Chapter 117 117. DEAD

The finely dressed figure of the head of the Deligon family, could be seen atop his pet wyvern, Herx, who currently hovered high above the ground, its large body attracting some attention.

Beneath them was a huge crater that had a lot of debris around it, the light of spells could be seen once in a every few seconds, as around fifty people radiating power between the peak of tier 2 and lower stage of tier 3, moved to clear the broken buildings and rescue the people trapped beneath the pile of rubbles.

The middle aged man whose name would remain unknown for now, had arrived at the site a few hours ago.

Traveling for a bit over a day on his pet, he managed to cross an amazing distance in that period of time, although he didn’t make any stops, because he didn’t need to rest.

Multiple thoughts swirled in the powerful mind of this seasoned cultivator. Each time his eyes landed on the hole, and the Incredible destruction around it, he would shake his head.

Personally his thoughts about the power of who did this, told him that the person didn’t seem to be any less stronger than he was, probably even stronger.

“Ah…Good evening sir,” A young looking tier 4 cultivator, greeted immediately he arrived at the middle aged man’s position in the sky, his eyes occasionally darting to the wyvern that didn’t seem to care about his presence.

“How are the rescues?,” The middle aged man immediately asked without responding to the salutation. π—Όπ―π—ΉοΌŽπžπ˜

“It’s going well. It’s been four days since we started, and we’ve managed to rescue around 700 people,” The cultivator replied not bothered by the man’s disrespect.

“I see,” The middle aged man commented, “Are you a representative of the royal family,” The man asked.

“Yes, but they are the remaining,” The young looking cultivator answered, pointing at four floating figures, among which were, elder Malachi, lady Urel and sir Kreg, with one other man who felt stronger than the others, his figure at the forefront of the existences.

“It’s been a while, Lord of the Deligon family,” The man leading them teased, his hand outstretched to the middle aged man who immediately shook it.

“It’s been I think a century and half or so. How is working for the royal family, and I see your cultivation level is keeping up,” The middle aged man laughed.

“It’s been….Hmmmmm. I can’t totally explain my experience,” The man replied with a short laugh.

The middle aged man swept his gaze on the remaining four cultivators, a sigh escaping his mouth at how strong they were.

“So what do you think about that?,” The middle aged man asked, his attention now on the ground.

“It seemed to have been done by a tier 4 existence. But we don’t know why. Pedro wasn’t much of a big deal politically, and there has been silence from the old noble families. We didn’t expect any attack of such scale,” The man explained with a thoughtful expression.

“But we do have rogue cultivators,” The middle aged man furrowed his brows, “One of them might have noticed my son’s entry, or gotten Information, and decided to attack,” He explained.

“I do want to see him, but I’ve been informed that he was taken to the central city,” The middle aged man sighed.

“You may be correct about your point, but still, the timing was off. Unless they wanted to kill Nigel, which they obviously didn’t, then why did they even attack. Or was their plan only to kill the town’s people,” The leader of the representatives shook his head.

A moment of silence passed among the six existences until the middle aged man talked, “At this point we can only wait to see if any other moves are made.”

Everyone nodded at those words but suddenly lady Urel spoke.

“According to survivors, the attack was a massive golden pillar that struck the mansion with a powerful force. And that a first explosion happened before this massive one. Which is why there is a smaller crater over there,” She explained pointing at a hole which looked tiny compared to the major one.

A frown appeared on their faces at that point, the representatives of the royal family having a more deeper frown than the middle aged man.

They talked for a while mostly theories about what or who could have attacked.

Apparently there were many individuals which such power who had become criminals to the nations.

The middle aged man eventually departed to his mansion, he had seen what he wanted to, and the sight made him slightly worried for reasons all noble families that heard the news knew. The fear of a possible civil war.

The representatives of the royal family gathered somewhere close to the site, during nightfall, stern expressions on their faces as they discussed about their main worry.

“You’ve confirmed that the smaller hole was from the cell’s beneath the mansion,” The serious voice of the leader sounded, his relatively young-looking face having turned cold.

“Yes,” Lady Urel nodded with a slightly worried look.

“I hope none of you think he actually caused all this,” Lady Urel asked, no reply coming returning to her.

“Impossible! We all know tier 2’s don’t have that type of power,” She tried to cleanse the doubt that had begun to grow inside her.

“Malachi did say he was full of surprises, and we watched a few scenes of his fights too,” Sir Kreg spoke with a helpless shrug, his eyes landing on the person in question.

“He did, but even I find it hard to believe he had such power. It’s simply impossible,” Sir Malachi spoke calmly.

A few seconds of silence passed, their aura-less figures in deep thoughts.

“This topic would have been more valid if we believed he were alive. After all you confirmed that the oath activated,” The leader suddenly said.

“Yes it did. He’s definitely dead,” Lady Urel sighed.

“That must mean that during the commotion he killed a few town’s people,” Sir Kreg spoke.

“I still do not believe he had that much power, but he he could have had in his possession, a very powerful treasure,” Sir Malachi’s pointed out, the heads of his group nodding in approval.

“We didn’t, and still don’t know his origins, so we can’t rule that out of the possible scenarios,” Lady Urel spoke.

“But weather he did it, or a rogue cultivator did, we can’t ask him. He’s dead,” She added slowly standing up.

“You’re right. It only saddens me that such an individual was wasted. He could have been a great addition to our ranks,” Sir Malachi sighed also standing up.

“What do we do now?,” Lady Urel eventually asked, “The royals will be disappointed about this outcome, but there is nothing we could’ve possibly done,” she added.

“I’ll inform them about the turn of events, after all I was assigned as your leader,” The leader said standing up and beginning to float.

“I just hope the young man who helped us in the initial plan to get Noah becomes something worthwhile,” The leader added shooting upwards, the others nodding and doing the same.

With this decision, the royals received the news and buried Noah in their minds, their thoughts never for once crossings the possibility of him being alive, after all, a tier 4 oath had killed him.
