Chapter 476: Blood Lord Domain

  • Next Chapter

The shockwave from the collision tore through the Great Hall like an atmospheric detonation. Pitch-black demon fire and compressed, blood-red spatial energy violently canceled each other out, sending waves of raw kinetic force cascading across the floating marble fragments. The force was enough to obliterate three massive obsidian pillars, sending heavy stone debris tumbling into the swirling spatial abyss below.

Kyle felt the immense recoil shudder through the hilt of his dark shadow blade, vibrating up his forearm and rattling the bone joints in his shoulder. The pitch-black metal of his gauntlet hissed as it absorbed the localized spatial friction, sending a sharp, stinging heat straight into his palm. He didn’t fight the backward momentum; instead, he used the explosive kinetic push to execute an acrobatic backflip, landing lightly on a five-foot chunk of hovering marble sixty feet away.

His boots skidded across the slick, frost-dusted surface of the block, leaving two white streaks before he brought himself to a complete halt. His left leg trembled ever so slightly—a quiet, betraying twitch from the raw strain his core had endured back in the cathedral.

Across the shattered hall, Lord Cassian remained standing on the top step of his dais. He hadn’t shifted his posture by a single inch, but the blood-red spatial barrier hovering over his right palm flickered wildly. Right in the center of the crimson glow, a hair-thin, smoking crack marred the pristine surface where Kyle’s *Void Divider* had made contact.

Cassian slowly raised his hand to eye level. He stared at the microscopic fissure in his defensive spell, watching a tiny wisp of dark demon smoke curl upward from the fractured spatial edge. A cold, terrifying silence hung over him before his face slowly contorted into a snarl of ancient, offended pride.

"You touched my barrier," Cassian whispered. His voice was dangerously low, lacking its previous aristocratic polish, echoing like rusted iron dragging across granite vaulting. "A lower-realm mongrel... managed to scratch my domain."

"I did more than scratch it," Kyle replied coldly, his slitted dark eyes tracking the four crimson nerve cables still pulsating behind the vampire patriarch’s back. He lowered his center of gravity, adjusting his grip on the dark shadow blade until the steel hummed in resonance with his breathing. "Your barrier is leaking mana, Cassian. The throne isn’t refilling your core fast enough to patch the holes."

"Insolent trash!" Cassian roared, dropping all pretense of nobility.

He thrust both hands forward, his long crimson claws digging into the empty air as if grasping invisible threads of reality. His snow-white robes billowed backward as a sudden, violent updraft erupted around the dais.

*VAMPIRIC ART: CRIMSON DELUGE!*

The swirling cosmos of dark crimson and violet nebula clouds on the ceiling violently inverted. The liquid space churned into deep, localized whirlpools, and from their centers, thousands of blood-red needles materialized out of thin air. Each needle was four feet long, forged from hyper-compressed, localized spatial mass and pure, toxic vampiric essence. They hovered tip-down, vibrating with a high-pitched, metallic whine that made the ears bleed.

With a single, violent wave of Cassian’s arm, the rain of lethal crimson steel descended upon the room like a localized hurricane.

"Seraphina, left quadrant! Falcon, cover Yua!" Kyle barked, his pitch-black demon gauntlet flaring with a violent, dark light as he swept his dark shadow blade in a blinding, circular arc.

*Demon Art: Black Lotus Shield!*

A swirling vortex of dark demon fire exploded outward from Kyle’s blade, expanding into a layered petal barrier of jet-black flames that intercepted the descending crimson needles.

*TH-TH-TH-TH-TH-TH-DUM!*

The impact was deafening. The needles slammed into the black lotus, exploding into thick red mist and concussive shockwaves upon contact. The raw, continuous impact force pushed Kyle’s floating marble block down twenty feet into the abyss, the stone cracking under the sheer weight of the bombardment. Spikes of pain shot through Kyle’s lower back as he held the black lotus rigid, his teeth gritting together so hard he tasted copper on his tongue.

To his left, Seraphina stood at the heart of her *Tidal Sanctuary*. Her azure hair whipped around her face like liquid strands, her eyes burning with the cold, absolute majesty of her royal bloodline. Her ocean trident spun in her hands like a luminous blue wheel, generating a massive, churning water vortex that absorbed and deflected hundreds of crimson needles, turning them into harmless red droplets that splashed uselessly against her barrier.

"Falcon, now!" Seraphina called out, her voice ringing clear despite the sweat glistening on her pale brow. "The needles are creating a wet mana field in the center! The air is saturated!"

"Got it!" Falcon shouted, her voice echoing with a fierce, unbroken spirit.

She crouched low on her hovering stone, her dark brown skin slick with sweat under the violent violet light of the hall. Her four dark brown tails whipped wildly behind her back, their tips swelling as the endothermic green poison fire coating them flared to ten times its normal size. The flames didn’t emit heat; instead, they sucked the temperature out of the room, turning the airborne water droplets into jagged, emerald ice-sludge.

"Poison Fire Art: Verdant Cleansing!"

Falcon swept her four tails forward in a sweeping horizontal wave. The toxic green flames hit the wet mana field created by Seraphina’s water, causing a violent, exothermic chemical vapor reaction. A dense, roaring cloud of superheated, acid-green steam exploded across the middle of the hall, dissolving hundreds of incoming spatial needles before they could reach the group. The steam hissed viciously as it ate through the floating stone fragments, turning marble into bubbling gray powder.

Through the blinding curtain of toxic green steam, Yua moved like a dark, bloodthirsty phantom.

She had coated her boots in condensed blood-mana, allowing her to sprint along the vertical surfaces of the floating obsidian pillar fragments. She bounded from stone to stone with terrifying speed, her dark red eyes locked onto the leftmost crimson cable connecting Cassian to the throne. Her bare arms were mapped with glowing red veins as she channeled every ounce of her demon lineage into her fingers.

"Die, old leech!" Yua yelled, leaping from a floating block with her crimson claws extended in a cross-slash position.

*Blood Claw: Triple Fracture!*

Three razor-thin ribbons of condensed blood-mana cut through the acidic steam, aimed straight for the thick, pulsating cable.

Cassian’s eyes flicked toward her with supreme contempt. "Primitive beast. You dare approach my presence?"

He didn’t move his arms. He didn’t even shift his footing. Instead, the air around Yua suddenly thickened to the density of solid iron. A localized spatial lock snapped shut around her mid-air, freezing her momentum instantly and locking her body forty feet above the floor, trapped like an insect in clear amber.

Yua strained against the invisible pressure, her muscles bulging and her claws twitching as the spatial lock began to squeeze her ribs. "Che... monster!" she spat, blood leaking from the corner of her mouth.

"Falcon!" Seraphina cried out, turning her trident toward Yua’s position.

"Too late," Cassian sneered, his red eyes flashing with cruel satisfaction. He raised two fingers, intending to crush Yua’s spatial lock completely and flatten her body into a crimson pulp. "One down."

Before his fingers could snap, a shadow erased the light above his head.

Kyle had used the cover of Falcon’s green steam cloud and the distraction of Yua’s attack to execute a high-speed spatial step, appearing directly above the dais. He didn’t waste breath on a battle cry. His shadow blade was pulled back behind his shoulder, the dark steel completely engulfed in a silent, dense black hole of concentrated dark-element mana that devoured the ambient light around it.

’Snow, analyze spatial lock structure!’ Kyle commanded internally, his heart hammering against his ribs like a war drum.

’Targeting spatial nexus point in Cassian’s left wrist,’ Snow responded instantly inside his mind, her calm tone providing a razor-sharp anchor amidst the chaos. ’The lock is anchored to his manual gesture. Strike the wrist nexus now!’

Kyle didn’t hesitate for a microsecond. He drove his shadow blade downward, not at Cassian’s chest—which was still protected by the throne’s primary reservoir—but directly at the glowing spatial nexus point on his left wrist.

*CRACK!*

The silent black hole at the tip of Kyle’s blade slammed into Cassian’s wrist barrier. The raw, anti-elemental property of the dark void ate through the vampire’s spatial mana in an instant. The localized spatial lock holding Yua forty feet in the air shattered like brittle glass under the sudden disruption of spatial pressure, sending Yua tumbling safely onto a floating stone below, coughing and gasping for air.

Cassian let out a sharp, high-pitched hiss of genuine pain as Kyle’s dark steel bit two inches deep into his forearm. The pitch-black demon fire coating the blade instantly ignited inside the wound, burning into his ancient vampire flesh and searing his blood vessels black, preventing his high-tier regeneration from closing the gash.

"You dare... wound my noble body?!" Cassian shrieked, his face twisting from aristocratic coldness into a hideous, bat-like mask of ancient fury. His fangs extended past his chin, and his pale skin turned gray and veiny.

A massive shockwave of pure, unrefined blood-mana erupted from Cassian’s core, radiating outward in a expanding red sphere that blasted Kyle backward sixty feet.

Kyle crossed his gauntlets to block the brunt of the force, but the kinetic energy was overwhelming. He slammed hard into a floating marble fragment, the impact knocking the air clean out of his lungs. He skidded across three more stone blocks before bringing himself to a halt, kneeling on one knee as he wiped a thick streak of dark blood from his lips.

Cassian stood on his dais, his left arm dripping black, unholy blood that sizzled as it hit the bone-ash steps, burning holes through the ancient stone. The vampire patriarch raised his bleeding arm, his crimson eyes glowing with an insane, apocalyptic light that cast long, twisted shadows across the shattered hall.

"I will not just kill you, Kyle Conner," Cassian roared, his voice shaking the foundation of the High Plateau as the four cables behind his back began to swell to twice their original thickness, drawing deeper upon the Spire’s primary key. "I will tear your soul from your skin, unravel your memories, and feed your companions to my lower thralls until there is nothing left of you but blood on my marble floor!"

Kyle slowly pushed himself up from his knee, his shadow blade held firmly in his right hand. Beside him, Falcon, Seraphina, and Yua regrouped, their bodies bruised and weary, but their eyes burning with the exact same unbroken resolve. The true battle for the Crimson Ridge had only just begun.
