He breathed a sigh of relief.

Then he remembered: Zane Langdon had picked him up and brought him back to his house.

‘As for why my butt hurts so much… there must be some other reason, right?’

It was a two-story loft, four hundred square meters in size.

“The PR fees this time are as high as thirty million, and the other party clearly isn’t ready to let this die down! Why wouldn’t you let me be the one to go get him?” Sean Coleman’s voice was laced with fury.

“I’ll pay for it out of pocket. Don’t run it through the company,” Zane Langdon’s cool voice followed.

“Zane, have you ever considered what will happen if we can’t get this PR crisis under control?”

Jasper Rockwell strained to listen, but even after a long moment, he heard no reply from Zane Langdon.

He slowly walked down the stairs.

Sean Coleman was already fuming, and the sight of Jasper Rockwell was like pouring gasoline on a fire. When he saw the way Jasper was walking, he couldn’t stop himself from pointing a trembling finger at Zane Langdon.

“You… You two…” ‘What the hell is with the way he’s walking?!’

He could feel his blood pressure spiking.

‘Could it be that the whole thing with Melody Monroe hit Zane so hard that he… decided to just let it all go?’

‘Holy crap! I’m getting dizzy… I feel like I’m suffocating.’

Zane Langdon shot Sean Coleman a look. “It’s not what you think.”

Hearing the tone in Zane Langdon’s voice, Sean Coleman secretly breathed a sigh of relief. ‘Thank god, thank god. It’s not what I was thinking.’

“What’s wrong with us?” Jasper Rockwell looked completely baffled. “Zane, you were the one who brought me back yesterday, right? Thanks for that.”

“Sean, take him home.”

“I… I just woke up, and my head is still spinning. Can’t you let me rest a little longer? Also, why does my butt hurt so much?”

“You fell!”

“Oh.” Jasper Rockwell nodded, not questioning it in the slightest. “Just let me rest a little longer. And find me a change of clothes, I want to take a shower.”

Zane Langdon: …

Sean Coleman: ‘Why does this whole situation with these two feel so strange?’

‘You say there’s nothing going on? But the more I look, the more it damn well seems like there is.’

‘But if you say there *is* something going on? There’s no hard evidence!’

“Leave. Now. And in the future, whatever happens, don’t call me again.” From the looks of it, Zane Langdon didn’t want Jasper Rockwell to stay for a second longer.

Jasper Rockwell: …

Zane Langdon’s face was terrifyingly dark. It was as if he loathed Jasper to an extreme, with an intensity he’d never shown before.

‘I was hoping to talk to Zane, maybe even get him to start paying me a salary from now on,’ he thought. ‘But on second thought, isn’t that a little too shameless?’

‘I just follow him around and don’t do anything. Why would Zane spend money to hire me for that?’

“Master Rockwell, let me take you home first. Your place isn’t far, and you can get some proper rest once you’re back.” Seeing that Zane Langdon was truly furious, Sean Coleman decided to try his luck with Jasper.

“Okay.” Jasper Rockwell nodded.

‘When you’re the one asking for favors, you have no choice but to be spineless.’

“It’s a misunderstanding. Don’t say anything you shouldn’t,” Zane Langdon warned Sean Coleman before getting up and heading upstairs.

Jasper Rockwell was completely in the dark. But putting together the snippets of conversation he’d overheard from upstairs, he was certain something had happened to make Zane Langdon furious.

“Sean? Who pissed him off? Why is he so furious?”

“It’s nothing.” Reminded of Zane Langdon’s warning, Sean Coleman refused to say a single word to Jasper Rockwell about it.

‘Since it’s a misunderstanding, it’s best if Zane is the only one who knows. Besides, Master Rockwell is an outsider to the industry, and he’s a member of the Rockwell Family. It wouldn’t do for word of these things to get out. It would be a huge blow to the Rockwell Family’s reputation.’

‘Judging by the situation now, there’s really nothing going on between them.’

‘It’s just that Master Rockwell is too careless about his public image, and this time he’s dragged Zane down with him.’

“But I’m Zane’s personal assistant. If something’s wrong with him, why would he hide it from me?” Jasper Rockwell asked as they walked out, unwilling to drop the subject.
