Chapter 200 200. INFLUENCE
‘I see…’ Noah thought percieving his surroundings in slow motion.
‘They obviously feel confused about my power. Which is why there are four of them. But isn’t this overkill,’ Noah clicked his tongue, casually walking out of their midst.
While Noah remained an extraordinary expert, that many middle-staged cultivators would be too many for even him. At least until they were in a proper fight.
He wasn’t going to go all-out in that place, even if it could apparently withstand tier 4 attacks.
‘I want peace. This tiny show of abilities should be enough to keep them in place. Hopefully,’ Noah thought climbing his bed to sit on it. Then everything continued normally.
With blank eyes, Noah watched his opponents literally collapse on themselves, their mouths expressing annoyed grunts.
The others in the room who were casually spectating, stood up from their various positions in utter disbelief.
To their perception, Noah had simply vanished from the midst of the five to appear on his bed.
“What the fuck was that….is he a Deviant” Most muttered.
“I’m afraid i can’t do that,” Noah coldly announced from his elevated spot.
Seeing that the five looked ready to cast spells, he quickly opened his mouth to speak.
“Please do not forget our location. We could be under surveillance, and your actions could cost you your entry into this great guild,” he calmly explained, knowing that the same applied to him. Hopefully they weren’t actually watching.
Understanding his words as pure facts, the five regained their composure, but that didn’t change their feelings towards him for humiliating them.
Clearly sensing their bloodlust, Noah’s eyes shone with a tinge of his own, his mouth quickly opening to release words.
“If you wish to retaliate, let’s meet on the field. I’m happy to take you on anytime,” his eyes literally shone with a dangerous light. His words directed towards all present in the room.
“And i assure you that a you won’t be escaping a fight with me with your lives intact,” he added menacingly, and the room immediately turned chilly. But he stopped before any adverse effects of his emotions could occur.
Needless to say his audience were spooked out by his odd behavior, but none took his words to heart.
“He’s insanely strong for a lower-staged cultivator, but against all of us he’s only courting death,” those words moved between themselves.
Quickly digging into his meal after threatening a proper group of cultivators who wielded enough power to devastate cities, Noah lost himself in the taste of his meal.
He inevitably placed orders for two more, and ended up finishing them in record time.
Laying on his bed to continue his studies, he eventually stopped after an hour or so, and decided to get some shut eye.
His sleep like most he had experienced, was dreamless. Only filled with darkness.
Slowly regaining consciousness, Noah took a deep breath, rolling a bit on that divinely laid bed, before sitting up.
Sweeping his gaze on the room, he saw that his roommates were suprisingly all awake. Cultivating.
Each one of them sat in different positions in the room relatively far apart from theirselves, clearly in a trance of sorts and Noah could see their bodies glow. The different lights indicating their elemental affinities.
He weirdly found that sight normal, afterall they were middle-staged experts, such discipline was expected if they wanted to advance in power.
The only issue about that suprisingly beautiful scene was that Noah knew he couldn’t cultivate currently.
The bottleneck which could only be overcome by the feature he gained from having the system; levelling up, really frustrated him, but he hoped to escape it soon.
Determination surged in Noah’s mind at that point. He would do his best to gather as many beasts as possible, since even after the first dungeon run, he would need more beasts.
Getting off his bed, Noah wondered what exactly he could do.
They weren’t allowed to leave the room even if the metallic door lay very close to them.
He couldn’t practice his elements since such a sight would place too much attention on himself, something he didn’t want.
He wanted his roommates and everyone whi would see him to underestimate his prowess, so he could totally blow their minds with his feats.
The only activity he could really do was read. And even that had gotten boring lately.
Making no progress whatsoever had made that activity a chore instead of a fun experiment.
A deep sigh eventually escaped Noah’s mouth at the evaluation of his current situation.
“Being amidst people sucks,” he muttered falling on his bed with another sigh.
Casually gazing at the ceiling of that Incredible room, Noah thought to the mulitiple functions it had.
Apparently the room could increase or decrease its temperature allowing them train their resistance to such environments.
It remained only one of the over twenty different functions, but it piqued Noah’s curiosity, who suddenly wanted to understand how much heat his body could handle in its new state.
Immediately getting down from his bed, he walked towards a seemingly empty wall, and tapped his finger on it four times.
That action resulted in a series of Inscriptions flickering into existence.
Interacting with those shining lines using his mental waves, Noah found the feature he wanted and quickly expanded on it.
He wanted to limit it to one spot in the room, and luckily even that feature was available.
Picking a spot next to his bed, Noah glanced back to see a blue inscription light up on the floor, creating a cylindrical area where that feature could easily be edited.
Quickly walking over to it, Noah sat crossed-leg inside the space and his consciousness promptly expanded to activate the functions.
What looked like a lever appeared in his mind, the higher he pulled it the higher the temperature, the lower he pulled it the lower the temperature.
But before he started, his black garment vanished, and Muliixs material covered his groin like an underwear.
There were also grades of the temperature, which went from tier 1 to tier 3 higher-stage.
Immediately beginning to pull the lever past tier 1, Noah barely felt anything even when it reached the very peak of tier 2. Only that the air had gotten warmer, barely.
Even if the actual temperature had already surpassed 300°C.
The lever soon broke into tier 3. Noah beginning to feel his environment get reasonably warm.
Halfway through the lower-stage which consted of three small grades, Noah began to feel really warm.
At the peak of the lower-stage he felt as though he had been dumped inside hot water. But he could still comfortably bear it.
The middle-stage arrived and the temperature took a dramatic increase. The water had begun to boil.
At this point Noah was already drenched with sweat, and his hair stuck to his face and back.
It wasn’t until he arrived at the peak of the middle-stage did all his hair catch fire, and his skin began to receive bad burns.
Noah felt unable to breath at this point, and even his sweat didn’t exist anymore.
Multiple patches of his skin burnt under prolonged exposure to that heat. And he eventually had to reduce the over 1600°C temperature, when he began to get burnt faster than his body could heal.
Suddenly dropping the temperature to the cold level of the lower-stage of tier 3; that 5m radius of magically confined space, experienced a slight quake.
But Noah’s attention wasn’t on that event, since he found out that his body healed far faster under the influence of the cold.
