Train Survival: I Can Evolve Everything!

Chapter 815: Two Hundred and One Log Entries from the Instruments

  • Next Chapter

This damn place was far deeper than he had imagined.

The mech-soldiers continuously broke through layer after layer of obstacles, digging upward.

Ye Qiyan wasn't idle either.

Since this lowest level was guarded by a Level 10 Rock-Silk Puppet, there was no way it held nothing.

He released the Sky-Resonant Thunder Eagle and Red Tears to search together.

Soon enough, it was the Demon Raven that managed to track down the trail of Death's presence, uncovering a hidden secret research lab.

The things inside the lab weren't worth much, just a pile of messy instruments.

But if this level contained nothing else, then this pile of instruments, or rather, the records stored within them, should be the treasures that the Rock-Silk Puppet was guarding.

"Lisette, I'm counting on you."

Lisette walked up to the pile of instruments and reached out to touch them.

Streams of data light flashed through her eyes.

Various data surfaced before her vision.

[Common Module - Instrument Analysis]

She had gained another new module.

She drew electrical power and injected it in.

After Lisette pressed a few buttons on the control console, a decrypted encrypted log began playing from the instruments.

[Crackle--]

[Log One]

[Testing testing, can anyone hear me?]

[This is ___, finally, we've established the RUN Company. Although this is just a plan we came up with to keep the Boss alive, it's something we had to do.]

[We must always remember that the RUN Company doesn't exist for the native humans. It exists to resurrect the Boss and to take revenge on the leader of Abukado!]

...

[Log Two]

[Damn it, there's no end to this. Those bastards from Abukado really won't let us go, but they want me to become their lapdog? Not a chance! Do they really think I don't know the truth about that guy's talent?]

[But we can't keep going like this. We have to find a way to fight back, otherwise, we're bound to repeat the mistakes of the Celestial Realm organization.]

[...]

[Log Seventy-Two]

[Dammit! Why can't we still succeed? We've already thoroughly researched the Substitute Rights! I know, it's all Abukado's fault! Someone among them is blocking our resurrection process!]

[No, we can't keep this up. At this rate, forget resurrection, even we'll be found and killed by Abukado.]

[Log One Hundred Seventy-Seven]

[Excellent. Joel, the master of the Nation on Ships, is actually willing to help us. Although we'll have to pay with some research intel on the Substitute Rights, that's not a problem, as long as we can transfer over...]

[Log Two Hundred]

[The transfer... failed... I understand now. Abukado absolutely cannot tolerate the Boss's resurrection. So, we must abandon this place. But... no, the RUN Company has been built up to this level, it'd be too much of a loss to give up. Rather than that... why not just sell it off.]

[Log Two Hundred One]

[In the end, it was that woman from Utopia City who bought it. I thought Joel would bid the highest. Tsk tsk. But looking at it this way, those Homeward-bound Souls really have grown estranged from their Boss.]

[But I won't be like that. Boss, I'll take you away from here and find a place to continue resurrecting you!]

[After all, you're a top-tier Train Conductor, a super genius, someone who could even reach first place in the Lunar Heart Arena!]

[Final Log]

[This place is about to be buried. I'll leave the Rock-Silk Puppet here. Maybe one day, after I resurrect you, Boss, I'll come back here and let you know how much effort your little brother put into bringing you back.]

[And then I'll get the RUN Company back in our hands. I believe that day won't be too far away!]

After listening to these useful logs.

Although some of the information within was a bit vague.

At the very least, it was still of some use.

The true founder of the RUN Company was an existence who wanted to resurrect their Boss.

It seemed that things didn't go as the final log claimed, that they'd return here before long.

The resurrection had probably failed.

"First place at Lunar Heart Level? What a coincidence, the current first place is me now."

Ye Qiyan packed up all these instruments and tossed them onto the trading platform.

These items weren't high-level; they were purely functional products of a scientific nature.

Tossing them onto the trading platform or the black market, each one would only fetch a dozen or so Train Coins, which could be considered quite cheap.

But the sheer quantity here made up for it.

All together, Ye Qiyan could still harvest over two hundred Train Coins from this.

Adding what he'd harvested from the previous station.

Currently, he held a total of over 1,800 Train Coins.

But that was still far from enough for the next train upgrade he wanted.

"And Utopia City, if I remember correctly, it's one of the twelve original cities. Its City Lord is a Homeward-bound Soul."

"So that means... the true controller behind the RUN Company is actually Utopia City?"

Ye Qiyan recalled his past exchanges with Russell.

That guy would occasionally use his chat interface with Ye Qiyan as a venting tree, even without Ye Qiyan responding, he'd talk about things Russell himself didn't dare to decide on, hoping Ye Qiyan would give him advice.

And from his words, Ye Qiyan really did learn quite a bit about that place, Utopia City.

Supposedly, it was an extremely peaceful, loving place where all humans and races would involuntarily put down their hatred and enjoy a wonderful life of stability the moment they entered.

But the more perfect it seemed, the more Ye Qiyan felt that a city named "Utopia" was definitely not as simple as it appeared on the surface.

Ye Qiyan made a mental note of Utopia City.

As expected, this RUN Company really was connected to Abukado.

And now, with Alice, the traitor of Abukado, coming here...

Ye Qiyan's eyes sharpened. He opened his friends list interface and found a name on it.

[Koleira of Abukado's Red Severance]

Back during the Wish War, in Dongbo City, she was one of the two Abukado moles he had developed through Salvation.

Compared to that other Hero who was overflowing with a sense of justice.

Koleira had delivered messages to him far more frequently.

["What is Abukado planning to do to the RUN Company recently?"]

["Huh? Lord Altos, how did you know? There are three others and me, we're heading to the RUN Company's headquarters. It's nothing special though, we're just here to attend a trading conference held by the RUN Company.

This company has quite a lot of stuff from low-level station worlds, and Abukado's leader told us to come here and buy whatever catches our eye.

Could it be that Lord Altos has discovered something? I'll go find a way to gather intelligence right away!"]

Abukado.

They really were coming.

Four people.

Judging by Koleira's strength, they shouldn't be able to cause much trouble.

Could it be... he was overthinking it?
