Chapter 1941: Weird Human Emperor (3)
Chapter 1941: Weird Human Emperor (3)
“With this dao, you can sweep through the current Myriad Realms since there are no Masters of Laws around. With this dao, you can follow my path and create a new world. With this dao, you can become the true Human Emperor. Why…did you reject my dao?”
The silhouette started doubting life itself. Was the current world filled with weird people? The dao only asked that the successor do their part. And only someone with such intention could trigger the conditions of inheritance.
Why…did the successor reject the dao?
“Weird fucks will appear every year. But this year, there seem to be a lot more of them around.”
He sighed. A true oddball had emerged. The conditions of inheritance were actually quite strict. They weren’t so easily fulfilled.
Su Yu had triggered them because he was indeed a fitting person.
For example, he had the Heaven Gate.
For example, he had received the support of two or more of the Four Cardinal Kings or their descendents or their legacies.
For example, a dense enough fortune of humanity.
For example, a strong enough sense of responsibility.
There were also numerous other conditions. Su Yu had believed that there was no test, but the test was incorporeal, thus, he hadn’t detected anything. The test wasn’t something straightforward, and it also wasn’t something short.
Rather, it calculated the accumulation of a person’s life until the eventual tipping point before the conditions were triggered. But the inheritance had been rejected. The silhouette was losing his mind. Why? The current humanity seemed rather troublesome.
He recalled that some time ago, a massive change had occured, resulting in massive losses for humanity. Over ninety percent of humanity’s fortune had faded away. At the time, the threat of extinction was very real. After such a setback, shouldn’t humanity be desperate for power?
Fuck!
Why was his dao rejected?
He couldn’t understand it.
He had the intense urge to rush back and take a good look at the fucker who had rejected his dao.
What manner of a weird fuck was that?
***
“Weird fuck!”
Su Yu, who was falling down the waterfall, was cursing as well.
The Human Emperor was such a weird fuck!
Why was something so powerful being given away without as much as a test? He had merely thought a bit about his responsibilities and all of a sudden, he became the designated inheritor. Was the Human Emperor crazy?
“I have greatly misunderstood Human Emperor. How could I believe that he was a wise leader? That is total nonsense! Just because of a passing thought about responsibility, you want me to take full responsibility?
“Are you kidding me?
“Am I supposed to keep taking responsibility even after defeating the myriad races? Am I supposed to slave away for humanity my entire life?
“Bullshit.”
Su Yu kept cursing. Despite all his cursing, he was also slightly relieved. This was an alternative path he could take at any time. At the moment, he was unwilling to accept it. But what if he grew desperate enough in the future?
“I suppose I can pick up this garbage dao when I’m really desperate enough.”
Su Yu did not fall to the bottom of the waterfall. Rather, he was caught by the net in the middle. He was not surprised. He couldn’t help but admit that this dao might be incomplete, yet it was very powerful. He had a feeling that upon completion, this was a dao that could rival the death spirit dao. Or perhaps it would even be stronger.
“If he had succeeded, he would be the second strongest person to have ever existed.”
The strongest would naturally be the master of the River of Time. Since Human Emperor had failed to complete the dao, he could probably be the third strongest, right? As for the second strongest, it would naturally be the master of the death spirit dao.
“This dao is far more powerful than the physical body dao. Even if it’s incomplete, I can probably reach the level of a Master of Law upon grasping this incomplete part, right?
“But why is it still masterless since it’s so easy to inherit?”
Su Yu was confused. Why?
Was this dao so hard to inherit?
Nope.
This was his first day here. And he didn’t even want it. But the dao had actually forced him to accept it. Could it be that he was the first human to make it here in so many years?
“Sure enough, it’s lonely at the top.”
Su Yu sighed. The life of a genius was a lonely one. He was the only option the various daos could pick. King dao? Emperor dao? Time dao? The various daos were trying to get him to inherit them when he didn’t even want them. Sigh.
Then again, all these thoughts were merely Su Yu’s way of joking with himself. Deep inside, he knew that things weren’t as simple as it looked. However, he wouldn’t let go of any chance to praise himself. Yes, yes. The dao must have picked him because of his boundless genius. What could he do if he was too much of a genius?
“By rejecting your dao, I still have a gleam of hope. But after accepting your dao, my own path will be over.”
Su Yu sighed. He simply didn’t want to give up on his own path unless absolutely necessary. To cultivate and comprehend the dao only to end up with a prearranged path, turning himself into a copy of the Human Emperor. What was the point? Human Emperor himself had failed. Would a copy succeed in his stead?
Su Yu chuckled and tossed the matter out of his head. Responsibility was Human Emperor’s path. Not his.
“Weird freak. Serves you right for not having a successor.”
What a bad choice. Did the Human Emperor not know that he hated shackles the most?
“Well, I suppose I can keep it around as the backup plan.”
Su Yu had designated Human Emperor’s dao as his spare dao. It was something he would pick when he had no choice. It hadn’t even crossed his mind that he had just rejected a dao that could make him a Master of Law in a short time.
Anyone else would feel regret after giving up on such a dao. But that was not the case for Su Yu. What about being a Master of Law? It was a mere incomplete dao. Ultimately, Su Yu had rejected the dao because it was incomplete. If it had been the death spirit dao or the time dao–cough. He would be willing to consider it.
Yes. He simply looked down on Human Emperor’s dao. How could he take an incomplete dao seriously? It didn’t even need to be complete. If it had been nearer to completion, he might have considered it.
With a smile, Su Yu started studying the net around him. Above, the water continued falling down while the net acted as a filter.
Su Yu sat down cross-legged and started sensing everything around him. He allowed the water to wash over him, relying on the stone and his token to resist the powers in the water. Eventually, he started noticing something from the water. He saw a large amount of fire-attributed laws gathering before turning into a tiny stream of water.
Like a dragon, the tiny stream started swimming around the net. It was seemingly trying to break free of the net, but it wasn’t powerful enough. And that tiny dragon wasn’t alone. There were numerous tiny dragons attempting to break free at the same time.
At the same time, they were also crashing into each other. The filtered pure power could easily leave the net, but these attributed streams were kept in the net.
After some time, Su Yu’s expression turned odd. He saw a tiny golden dragon with an aura of sharpness attempting to cut through the net. As a result, the net tightened around it.
Boom!
With a rumble, the golden dragon burst apart.
But due to that, a tiny crack appeared on the net.
A small part of the golden dragon remained even after the explosion. It took the chance to shoot out of the crack. And next, Su Yu heard a voice, “A dao! A damaged weapon dao!”
Even more voices rang out. Numerous people were screaming. Moments later, the crack in the net repaired itself. None of the remaining tiny dragons in the net was as powerful than the previous golden dragon.
The odd look in Su Yu’s eyes intensified.
“Is this the origin of the…so-called masterless daos? Damaged daos?”
Why were these daos damaged? Because they had been damaged by the net. If they could escape undamaged, they would be complete great daos.
“I see…”
Su Yu was quite shocked upon discovering the truth. But next, his eyes widened. Holy shit! In short, the countless tiny dragons around him were actually countless embryonic daos.
Su Yu frowned and muttered, “Embryonic daos…is the net gathering the attributed powers to create proper daos or something? Just what is this net?”
“Can I take these embryonic daos with me and grant them to others? No, things can’t be so simple. These are all incomplete daos.”
Su Yu shook his head.
Well, it was understandable. Even the Human Emperor’s dao itself was incomplete. How could the daos filtered by it be complete?
“These daos are far weaker than the daos in the Myriad Realms. But they are also far easier to grasp…”
Su Yu’s eyes flickered as he continued muttering to himself, “These incomplete daos will serve well as the nutrient for existing daos. But if someone is stupid enough to abandon their original dao to embrace one of these daos…well, that would be a really bad idea.”
Were there such idiots out there?
Probably.
After all, these daos seemed complete from the outside. And these were all masterless daos. They were simply too tempting to reject.
“Did the Human Emperor plan to filter these daos before planting them into his own dao as the tributaries, granting them to the experts cultivating his dao?”
There were tributaries on Human Emperor’s dao. Su Yu had been quite curious about that. Why would anyone pioneer new daos on such an incomplete dao? The river itself wouldn’t even have enough energy to support the opening of those tributaries.
But Su Yu now understood. In short, this net was a creator of fake daos. Anyone cultivating these fake daos would end up opening a tributary on Human Emperor’s dao.
“So…all these fellows are fake dao experts?”
Su Yu laughed, “Holy shit!”
His expression changed.
Why did this idea feel so familiar? Wasn’t this similar to his idea? Getting a chicken to lay the eggs for him. The difference was that Su Yu was doing it through his book. Meanwhile, Human Emperor was doing it through the Dao Origin Land.
In short, the entire Dao Origin Land was a land of fake daos. A land of scam. These people would fight over these fake daos, inevitably ending up cultivating the Human Emperor’s dao for him.
“Hu!”
Su Yu exhaled deeply. Was that really the case?
Or was this merely a coincidence?
If this was deliberate, he could only conclude that the Human Emperor was a scumbag just like him. Having others cultivate their fake daos. Just what manner of disaster would this bring to the experts of the myriad races?
