EMELIANNA

Emelianna sat in a private restaurant tucked away on one of Haxia’s upper platforms. She was invited to have brunch with her suitor.

The place was beautiful.

Crystal walls overlooked the floating city, while soft music played in the background. It was one of the few restaurants where powerful families could dine without being disturbed.

Emelianna sat alone at a private table, calmly speaking to the small monitor hovering above it.

Her fingers occasionally touched the red diamond ring on her hand.

Then the door opened.

A man in a perfectly pressed blue military uniform walked inside.

He was tall and well-built, with the confidence of someone who knew exactly how powerful he was.

Colonel Damson.

He adjusted his uniform proudly before walking toward her.

The moment he reached the table, he pulled out the chair.

But instead of sitting...

He knelt.

Emelianna slowly looked at him.

Damson reached for her hands.

"My Queen..."

Emelianna immediately pulled her hands away. Damson’s eyes were all on her. He looked up at her with a sweet smile. "When will you finally accept me?"

He placed a hand over his heart. "I have always been a good male. I have always treated you with respect and everyone in Haxia knows my love for you.. Please accept me."

Emelianna sighed. "My father doesn’t want me to have a relationship with anyone from the Snake Clan."

Damson’s smile didn’t disappear. "Emelianna, I’m a Blue-Rank SS-Class Royal Soldier."

He proudly tapped his chest. "My salary is higher than Isaac’s."

Emelianna raised an eyebrow. "Is that supposed to impress me?"

Damson laughed. "I know you don’t care about money."

He leaned closer. "You know I can provide anything you need. I earn..."

"It’s not that I don’t like you."

Emelianna interrupted him. She calmly picked up her cup. "But your Snake Clan is an extended family. Everyone shares the resources and earnings of the strongest members."

Damson nodded slowly.

Emelianna continued. "If we married, wouldn’t your entire clan depend on us?"

She looked at him. "What happens when they have less because you are spending more on me?"

Damson scratched his head. "Um..."

He thought for a moment. "I know you aren’t interested in my petty salary."

He smiled proudly. "You only want me."

Emelianna almost rolled her eyes.

Damson quickly continued. "I can give thirty percent to you and seventy percent to the Snake clan."

He held her hand again and kissed the back of it. "No one will become jealous."

He gazed at her lovingly. "I really love you, my Princess."

Emelianna was deeply disgusted and almost threw up.

She really hated snakes and fishes because they are cold. As a Fire phoenix she doesn’t want any cold blooded animals around her. But what could she do? The current soldiers guarding the Astronova mansion since Isacc soldiers left are actually Damson’s soldiers. She CAN’T send him away or give him a cold shoulder since the Zerg infiltrated their home recently. She has only him as her Military support.

A royal needs the military backing and none of her Phoenix male members were able to hold a high rank in the Military. Some died in the Zerg war, others never got promoted.

A knock was heard and the restaurant door opened again.

Another Male walked inside wearing a blue military uniform.

He placed one hand against his chest and bowed politely.

His smile was gentle. "Princess Emelianna."

He straightened. "I heard you were here, so I decided to come and greet you."

Emelianna smiled. "Commander Federick."

She gestured toward the empty chair. "I’m only here for dessert."

Commander Federick smiled. "Then don’t worry. I’ll pay for your meal."

Damson’s expression immediately darkened. His hand slowly clenched into a fist. "You don’t have to worry about that, Commander Federick."

He stood. "I can afford to treat her to brunch."

Commander Federick smiled politely. "Colonel Damson, I was simply being courteous."

"You should go home." Damson’s smile became colder. "What if your Female Master finds out you’re spending money on another female again?"

Federick’s face changed. His smile disappeared. "Colonel."

His voice remained calm. "We are all Haxia soldiers."

He placed his hand over his chest. "Protecting others and their needs is part of our duty. Caring for those around us is not something we should be ashamed of."

His eyes hardened slightly. "It is one of the principles our ancestors left behind."

Damson scoffed. "Enough with your sermon."

He pointed toward the door. "Leave. You aren’t welcome here."

Emelianna simply watched them argue.

Then she smiled. Her fingers touched the red diamond ring on her finger.

At fifty years old, I’m still surrounded by males fighting for my attention.

Her smile faded slightly.

If only Ali were still alive.

She looked down.

If only he hadn’t left me and Elena so early.

No matter how many powerful men stood before her, none of them could compare to him. Ali had been kind. Humble. Patient and strong. Everything she admired.

No man in Haxia could ever compare to him. They are all frogs where Ali stood. If only my father had allowed me to sign a couple partnership with Ali.

Emelianna looked up. The argument had escalated.

Blue spiritual energy was already gathering around both men.

Their eyes met. Neither was willing to back down.

Emelianna sighed.

Then..she commanded in a loud voice.

"STOP!"

BOOM! A powerful gust of air exploded from her body.

The two commanders were blasted apart. Both men crashed onto opposite sides of the restaurant.

Emelianna calmly adjusted her dress. "Commander Federick, you can leave."

She smiled sweetly. "And thank you for the brunch."

Federick immediately got back to his feet. His expression changed into a warm smile. "It was my pleasure, Princess."

He bowed. Then turned and walked away.

Damson sat up. He pointed toward the door. "Go home and stay with your Rabbit wife!"

Federick’s steps stopped for a moment.

His face darkened. But he eventually continued walking.

Damson laughed. He returned to his chair and casually picked up his wine. "Do you know how much that dog hates Inaria Federick?"

Emelianna looked at him. Damson took a sip. "He hates the Rabbit Clan so much as a Dog.."

He chuckled. "But he had no choice."

"Why?"

"Because the Rabbit Clan sponsored his education." Damson shook his head. "They paid for his schooling and helped him become a soldier only because he was an S class male."

He smiled. "And now he has to spend the rest of his life pretending to love their daughter and her.."

Emelianna listened quietly. "His daughter?"

"Ina." Damson leaned back. "She is close to Elena."

Emelianna’s eyes narrowed slightly. Then she calmly placed her cup down. "Damson."

"Yes, my Queen?"

"Which planet was Isaac Lilian sent to?"

Damson’s smile disappeared. Emelianna’s voice became colder. "I know you were the one my father contacted."

She stared directly into his eyes.

"You helped my father destroy Isaac’s military career."

Damson’s fingers tightened around his glass.
