Transmigrated as The Best Female Character of the Year
Chapter 435 - 433: An Unexpected Surprise
"What happened then?" Zane Langdon asked. He hadn’t seen this project on any of the announcements.
"I looked into it. It’s a female-led drama with no male lead. The three main male roles are for the early, middle, and late stages of the story, respectively. None of them are present from beginning to end! I didn’t think it was suitable, so I turned it down directly."
"This is a Starfall Investments drama, isn’t it?" Zane Langdon asked again.
Sean Coleman nodded. "Yes, it is."
"Since it’s a company-funded project, why wasn’t it given priority? I’ve always believed that acting is about choosing a suitable role, not just about being the lead or a supporting character."
"Zane, you’re doing this for Melody Monroe, aren’t you?" Sean Coleman said, cutting straight to the point.
"Don’t worry. I won’t let my personal feelings affect my work. Besides, I already know that Melody Monroe has someone she likes."
"Zane, if that’s the case, why don’t you keep your distance? That way, you won’t get hurt."
"Contact Director Walsh again. This matter is settled."
"Fine! I’ll listen to you on this. But on the matter of the friendly match, can you listen to me? Don’t go, okay?"
"No," Zane Langdon refused point-blank.
...
Melody Monroe had been cooped up at home for days. Evan Fairchild had only said he was owed a wedding night, but he never mentioned that this "wedding night" could last for several days!
Finally, Keith Coleman called her. He said that a location for the studio had been chosen. Moreover, the previous tenant was a company in the same industry, so the renovations were quite new and it could be used immediately.
Melody Monroe quickly drove to the address Keith Coleman had sent her.
It was a high-end office building, and their studio was on the twenty-first floor.
Melody Monroe arrived on the twenty-first floor. She turned left out of the elevator and found the place Keith Coleman had described. The original sign had already been taken down.
Stepping inside, she saw a beautifully decorated lobby with a desk, perfect for a receptionist.
Farther in was a long worktable. Opposite it were two restrooms and a breakroom, which also contained a small dining area.
On the other side of the worktable was the main office area, with about a dozen workstations.
Even farther back, a staircase led up to a second floor.
The second floor housed a private office and a conference room.
After finishing her tour, Melody Monroe was very satisfied.
"Melody, here is your schedule for the next month. You’re about to start work, and it’s going to be very busy!"
Melody Monroe flipped through the documents Keith Coleman handed her, a little surprised. "Why are there so many?"
"There were probably some other collaboration offers before, but Rose Shaw suppressed them all. She likely knew you were going to terminate your contract with Stellaris. I’ve gone through these current offers and selected the best ones. You’re probably going to need two assistants."
Melody Monroe thought of Winter Kane and Talia Mercer.
"Melody! Did you miss us?!"
Hearing the voice, Melody Monroe snapped her head up and saw Winter Kane and Talia Mercer walking toward her, one after the other.
"You... How did you guys get here?"
"We’ve already left Stellaris. We just finished handing over our work, so now we’re both unemployed. Please take us in!"
A wave of emotion washed over Melody Monroe. She walked over and hugged Talia Mercer. "Thank you. It’s so wonderful that you’re here!" She truly hadn’t expected them to come.
"From the moment you decided to terminate your contract, we had already made up our minds to follow you. We just didn’t tell you because we wanted it to be a surprise."
