Chapter 547 547. ASCENDED
The grounds shattered to converge on the mass of the formerly expanding explosion. It pulled everything towards it as a form of dominance, thus resulting in a chaotic series of events.
That event gave birth to a massive storm that even Noah had to escape lest he got into more trouble. Still, even within that situation, he nodded in affirmation at the new power of his daggers.
Having immersed them in a pool of speed essence for days, not only had the withering and explosive abilities of the daggers been amplified to a greater degree, but his attacks now gave birth to a pulling force birthed by his innate ability as a Speedling to devour any form of energy lower than his.
The event was massive and clothed the sky in its darkness. A huge spherical mass formed at the eye of the pulling force, which had formerly been the explosion of the slashes. Another explosion would ensue the moment it couldn’t handle any more energy.
This was sort of a combo, a stupendous one. The attainable power already crossed the middle stage and hiked towards the very peak of the higher stage. Noah had been willing to test it out, but it surpassed his expectations.
The escaping experts ran with all their might as even if they were already a few kilometers away, the ground continued to shatter. It took all their strength to not be affected by the pulling force taking hold of the area and laying waste to it.
Noah had long since transformed into a silver streak barreling higher into the sky but also farther from it in terms of horizontal distance.
Even within that mess, he could still sense the presence of his opponent, he believed whatever excitement she had would have vanished. After all, it didn’t matter what she did the moment she was within the blast radius of the second explosion she would surely die, or be very close to that state.
A deep purple and silver light rose from the depths of the pulling force and those lights soon began to struggle against the other. They both belonged to Noah, but they got brighter and brighter as energy was ground till it returned to its original state. Mana. b𝚍ov𝚕.𝚝
It felt strange how although his attack was birthed from the speed essence, it could still utilize mana. Moreover, this was what made it very dangerous. An explosion of pure mana would be disastrous.
Truth be told Noah had pushed those daggers to their limit. In the moments of waiting for the veiled lady to prepare, he had pushed speed essence into the materials of the daggers, and although they could take it due to their prolonged exposure to that form of energy, he had pushed all of the stored essence into that attack.
He could still launch smaller-scaled slashes, but even at that, the blades would need a while to return to their sturdiest state.
Sure his daggers could take more essence than they could before, but they still were not weapons born purely out of the speed essence. They possessed clear structural limits.
An eruption of force occurred at some point, and the sight of a huge deep-purple; almost black figure possessing several long arms originating from a spherical body, was revealed to the world.
Its many arms rapidly struck the shattering ground in an attempt to leave the perimeters of that pulling force. But even at that, chunks of its body were ripped away to converge on the bright silver and purple mass in the distance.
Noah and the veiled lady were escaping in the same direction, but he was faster. While she had to suffer escaping from the very center of the event.
The fact that she had even accomplished such a feat told of her great prowess. It would be harder to kill her than Noah thought.
Chunks of the huge octopus-like figure continued to break off and fly towards the growing mass of mana like a stream, but the veiled lady continued to rebuild those shattering arms whilst she cursed Noah from the depths of her heart.
Barely ten seconds had passed since that event started, but danger swept the lands like a ripple. A whirling sound suddenly sprung into existence, and with it, the pulling force vanished. A sign that it had reached its limits.
Panic penetrated the lady’s calmness, and her construct transformed into a spear-like object to streak across the regions with blazing speed.
Noah on the other hand stopped and shot sideways to intercept the escaping lady. She was the reason he had unleashed something that strong, he wouldn’t let it go to waste.
His figure vanished, achieving massively hypersonic speeds.
Before the expert could react to the impending danger, she found her construct shattering to give way to the passage of a tiny figure.
Noah took hold of the lady and in the short span of an instant, allowed speed essence to encase her, after which he sent her shooting towards the roaring whirling sound of intense energies.
All this happened in but a moment as the regions found a silver streak approaching the purple and silver mass, traveling at Mach 80!
Before the lady could respond she had gotten dangerously close to the mass. Terror filled her heart when she found her mana unable to affect the silver cocoon she had been placed in.
A battle cry left her mouth as she called upon her darkness and wind element to give birth to as many armors she could fit on her skin within those instants.
Unfortunately, her mind still shook from impending doom. The seconds seemed to turn to hours for horror and the fear of death forced her into making a decision. The decision to activate a premature technique.
It was the most powerful technique that could be possibly learned by someone of her status; a veiled one of the immortals.
Borrowing power from Cregar herself!
This was an ability servants of the immortals could afford, but unlike the more talented experts at her level, she had not completely mastered it, and it could lead to her death. The chances were high.
Nevertheless, potential death was better than certain death.
“Born from dust, raised to power. Anointed to serve. Through the veil, a connection was made. Hear my voice oh Cregar; a servant chooses to utilize your power.” The lady chanted these words and her veil lit up with multicolored symbols even she did not understand. Then a cry of agony left her mouth.
Noah watched the silver streak slam into the purple and silver mass.
An initial blast of pure force barreled over the lands at velocities far quicker than his peak.
Noah felt those waves slam into Muliix’s material and send him flying, but then the real explosion unfolded and a blinding purple, silver, and blue light washed over the lands, followed by an expanding wave of destructive energy.
The grounds disappeared, as an expanding white fireball ascended into the sky, leaving a column of pure whiteness at its base.
The heat blast from the event made short work of the ground and the shock waves turned the formerly destroyed grounds into even more mess.
Nevertheless, a series of vast black magical circles unfolded above the explosion and a pillar of blackness fell from those circles to smash into the expanding explosion and obliterate its existence!
Calmness filled the regions immediately after, but an immensely heavy aura fell on the surrounding miles mere moments later.
Noah recognized the owner of the presence and felt curiosity fill his mind. But also the realization of that turn of events.
He truly did not understand what had occurred. But the odds of him winning without pulling out his big guns had dropped to nigh zero.
“Heir of the god of speed. Your existence has been a subject of discussion amongst the many servants of the immortals. Today you have pushed me into this decision. Your existence truly is worthy of the importance given to it.” the lady’s voice bellowed across the regions with a level of power that felt choking even for her only audience.
The black pillar soon disappeared and Noah had to watch it happen. He evaluated his options and shook his head when the lady revealed that her power had ascended from close to the peak of the fourth tier, till she was a Quasi tier 5.
