Aylin kept her hand on Jiang’s left shoulder while the first signature repeated.

The contact was physical, current, and scoped to the route inspection. The church-bell interval beyond the registry carried no air movement, bronze vibration, or pressure against her palm.

Aylin placed the Chapter sixty-one incident clock, Conti’s sealed-footage index, and the Vatican containment logger beside it. None contained an audio recording of the bell. The logger did contain the same system interval attached to the lower inventory level while the footage export countdown ran.
