Transmigrated As The Final Villain of a Death Game

Chapter 323: Parasite [ 2 ]

Chapter 323: Parasite [ 2 ]

All of the energy that she had suddenly absorbed traveled straight for her heart. The energy, though, was far from normal, as it was actually just a cleaner form of energy, one that I haven’t felt before.

But it was very interesting to see, especially since I had a rough idea of what it could be.

Aura.

The Physical Energy, of sorts. The energy that was best suited for those who fought with just their bodies, and since Titans as well as Giants were such beings, it’s no wonder they were labeled as very powerful.

Though, where was all this power going to go? Her Mind Realm? Would it take place in her heart?

No. Instead, that energy traveled into her heart, and as if being rejected by it, shifted its course straight to her abdomen. A small circle began to form in that location, resembling a marble which sucked in all of the Aura and solidified.

The process seemed unbearably slow, and at the rate that the aura was traveling to that core, I felt like it would take at least four hours to finish. That also meant four hours of suffering for Clementine, who was too preoccupied to even look at me, as she didn’t want to lose focus.

Therefore, I decided to just leave her be. Instead, I glanced over to Jenna. She had summoned her wings already, and for some reason, I felt a strange connection to those wings.

"What’s wrong?" I asked, the question directed more toward the wings rather than Jenna.

But she didn’t know that.

"I’m bored. You guys keep dragging me around everywhere. I just want to go out and have fun. Can’t I? Please? I look like a human now, so there shouldn’t be any problems."

She kicked her feet back and forth like a child, causing me to just roll my eyes.

"Once you figure out how to get those wings of yours in check, then you can go out whenever you want. Until then, spend your time practicing."

"Hmph."

She turned her head, then added:

"My wings said that you’re suspicious, and that you’re using me."

"Would someone who’s using you give you this much freedom?" I rolled my eyes. "And before you say anything, no, I’m not keeping you as a prisoner. Let Clementine and I finish our little power-up, and then we can go out and have some fun. Deal?"

She glanced back at me, and with a slight pout, nodded.

"Fine... I guess that’ll suffice. But my wings are still saying I shouldn’t trust you. You killed a lot of people, and even more demons."

A faint smile appeared on my face. "If it makes you feel any better, I’ve killed more humans than demons. But even then, I doubt it should matter much. It’s not like I have a grudge against you and want to kill you. All I want is for you to be able to control your emotions and powers. Okay?"

I felt like some kind of parent. It wasn’t a bad feeling, per se, but I couldn’t get used to this feeling, especially not in this kind of situation and this kind of environment. I guess I now understand what Clementine meant when she talked about bringing kids into this world.

I half expected that with mine and her powers combined, we’d be able to keep our kids safe, but the reality of the situation was that we’d just make our kids prisoners. On that note, Clementine’s siblings were going to be born sometime in spring. I needed to fix this world by then.

"Hey, can we play a game?" Jenna said out of nowhere.

I raised a brow. "What kind of game?"

"Truth or dare."

"..."

Did this world have that kind of game?

It seems a little modern.

"Sure."

I agreed, figuring that this was just some kind of coincidence. However, it seemed like I was wrong, as the tone of her voice changed completely when she said:

"Then, ask me first."

"..."

Her eyes were much more cloudy now, and her posture was different too. In the blink of an eye, Jenna had lost control, and the wings naturally took over. At least, that’s what I think.

"Truth or dare?" I asked, adjusting my posture on the bed and glancing into her eyes.

I tried to see much more than met the eye, but sadly, it was hard for me to get a good look at whatever this being truly was.

Still...

"Truth," Jenna said.

I pondered over the question for a moment, then spoke it:

"What kind of being are you, exactly? Are you some kind of Divine Beast remnant?"

Jenna smiled. "Those are two questions."

"Answer the first question then."

She paused, then chuckled.

"I am what one might call a parasite. At least, that’s how the others of my race are called."

Others?

"Your turn. Truth or dare." She ended her answer quickly and immediately went for me.

Obviously, since we were going this route, I chose the only thing that made sense.

"Truth."

"Did you see the portal where all the gods and Divine Beasts had come through when you were in the Titan Realm?"

Fountain of Eden?

The question was a little strange too, almost as strange as the fact that this parasite knew I had gone there in the first place.

How could it?

Ah...

Was it possible...?

I’ll ask that next.

"I have seen it. Now, truth or dare?"

"Truth," Jenna said.

The question I had in mind was simple. A parasite, in this context especially, reminded me of something I had read about back when I was still browsing through the wiki of All Routes Lead To Death!

According to myths and legends, there were some creatures that infested the world long ago, and they were considered the original Eldritch Monsters.

Or rather, it was one singular monster.

The Hive Mind.

So in the end, I spoke my mind.

"Are you the Hive Mind, per chance?"
