480 Warfare (8)
Dilan didn’t know why a name appeared in his mind but knowing the reason behind it was secondary.
It was more important to annihilate the remaining Chaos Monsters, whose Swirls of Chaos had been destroyed by Kaeldur’s action.
The black Demon had used every bit of unsealed power to damage and deactivate the Swirls of Chaos all around him. This made things a lot easier for Dilan and his people, especially since they had to use the monster corpses to nourish the Chaos Islands.
The Swirls of Chaos of the Chaos Islands had been damaged as well, but their condition was much better than one could imagine.
Kaeldur disappeared after he had helped out Dilan, leaving him and his people to sort the mess he had created on the battlefield.
“I really want to meet them again…if this Eclipse Child of Chaos is really as powerful as he said, I want to fight him!!” Dilan exclaimed before he spread out his mana to collect all corpses around him.
He subconsciously separated each of their Chaos Essence Crystal from the monsters before he appeared right below the other Chaos Islands. Afterward, he released all Chaos Monster Corpses without further delay. The Chaos Islands devoured the corpses and they were nourished to a great extent.
“That should be more than enough,” He figured, and Dilan diverted his attention from the four Chaos Islands. His head flicked over to the group of more than ten thousand Ascenders that were fighting more than 50,000 Chaos Monsters.
pa(nd)a no vel They were doing perfectly fine, especially with Yvonne’s Army of Undead by their side. The Undead might not be as powerful as Chaos Monsters were but their special traits were more than advantageous.
Undead didn’t feel any pain and it was rare for them to die as long as certain parts of their bodies were still intact.
Killing one Undead at the same rank as the Chaos Monsters required multiple Chaos Monsters to attack them simultaneously. The Ascenders on Yvonne’s side made use of this when the young woman with the [Angel of Death] Origin ability controlled her Undead to turn into meat shields and protect the Ascenders.
“Good…let’s finish this!” Dilan was confident of his Ascenders’ victory who were fighting more than a hundred thousand more Chaos Monsters. Thus, he diverted his focus straight to the masses of monsters that had yet to enter the battlefield. Their strength had already deteriorated due to Kaeldur’s influence while Dilan’s power had been on the rise.
His excitement knew no bounds and combining both the adrenaline he felt and the excitement that flooded his body resulted in him dashing forward. He slashed in all directions without another thought and ended up annihilating most of the remaining monsters using every bit of strength that resided within his body.
He lost track of time as he charged through the monsters that began to fall to the ground like fireflies. Every single attack of his was a killing blow and soon was overflowing with corpses, blood, and innards of mutilated corpses while the number of living beings was dwindling rapidly.
Dilan was not sure how much time had passed but his body began to twitch. His muscles were on the verge of tearing apart and his appearance was nothing short of horrendous. Blood was smeared on his entire body, his right arm twisted at an angle that made many Ascenders look at their Leader in shock.
“Don’t bother about me. Keep killing until the very last Chaos Monster has been obliterated!” Dilan ordered with a weak smile on his face before he slumped down to the ground.
‘Looks like my body couldn’t handle increasing my Mana to more than 1300 Units temporarily, in addition to Rory’s Draconic Power…’ He thought while lying down on his back. The ground was soaking wet from all the blood and a foul stench entered his nostrils but Dilan couldn’t care less about that right now.
His arm had been twisted when he finally completed providing nourishment to the four Chaos Islands. They had finally matured, after devouring a few million Chaos Monster corpses each. Dilan didn’t really know what happened but his right arm had nearly been ripped out of his shoulder. In the end, he was able to save his arm but it had been a close call.
The Warfare against the Hordes of Chaos and Destruction was basically over and the others were only using their last bits of strength to kill the remaining Chaos Monsters.
Meanwhile, Dilan was resting in the middle of the battlefield, unable to move anymore. The adrenaline and excitement that had forced him to continue moving and killing had dispersed the moment his subconscious told him that the battle was over.
“How many died?” He asked in a weak voice when he noticed that someone had appeared by his side. Dilan didn’t even have to open his eyes to figure out who had appeared next to him. He knew who had come to him and where every single member of his group was located right now.
The Mana that leaked naturally from his body told him much more than he wanted to know.
“The casualties from our core group are less than 50, but we’re missing more than 10 Ascenders for now. They might have been injured due to a bunch of attacks that destroyed the surrounding area. As for the other Ascenders, several hundred casualties have been found until now. They might surmount to more than a thousand,” Kathrine said while she went down to the ground as well.
She was also exhausted and sat down on the ground.
Kathrine lay down next to Dilan, staring into the starry sky of the dark night. A sigh escaped her lips and her eyes moved slowly to the blood-soaked figure of their leader.
“What are you thinking about?” She asked after a while. Her heart was thumping wildly and Kathrine was trying to get it under control.
Unfortunately, that was not easy because Dilan’s current appearance was awe-striking. His long eyelashes fluttered as he tried to keep himself awake while the blood all over his body and face made it clear that he was no less than a grim reaper.
He was fierce and merciless when he was required to kill without feeling the slightest bits of guilt, but he could also be gentle and caring.
“What am I thinking about? Probably what to do now that the Hordes of Chaos and Destruction have been eradicated in Camsun. I will fall asleep soon and advance to the third Tier. Afterward…I don’t know…it might be time to start searching for my sisters…I guess, that’s it…” Dilan said while stifling a yawn.
He had already received a few system notifications, including that he had completed the abyss-difficulty advancement mission. Tremendous powers were circulating through his body and it was about time that he would advance to the next Tier.
Dilan didn’t know how much of a difference his occupation’s enhancements would have while advancing from the second to the third Tier, but what he could tell was that the others had become a lot stronger after advancing.
The Warfare against the Hordes of Chaos and Destruction had ended rather boringly but that was mostly because he, Rory, and Kaeldur had been way too strong.
Their individual powers had been more than enough to obliterate all Chaos Monsters in Camsun. The Hordes of Chaos and Destruction in the other places were still present and wreaking havoc but those on Camsun had been defeated.
Only the fully matured Chaos Islands were left behind, and Dilan was quite interested to figure out more about the Gates on the Chaos Islands.
However, what he was even more interested in was advancing to the third Tier, absorbing all the Chaos Essence Crystals and searching for his sisters.
It was time to check up on them and make sure that they were living a good life.
If their life was miserable, Dilan would rescue them by all means even if that might end up in a huge blood bath.
He was ready to give his all for the sake of his sisters!
