Rion's brows rose in curiosity, and he instantly checked the information on his new reward.

Mystical Eyes That Foresee Disaster and Fortune
Description: Before humans, elves, and even the dragons, the world was inhabited by only two races: The giants and the angels.
The giants were physically gifted, but before the warmongering angels, they were no different than bigger beasts to slaughter; thus, the Great One burned his vision and gifted the ancient giants with the eyes that could see both disaster and fortune.
[Assimilate?]
[Yes / No]

'Angels?' Rion frowned in confusion.
This was his first time hearing about the angel race and seeing how the system had decided to label them warmongers; the picture he had of them in his mind was far from reality.
<Why are you suddenly thinking about those damned angels?> Noir asked, his tone slightly irritated.
Rion lifted his brow in surprise and thought, 'You cannot see the system?'
Noir didn't answer. It wasn't like he didn't want to; he just hadn't heard the question.
'So he is unable to know about the system...' Rion frowned as this revelation consumed him.
Noir was one of the seven devils, the children of the second Mother, and was given the grand moniker of Devil of Freedom, yet he was still shackled by the world. He was still unable to learn about the system even though he had learned about Rion's reincarnation immediately after binding with his spear.
Which meant the existence of the system was above the law, which had caused his reincarnation, or probably every law that existed in the vast creation.
The realization settled heavily in his chest.
In the stories from his previous world, the creator of the system most of the time created it to find a perfect vessel or servant for themselves, and if the same was true for his, then he could only hope to somehow escape that being's clutches before reaching that point.
For a long, long while, he stood in the barren land with a face as dark as the night sky, then he shook his head and took a deep breath to calm his worries.
'I still have a lot to do,' he remarked inwardly and muttered, "Yes."
Suddenly, cracks appeared in the space around him, and from those cracks drifted out subtly golden, white, and red strings.
Seeing them, Noir stated in a surprised tone, <Strings of fate...>
'Does the difference in colors mean anything?' Rion asked as the strings slowly moved toward him.
<Yes. Golden strings are related to the divine, red represents misfortune, and white calls forth blessings,> Noir explained, his voice full of wonder.
The strings of fate were something that even the Gods couldn't touch or see recklessly, but now a mere human was looking at them; however, what happened next caused his surprise to increase tenfold or even a hundredfold.
The strings snapped and drifted into Rion's oceanic blue eyes in an instant. Rion's brows jumped in shock, and his body lost its strength, immediately dropping to his knees.
The three strings spun around his pupils like rings, and a searing headache tore through Rion's temple.
Golden blood dripped out from the corners of his eyes and trembled lips which wanted to scream but couldn't.
He clawed the ground beneath with his fingers like an injured wolf, but that didn't stop the grueling agony.
More cracks appeared across the barren world like shattered glass, and more strings shot out of them and entered his eyes.
Noir watched all of it happen with a dumbfounded yet strangely calm mind. He knew what these strings were trying to do.
The river of fate was vast; within it existed everything that has happened or will happen, including the results, the possibilities, and much more, which fueled the existence.
So for Rion to look into it, he had to become more than just a mere string that existed within it. He needed to be connected to all of the strings there were, but the process was so agonising that he may not even be able to survive it.
<It is just the beginning,> Noir sighed.
He was already sure that a mortal's mind was nowhere near holding such a grand connection of the river of fate.
But what happened next caused his breath to hitch.
Suddenly, the demon heart within Rion's body let out all of the corrupted demonic energy.
At the same time, the black swirls within the Abysmal Flame also exploded as tiny stars and a thick black smoke drifted out of Rion's body.
The corrupted demonic energy and the black smoke swirled around his body like a caterpillar's cocoon, but extremely dark, as though deep reaches of the abyss.
Rion's spear suddenly transformed into a crow.
Noir watched the cocoon harden with a deeply confused expression.
The process that Rion was going through was devilisation. It was the power that had allowed the Second Mother to birth him and his other six siblings, but before his very eyes, a mortal was turning into a devil.
<No it's impossible. He already has the Absolute Spark within him; it is the absolute symbol of divinity, so how can he hold both demonic and divine at the same time?>
When he had first found out that Rion had both energies, it didn't strike him as weird after all. Although extremely rare, it was possible for a mortal vessel to hold both, but by becoming a devil, he would no longer be a mortal.
He would become part of the demon realm and thus a citizen of the abyss, which meant he would be able to see it.
Noir raised his head to the sky, and a shiver ran down his spine.
A humongous, ominous red eye was looking down at him. It had an ancient aura around which even he couldn't sense the depth of. He didn't need to; he already knew who He was.
He was one of the three creators who had birthed their universe.
The Father of Abyssborns, The Eye Which Sees Beyond Everything, Master of the Abyss, and the Ruler of Absolute Nihility.
For the first time in ages, Noir looked directly into the eye and asked, "Is it him?"
"Is he the eighth Devil of Harmony?"
