VIVIAN

"Please come with us for questioning. We have some questions about Saintess Ina Federick’s disappearance."

Vivian stared at the officers. Her fingers fidgeted by the side.

Vincent stepped forward. His face was emotionless. "What is the reason for you to ask her questions? Why the sudden arrest?"

The officer didn’t answer immediately. They Ignored Vincent completely.

"Please quietly come with us. We only need to ask you a few questions."

Vivian’s fingers tightened at her sides. She forced a smile onto her face.

"Of course..."

But inside, her heart was beating rapidly.

Stay calm.

They don’t know anything. They can’t know. There is no evidence not like it’s the first you killed. There is no evidence to prove it so they CANNOT carry you.

Herbert said. "Vivian is from the Valen family. Do you know the Valen family.? We are no pushovers, you can’t just take one of us."

Before Vivian could move, Vincent stopped Herbert’s push-ups.

"Enough of this nonsense."

Herbert collapsed onto the floor, breathing heavily.

Vincent walked toward the officers. "What right do you have to take my student?"

His voice was cold. Deep down he was burning in rage for being ignored by the Federick Royal soldiers.

"Can’t you see I’m in the middle of a class? Where is your arrest permission?"

Vivian quickly smiled. "Sirs, we’re currently in class. And we have a mission tonight. I really can’t leave the class. If you want tomorrow I will come over for the questions."

One of the officers stepped forward.

Her expression was stiff. "If you don’t cooperate, we will use force."

Her eyes narrowed. "Do you think we came here to play house soldier with you? We are on a serious mission. Do you know how serious Ina’s death is to Inaria Frederick? Do you know she is currently sick?"

Vivian snorted. "What is my business? Who is Inaria?"

The Female Royal officer pointed toward the door. "Come quietly, or you may suffer a few injuries."

The entire classroom went silent. Vincent’s expression didn’t change.

He simply raised one hand. "Hit the wall."

The officer’s body suddenly moved. She tried to control it but couldn’t move her body. Her body moved very fast this time.

BANG! She slammed face-first into the wall. Blood immediately trickled down her forehead.

The students gasped. Some were scared of the sudden behaviour of the Officer. Only few knew it was Vincent doing.

Vivian’s eyes widened.

What the hell...?

Vincent’s expression remained calm. "Again."

The officer’s body moved against her will.

Vivian stiffened. She had never seen Vincent use his ability before.

And she definitely hadn’t expected it to be this terrifying. This ability to control how others think is very scary. People with such abilities should be avoided.

Before the officer could hit the wall again, the other two officers immediately stepped forward.

"Commander Vincent!"

They bowed.

Vincent said. "A lowly ranked commander like me doesn’t want your high ranked greeting. Don’t you guys think I am ant asking questions..?"

"We apologize."

One of them quickly explained. "This officer was sent by the Federick Family. She has some... communication issues."

The officer lying against the wall glared at them.

The other officer continued.

"We humbly request your permission to ask Vivian a few questions."

Vincent looked at them for several seconds.

Then he nodded. His spiritual domain disappeared.

The injured officer’s body immediately relaxed.

She slid down the wall, weak and dizzy.

Vivian glanced at her.

So that’s what happens when someone is strong enough.

She smiled faintly.

Once you’re strong enough, nobody looks down on you.

They respect the power you possess.

Serial stood up and held Vivian’s hands. "He said it was my fault Vivian had an issue with Ina. You can take me along."

Vincent turned toward the officers.

"What questions can you not ask her here?"

His voice was sharp.

"Why are you separating her from her classmates?"

He stepped closer. "Are you trying to intimidate her?"

"Instructor...."

"Or are you trying to pressure her into confessing to crimes she didn’t commit?"

The officers remained silent.nVincent tapped his communicator. A holographic screen appeared.

A military report appeared in the air. "Ina Federick had an S-Class soldier serving as her personal guard."

Vincent pointed at the report. "So don’t stand here and tell me that an unawakened F-ranked female soldier killed them."

The hologram changed. Vivian’s information appeared.

Name: Vivian Valen

Awakening: None

Spiritual Ability: None

Rank: F-Class

Vincent pointed at it. "Look at the file."

"Vivian is not awakened. She has no registered special ability."

One of the officers frowned. "But several students reported something different."

She looked toward Vivian. "They said Vivian punched the Strength Testing Stone during the recruitment assessment."

The classroom became quiet. The officer looked back at Vincent. "So what do you mean when you call her a powerless F-Class female?"

Vincent didn’t even blink. He changed the hologram. "Her official report."

Another set of figures appeared. "Her spiritual energy is zero."

He changed the screen again. "Her agility is also recorded as zero."

Vivian rolled her eyes.

At this point, Vincent might as well print a newspaper and distribute it across the entire planet.

’Attention, everyone! Vivian Valen is a powerless F-Class soldier!’

She rubbed her forehead. The officer looked at Vivian.

"Take her away." Two officers moved toward the injured woman and helped her stand.

They began carrying her out.

The classroom immediately erupted into whispers.

"She has no power?"

"She can’t even fight a beast properly!"

"Then why are they arresting her?"

"She only has a little physical strength."

"Why would the Military come into our classroom for someone like that?"

"They are bullying us because we are just an individual team not like the Mecha or Combat team."

One officer turned toward the class. "We are not detaining her."

He raised both hands calmly. "We only want to ask her a few questions."

He looked at Vincent. "This is an official investigation. No one is bullying your student."

He glanced at Vivian. "We only need her cooperation."

Vincent glared at him. Seems he isn’t given up until Vivian goes with them

Then he looked at Vivian. "I’ll go with you."

Vivian blinked. "Instructor Vincent?"

"It’s okay Vivian. I am here.Vincent walked toward the door. "You’re not going anywhere alone." He turned to Serial. He looked so worried. Vincent Ordered. "Stay back, we will be done soon."

Vivian heaved a sigh of relief.

I never liked Vincent but he defended me in most situations. Seems Darius Valen knew they would take me for some questions. That was why he called and wanted me to keep her head straight and not say anything.

Vivian smiled. "Okay. I am going with you guys.."

A few minutes later, Vivian was taken into a small interrogation room.

Vincent remained outside the room.

Two officers sat across from her. A recorder was activated.

The first officer opened the file.

"Vivian Valen."

Vivian sat calmly.

"Yes?"

"You recently had an altercation with Ina Federick."

Vivian nodded. "Yes."

"After that confrontation, did you see her again?"

"No."

"Not even once?"

"No."

The officer studied her face. "You’re certain?"

Vivian nodded. "After we fought, we never met again."

The officer tapped the table. "Then explain this."

A holographic image appeared. It showed the transport ship. "The ship was attacked by Zerg shortly after leaving the area."

Vivian’s eyes narrowed. "Are you sure Ina didn’t die during that incident?"

The officer tilted his head. "Are you saying she died?"

Vivian kept silent.."Are you trying to force words from my mouth?"

The officer looked at her and smirked. "The ship has no video footage showing Ina after or during the attack. All the room footage has no trace of her."

Vivian remained silent.

The officer continued. "So she either died before the attack..."

He paused,"...or she died when the attack began."

Vivian suddenly smiled. "Is she really dead?"

The officer frowned. "Aren’t you sad that your friend died?"

Vivian’s smile disappeared. "A friend?" She leaned back. "She isn’t my friend."

Her voice was calm. "We’re enemies. You see, she picked on me because of my second spouse."

The officer stared at her. Vivian shrugged. "Who wishes their enemy well? " She tilted her head. "Or Officer, Do you wish your enemy to live longer than you?"

The officer’s expression hardened. "So you hated her?"

"Yes."

"Did you kill her?"

Vivian sighed. There it was. The question she’d been expecting. "I didn’t kill her."

The officer leaned forward. "Are you sure?"

Vivian looked directly into his eyes. "Even if I wanted to? Can I fight an S class Male. With only Brute force? We know it’s not possible. And right now I am an orphan. I have no one to run to if it commits such crimes to my fellow Gender. I Vivian has my principles."

She said inwardly. "It was the Lotus that killed her, not me."

The officer stared at her for several seconds.

Then he closed the file. "Where do you live?"

Vivian’s eyebrows lifted. "Why?"

"We need to search your residence."

Vivian’s smile slowly disappeared. "You want to search my home?"
