Chapter 357: Strange Ability

"Don’t tell me that’s what I’m thinking." Kyle grumbled, watching the small blue glow on Reze palm.

Unlike the beam blast which was projected by the mana stones powering the suit, this attack seemed more distinct. Silent without the static sound, with the emersion of a medium length purple rectangle.

[This isn’t good.] Snow immediately expressed her concern, wary about Reze new attack.

’That’s her ability, right?’ Kyle asked, to which his system helper confirmed his suspicions.

As expected, the world tears provided abilities to all the survivors during it’s occurrence. Though he didn’t know how it worked, Kyle found it strange how a legendary phenomenon worked like that.

And with the information of more gods than just the Light, Lucifer, made his perspective about the world tears more questioned.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the castle, specifically the west location a man with a bulk build was seen emerging from a room.

Earning a strict 90° now from the four guards present at the side of the door. Casually waving his hands with a faint forced smile, the 6ft man with curly moustache made his way down the corridor.

Glancing at an artifact sculpted from Cred, a foreign material with colour texture similar to clay. But entirely different, having a dark brown colour and more rough texture. Despite being sculpted smooth, by if not arguably the best sculptors in the world.

"One can’t really get enough of that short man’s artistic experience." The grumpy man inhaled, enjoying the thrill of art.

Slightly shaking his head he took a step but stopped, feeling the ground rumbling from a supposed explosion.

"That attack, could it be another invasion?" The man frowned with a questioning gaze, directed towards the direction the rumble came from.

At first it seemed like an invasion considering the explosion occured internally from the castle, hinting at a possible enemy attack. But he doubted that, mainly because an experiment was conducted on each and every individual in the kingdom by none other than Reze.

"Could it be~ Great, I’ll finally have the chance to rip out his head." Wheeler grinned with an evil smile. His legs being coated by a silver liquid, condensing into an off-white steel called adamantium. Far durable and sharper than linder.

Taking a sprinting stance, he exploded with an outburst of speed. Destroying the sculpted art into pieces, while he moved faster than a speeding car.

’I don’t know if this will work, but I have to buy time and get his attention.’ Reze contemplated, her purple triangle dispelling a light shade of purple mist.

Opposite her, Kyle was slightly disappointed for two reasons. First, he was excited to learn the cocky scientist finally had obtained an ability. And though strangely snow couldn’t identify it’s class, either as an elemental, spacial, etc. it further spiked his expectations.

Second was because of how confident Reze was activating that skill. Probably due to her egotistical nature, making Kyle slightly grin.

[Be careful Kyle, there’s definitely something wrong about this.] Snow reported through the mental link they shared, which Kyle took note off.

[Shadow walk activated.]

Unfortunately, the world tears effects on him wasn’t fully gone according to snow. Limiting several factors of his system, but luckily, he was left with his shadow skills.

Under Reze eye, Kyle’s body transformed into his own shadow. Calmly approaching here with a taunting smirk, the shadow dagger clutched in his hand.

’So this is the power of the dark energy.’ Her body tingled a bit at Kyle’s aura.

Walking into the mist, he couldn’t avoid or dodge this strange attack. If it were ever one to begin with, as it lacked the intensity and power behind most attacks.

But still, he couldn’t take any chances and risk being caught in Reze trap. ’Like I suspected, this is probably just one of her bluffs.’

Passing through the must like he suspected, there wasn’t a backlash. Which made his theory about Reze bluff a reality.

"You know... I thought you had actually awoken a strong ability, but guess I was wrong."

Closing the gap, he didn’t think much about it but there were some resistance as he got closer. Like the buildup of tides on the ocean shore while swimming, nothing too severe.

"Of course, your prediction is right. My ability is completely useless against normal people, but we both know you’re not normal." She ended with a more deep tone than her usual voice.

Listening to her, Kyle deemed this as another one of her deceptions. But seeing the system screen pop up, changed his entire perspective.

[System has been breached!]

[All skills has been temporarily locked and system will shut down for 1 minute.]

Glancing through the set of notifications, Kyle was left speechless.

At first he’d thought it was fake, probably Reze doing. But unfortunately his connection with the system was forcefully severed, deactivating his skills.

"What did you do to me." Kyle grunted, clearly annoyed by Reze troublesome ability.

Tilting her head to the side a bit, she let out her tongue in the most silliest way. "Why do uptight, huh? You clearly were confident in your skills a minute ago. I wonder what happened~"

Now reverted back to his physical appearance, the shadow dagger also evaporated into the air. But Kyle wasn’t done yet, he still has his terrifying stats that rivaled that of Troy’s.

’Shit. I can’t move.’ More rage surged within him, unable to move his legs.

"Don’t bother about that. Infact, I just want to have a conversation with you about a particular question that’s been bothering me." Reze stated with a warm smile, which Kyle wasn’t buying.

"First you try to seduce me, then you attempt to kill me. And now, you’re flirting with me? Tsk.. What sort of sick fetish are you on?"

Hearing that, tints of red appeared on Reze cheeks which she suppressed. "I know you have a peculiar taste in women, but I never knew you were into older women."

"Older women? Please.. don’t flatter yourself." He scoffed, earning a grunt from Reze.

"As I stated earlier, your energy used in activating your skills is different." She paused observing him from head to toe, almost like running a routine scan.

"Great.. I’m a captive of a sick yandere with absurd fetish, what else could go wrong." He sarcastically muttered which the busty woman ignored.

"Your ability doesn’t appear to be on our database, but I’m betting it’s channeled through dark energy. Right?"

Slowly nodding, he didn’t try to play dumb and simply went along with it. Not caring about trying to hide it since it was already known according to Reze earlier words.

Seeing Kyle nod positively made Reze sigh a bit in relief. ’I didn’t think he’d be willing to cooperate this easily. There’s definitely something he’s hiding and my time’s almost up.’

Locking eye contact with Kyle, Reze blurted out the next set of words in her mind. "You’re also a demon with some powerful alliance, correct?"

Not responding immediately, Kyle didn’t expect to hear that.

Sure he was drawing attention to himself, against his own will since he arrived on planet orobos. And with the current change of events, it would only be a matter of time before he was labeled as a demon.

"Judging from the shift in your expression and the sudden silence, I’d take my theory as a yes." Her words pulled him from his thoughts.

Taking a deep breath, the advanced space armour retracted back into her chest region. Also simultaneously, the strange force hindering Kyle’s movement also vanished like it was never there.

[System is now back online!]

The familiar translucent system screen with an eerie dark background, and red writing on flames appeared in his vision. Giving him somewhat relief feeling the connection with his skills.

"Come, we have a lot to discuss about." Reze gestured.

Snapping her fingers like a command, the switched off electronics present sprung to life. Along with the deactivation of the enclosure security measure.

"You seriously don’t expect me to follow you after what just happened." Kyle retorded, now cautious of the lead scientist with a strange and dangerous ability.

"Sighs~ I just want to talk. If you don’t trust me you’re free to leave, and prepare for the mission tomorrow. But I doubt it’ll help you with your goal of reclaiming your dignity."

With that she exited the room, leaving Kyle with a multitude of questions.

Trying to contact snow he couldn’t feel the mental link they shared, which he pieces was Reze strange ability.

’This just keeps getting more annoying.’ Kyle frowned, having no other option than to follow her.
