Transmigrated as The Best Female Character of the Year
Chapter 448 - 446: Beaten Until He Can’t Take Care of Himself
Whenever she was with Evan Fairchild, she became terribly undisciplined.
Strangely enough, though, her weight hadn’t increased at all.
"I’m heading back to Rockwellburg the day after tomorrow for Rose’s engagement party. You don’t need to make a special trip out to Jansburg. Isn’t that too much of a hassle?"
"Do you know what’s truly a hassle?"
"What?"
"Not being able to see you. That’s the real hassle."
Melody Monroe: ...
Suddenly, she leaned in and gently brushed his lips with her own. Then she smacked her lips, savoring the taste.
"So sweet. No wonder you can say such sweet things."
Evan Fairchild suddenly stood up and loomed over her, a roguish charm playing on his lips. "Sweet, is it?"
He let her have her fill...
A few minutes later, he finally released her as she was on the verge of suffocating.
Melody Monroe snuggled into Evan Fairchild’s arms, gasping for breath.
Evan Fairchild picked up the cake from beside them, feeding her a bite before taking one himself.
The rocking chair swayed gently.
The sun was perfect today—brilliant and warm.
"Evan, I have a plan," Melody Monroe said suddenly.
"What kind of plan?"
"I’m thinking of taking the college entrance exam as a private candidate. The timing should be about right once I finish filming this movie. I want to get into Trillium University in Jansburg. It has the most renowned school of architecture in the country."
’Acting is my dream, of course,’ Melody Monroe thought, ’but I’ve decided to go back to my original field of study.’
’I chose architecture as my major before.’
’I’m Mrs. Fairchild, Evan Fairchild’s wife.’
’I can’t just think about making a bit of money anymore, like I used to.’
’I’ve always seen myself as an actor, not a star, but this industry is still one where you live off your youth.’
"Okay." Evan Fairchild nodded. "But if you want to get into Trillium University, you’ll need to score over 630."
"I know," Melody Monroe nodded.
’This world’s background is pretty similar to my original one,’ she thought.
’Even though I only scored a 596 to get into my university back then, I took on several part-time tutoring jobs in college, all coaching high school seniors.’
’Besides, this wasn’t a sudden whim. I’ve been thinking about it for a long time. I can’t choose where I come from, but I can change my destiny.’
’I’ve also secretly looked into the process for the college entrance exam here. There’s basically no difference from my original world.’
That was why she was so confident.
"Do you need me to find a tutor for you?" Evan Fairchild asked. He seemed to recall that his nephew, who was the same age as him, had stayed on to work at Trillium University. ’He’s probably a full professor by now,’ he mused.
"No need. I’m pretty confident," Melody Monroe said, shaking her head.
"Alright. It’s your call. Just let me know if you need anything."
...
On Saturday, Melody Monroe and Evan Fairchild returned to Rockwellburg together.
To Evan Fairchild’s displeasure, the two of them still didn’t take the same flight, even though their departure and arrival times were identical.
Melody Monroe returned with Talia Mercer and Winter Kane.
Evan Fairchild was alone.
Keith Coleman, on the other hand, was in a much more miserable state. His face was bruised and swollen, both of his arms were broken and set in plaster casts, and he was still laid up in Caleb White’s private hospital.
And his injuries were just awkward.
They weren’t life-threatening, but they were incredibly inconvenient!
Plus, with casts like these, he was looking at two months of recovery at least. He could barely even get dressed!
’President Fairchild must have done this on purpose.’
’He beat me so badly I can’t even take care of myself! What a bloody, tear-filled lesson this is!’
Caleb White pushed open the door to the hospital room. He looked at Keith Coleman on the bed, adjusted his glasses, and a flicker of amusement crossed his face.
"Dr. White, you’re just in time. Can I leave in this condition?"
