Chapter 167 167. SNAKES VALLEY
Glancing at the massive landmasses a few miles from him, Noah didn’t hesitate to run on the mountain chain as soon as he arrived.
His figure zoomed up the rocky terrain without any hindrance. Landing on a once again horizontal path, Noah’s eyes scanned the deadly looking surface before him.
He almost couldn’t call it that, as spikes protruded out of the mountains surface for kilometers, but he already had a solution.
Ice shot out on a linear path before him, and it continued moving.
His figure dashed forward at that point, and he never stopped pouring essence into that makeshift path.
A bottle soon appeared in his hand, and he quickly drank its contents and felt his core bubble with energy.
He soon crossed the mountain range, and stopped fueling the icy path. But began to fall at that point. 𝚍n𝚘v𝚕.𝚘𝚛𝚐
Cudgel landed on his palm at that point, and he didn’t hesitate to throw it downwards; before allowing it grow.
Cudgels figure barreled up in sheer size, and it collision with the forest below it caused an explosion, great in size to burst out.
Noah disregarded the destructive consequence of his actions, and placed his feet on Cudgels surface. His figure turned to streak almost immediately, as he ran down his staffs large structure.
Noah kept Cudgel in a moderate size so as to not allow it get seen by any surrounding settlements. Nevertheless, its figure remained large.
He soon arrived on the messy ground, and Cudgel instantly shrunk to shoot back into the sky.
Noah’s mind calculated his current position, and he felt glad to realize that only the valleys and the lake remained before reaching the city.
He had been on the road for two days now. This was as a result of the rests he took along the way. He also utilized those periods of rest it to cultivate his mind.
Noah felt himself go downhill, then a sharp elevation followed, and he immediately arrived at a drastically different environment than he was used to.
Coming to an abrupt stop, Noah felt his eyes widen at the sight before him.
“Immense,” He muttered. His eyes lay on a series of hills and large ponds of sparkling blue water.
Noah couldn’t sight smooth land for miles; only linear looking landmasses beside a long river of shimmering water.
He had arrived at region called the Snakes valley, and he quickly understood the reason for that.
From the height he stood, Noah could trace what resembled a curvy snake which was formed by the river and long masses of land.
The whole place was coloured with deep purple. From trees, to the grass.
A weird aura permeated that scenery, and he didn’t hesitate to cut a blade of grass from beneath him, as the strange purple began from where he stood.
[You have come in contact with a poisonous plant]
[Tier: Below 1]
[Note: This plant isn’t naturally occurring. It has been mutated due to the blood of a tier 5 serpent]
Noah felt his mind buzz with shock at that prompt.
The miles upon miles of purpleness was as a result of one snake’s blood!
His shock soon turned to excitement. He recalled the requirements to upgrade his dagger. A tier 4 poisonous plant being required.
The only issue was the possibility of such a powerful organism existing there. Even if it existed, he doubted that it had not been harvested, or even eaten by a beast.
Stillon that thought, Noah noticed the lack of beasts in the area. His eyes scanned his environment even more, and he quickly sent his consciousness forth, but that proved to be useless.
Had the area become an unhabitable environment due to the event that occurred there, he wondered.
‘I’ll be back here wherever I have the chance,’ Noah thought, he didn’t want to embark on missions along the way, as they would delay him too much.
His eyes landed on the liquid below him, and he felt it was time to continue his journey, only this time, on a different surface.
Essence moved, and he shot forward. It took his figure a few seconds to near the surface of the river, and Noah felt his focus reach its max almost instantly.
His feet touched the shimmering liquid and he immediately felt his body begin to sink.
‘Steps! Noah, steps!,’ his mind screamed at him, as he struggled to gain balance on the liquid.
He sank in slow motion to himself, and soon felt his confidence begin to wane.
With each movement of his feet, he seemed to paddle his way deeper into the river, and his confidence took a powerful blow due to that.
Doubts began to pile up In his mind about the possibility of the action he planned to take, but something within him refused to accept failure, and memories of his Incredible feats played in his mind.
Noah’s mind trembled in unknown excitement, and he felt about to move, when a dangerous presence struck his senses.
Something large wrapped around his waist. As Noah watched in slow motion a reptilian limb pull him into the river.
Speed essence rushed into his nostrils and he remained able to breathe. This allowed him to focus on what exactly was going on.
During his dive into the river, he managed to ascertain that he was being attacked by a magical beast.
But things turned dangerous when he noticed five large serpents surrounding him, all radiating power well in the lower-stage of tier 3.
Managing to grab the tail of the snake trying to drown him; he twisted his body mid float, and flung it.
Then did his eyes reveal to him how potentially dangerous his situation really was. Over one hundred tier 2 snakes floated around him, which was already a few tens of meters below the rivers surface.
They all barreled towards him not wanting him to get any chance to act, but that failed.
Noah quickly threw a punch towards the swarm, and the power inside that limb pushed them backwards, but they remained mostly unhurt.
Their hisses almost deafened him as the tier 3 seemed to give the weaker ones instructions; forcing them to attack the clearly not-drowning individual.
Not wanting to get pulled deeper into the river for his Instincts informed him that something he currently could’ve dream of handling lay quietly down there; he tried beating the water around him with his legs while activating the the speed force.
This pushed him upwards, but he soon found that a tight array of snake’s lay above him.
How they managed to bypass his senses left him baffled, but he didn’t place too much of his focus on that matter.
The liquid around him gave birth to spears of ice in their tens, and he didn’t hesitate to send them forward while he himself shot upwards at breakneck speed.
His attacks skewered tens of the serpents and he soon found himself bursting out of the river.
But the environment before him had changed drastically. Noah sensed and saw hundreds of serpents around him, and tens of them held power at the peak of the lower-stage.
