Chapter 356: A Scientist Breakthrough

Slightly raising a brow, Kyle didn’t expect to hear those words from Troy. Considering the factors and overall complicated relationship they had, it was safe to say they had deep resent for each other.

"Are you sure your highness? Adding him to the equation under these circumstances might prove uncertainty. Especially on this crucial mission, ensuring the future of the kingdom." Reze butted in, pretending to be against the king’s idea. Earning an awkward side glance from Kyle.

With a warm smile on his face, which irritated Kyle more. Troy lightly chuckled, like a merry man. The shift in his expression more deadly, than his previous cold nature Kyle was attuned to.

"I’ve considered all the possibilities and come to conclusion his presence on kraken might prove more good than harm. Mainly because of his distinct ability to control such energy." Tilting his head to Kyle, his smile broadened.

’I didn’t think he’d loose his mind after the attack on his kingdom.’ The latter thought, certainly uncomfortable with the cold king killer smile.

Meanwhile, the only woman and lead scientist of an entire Kingdom in the room has a conflicted expression. Hearing the king’s decree it was law, and there was nothing she could do about it.

’Hehe~ Things are going to plan all thanks to my genius mind. With the addition of Kyle the operation is no doubt to be a success.’ She inwardly grinned, like a hyena staring down it’s prey.

"Reze." Troy softly called out, snapping her gaze from her thoughts.

"I can see you’re still not fully committed with my decision, which is understandable. So I’ve come to the conclusion of adding myself to the expenditure team." Troy declared with his unusual jovial tune, slightly puffing his chest.

Listening to him, if Reze was trying on her best acting performance before, she couldn’t constrain herself now. Her jaws subconsciously dropping slightly, shocked by the king’s revelation.

And it wasn’t only her who had a look of surprise, as even the young man with black hair didn’t expect those words.

"B-but your Majesty.. It isn’t recommended to leave the kingdom with your current state. Not to mention we still haven’t located the headquarters of those beasts from earlier, and the possibility of another potential strike might be underway." Reze pointed out all the reasons she deemed fit to make Troy stay, all to which were shrugged by the king.

"My decision is final Reze." Troy calmly uttered, turning his back to the pair and walking away.

The room was currently still on lockdown mode, with reinforced steel walls coated with the strange liquid. But that didn’t hinder the ruthless king, still walking without a care in the world.

Causing the air inside the room to change, gathering into one place, troy’s location. Forming the familiar air slash of condensed air, unless this was slightly different.

’Are these lightning?’ Kyle wondered with clear amazement written on his face.

The amount of abilities one developed, was based solely on the user’s instinctive strength. Which was determined by such person mana pool, and compatibility affinity with such ability.

At first, the thought of someone possessing more than one ability was troublesome. But snow has calmed his nerves there were several factors associated with effectively using such abilities.

One, was the effective mastery of such. Gaining control of one’s innate talent was already hard, but with the addition of another was more challenging.

Second being the deciding factor, which was the mana pool. As much strength as a person possessed, having a small mana pool meant severe limits.

This and many other reasons. But since Kyle arrived here, Troy had already surpassed most of the limitations surrounding a dual ability user. Unlike Lynn who possessed not two, but three abilities in one. But lacked control and a wide mana pool, with little experience.

Troy was a veteran to say the least, effectively switching from his air ability to what Kyle believed was his second ability related to thunder.

With the explosion of a bomb, capable of causing small craters and a force rivaling that of a magnitude 3 earthquake. But now, this sick psychotic individual was exhibiting signs of another ability?

Condensing the air slash, mixed with some little properties of gold lightning. Kyle and Reze were no doubt affected greatly, feeling the air in their lungs forcefully pulled out to generate that attack.

’His control over his dual abilities previously was terrifying, but now he’s gotten even more powerful.’ Reze noted the great increase in troy’s power, just from a glance.

’At this rate it won’t be long until he breaks through into the next stage.’ Her mind reeled over that thought, causing her to slightly gulp a bit.

A small explosion attracted her attention back to Troy, who was no longer present in the room. Only a large hole made in the wall, capable of allowing passage of 5 humans side by side remained.

"Bastard." Kyle cursed without a care, annoyed by troy’s showboating.

With the king gone, silence no doubt enveloped the room. Making the situation more awkward and tense, for the remaining 2 individuals present.

"That was unexpected." Reze was the first to speak, with a nervous chuckle. Which was ignored by Kyle, heading towards the hole in the wall. Having no plans of engaging in a conversation with her.

"Where are you going!?" The beautiful milf behind him fumed, slightly puffing her cheeks.

Receiving no answer made her scowl more, which was a considerable blow to her pride as a scientist and seductive woman.

"Hey! I’m talking to you!" Reze yelled, several black liquid coating her body within a short amount of time.

Hardened solid like a rock, forming the advanced black suit she’d used in facing Kyle earlier. Taking a step, she could feel her movements were greatly heightened. Boosting her agility to that of a new awakener, with a year of training. Moving fast she cut off Kyle’s path, standing in his front.

Ignoring her, the latter simply continued in his steps. The black dagger constructed from shadows, shooting out with great speed.

’Cocky. Hehe~ just my type.’ Reze thought, the side of her lips pursed up into a sly grin.

Stretching her left hand forward, a soft blue glow was seen in the little circle made from the beam blasters.

[Something doesn’t seem right about this. Her composure is way too calm even after witnessing the shadow effect to phase through objects.] Snow spoke with a more cautious tone, which surprised Kyle a bit.

’Don’t tell me the all powerful cultured master is getting intimidated by another woman. Sighs.. guess I’ll have to add her to the harem.’ Kyle exhaled with defeat, receiving some playful banter from snow.

Attacks were considered internal and external forces, mainly because they were channeled from within a host and distributed as an external force. Now while various attacks produced from skills created from such individual abilities varied, there were some countermeasures that could be taken.

Some attacks even repelled or destroyed completely by other attacks, more powerful than the other.

But Kyle was confident in his shadow dagger, exerting a lot of his energy to keep it active.

The static hum from the suit could be heard charging within 3 seconds. Just before Kyle’s shadow dagger hit, a blue beam of pure mana energy was projected.

"Not bad." Kyle muttered, already moved to the side.

Just like he predicted, his shadow dagger wasn’t destroyed but stalled. Though he could feel his energy depleting rapidly, which was weird considering how little it was before.

"Haha. Of course, you and the king have quite similar traits so I suspected this might occur."

Stretching her right hand, a faint blue glow could be seen. But not the familiar glow of a beam blaster, but something different.
