fell on one of the multiple lines been drawn on his clone, a panel popped up.
[Incomplete inscription found]
[Determining purpose of the incomplete inscription]
[Purpose determined]
[Incomplete grade B inscription]
[Do you want to learn it]
[ Yes/No]
Noah was ecstatic, he actually wondered why the system had never shown him this in the multiple inscriptions he had seen. ‘Maybe I have to will it to work,’ Noah concluded in his mind.
Choosing yes with his mind, Noah waited for the similar feeling of information flowing into his brain, but it never happened.
[[ERROR ERROR ERROR]]
[[USER DOESN’T HAVE ACCESS TO THIS FUNCTION]]
[Terminating completion of the inscription…..]
[Termination complete]
Noah’s heart shattered when he read those words, now he understood why the system never brought this up, but he learnt it the hard way.
His face darkened, while lightning flickered into existence around his figure.
Pointing his palm at the incomplete beasts, while waving have staff at the ones that were directly in front of him, Noah cast a spell he hasn’t used for a while.
[Small Energy Bomb: Conjure a bomb made of condensed electrical energy. That is capable of tier 2 strength [Currently lower stage , Current damage Capability ->200/300. Upgrades when You get to higher levels]
Cost: 50Mp ,Cool down: N/A
A magic circle expanded on his palm, then a ball of energy emerged from it.
BOOOOOMM!.
The explosion was more powerful than Noah expected, as he had to shield his eyes from the dust that rose up.
Using his control over air to clear the dust, Noah’s eyes fell on the destruction the bomb caused.
There was a 20m wide crater, inside of it were different body parts of tier 2 beast. The other’s from the group couldn’t help but take a second to glance at the crater, each of them swallowing lumps of saliva, when they realized that the attack could one-shot them.
Taking a deep breath, Noah parried the claw of a tier 2 badger with his dagger, which broke immediately after.
Clicking his tongue, he stabbed his hand into the beasts chest, gouging out it’s organs in one swift movement.
Spinning his staff and stabbing it into another beast, Noah found that he had taken a step back. All of a sudden the beasts had increased in number.
Then a cry rang out, snapping his head towards the direction, Noah saw a magical beast about to punch James.
The magical beast radiated power in the peak of tier 2.
