Chapter 1595: Chapter 322: Look at This Rod, It's Black and Long

  • Next Chapter

Before setting out, Lamias didn’t have a ground phone… In such high-intensity battles, any electronic products carried are likely to be scrapped, so finding a fixed phone was considered quite good.

Even though the phone in front of her was an old rotary dial relic—Lamias didn’t hesitate to pick up the receiver, pressing it against her neck, then slid her finger into the dial.

Several seconds later… tens of seconds later… a minute later, Lamias suddenly put the receiver back, walked away with a cold face.

The phone was functional, had signal, clearly capable of calling the outside world.

But Lamias discovered a shocking fact—that after getting used to modern smartphones, she didn’t have the habit of memorizing phone numbers… except her own.

“The school is not far from here, at most half an hour’s drive.”

“That woman named Eve, her surgical skills are unexpectedly superb, but now the pain feels stronger, probably because the anesthesia has worn off.”

“The armor will take five hours to automatically repair, after five hours I can use the healing technique built into the armor to recover.”

“This mansion seems to be hiding secrets from the beginning, should I investigate thoroughly?”

Countless thoughts surfaced in Lamias’ mind—in the end, she decided to walk around the courtyard outside the mansion first—to see—since it was within the allowed activity range.

“Five hours later, the armor will be operational, when facing Eve, I won’t be as passive as now… I can also learn more about Eve and the depth of the mansion’s owner… hmm, what’s this?”

As night fell, having walked out of the big house and arrived at the courtyard outside, Lamias heard some singing… a woman’s voice singing.

But clearly, this wasn’t Eve’s voice—this moment immediately overturned Lamias’ theory that the big house was only inhabited by the mansion’s owner and Eve.

The voice came from the pavilion on the east side of the big house; Lamias took a few steps, looked up, and saw under the faint light, there seemed to be something sitting at the pavilion’s window.

A shadow, a square shadow… a pillow.

A pillow that could sing, and was singing, with big eyes, as if walking straight out of a cartoon—pillow!

Lamias immediately widened her eyes, even though she was in a Non-Human world, accustomed to all kinds of strange things, upon seeing a pillow with hands, feet, eyes, mouth, and could even sing, she couldn’t help but feel amazed.

Magic Creature—she could only infer in this direction.

Magicians are a group of quirky people; they use magic to create many magic dolls for service… Lamias mostly saw stone-like magic dolls before, commonly known as gargoyles, which most magicians loved to create as servants.

But a pillow… a singing pillow, this was her first time encountering one.

Lamias sensed this pillow had a fundamental difference from those stiff, low-intelligence gargoyle magic dolls… just as she planned to approach this pillow further, wanting to study carefully, the pillow at the pavilion window seemed to notice something.

A glance down, then a blink, the pillow creature suddenly jumped inside, drew the curtains, and then the light inside the pavilion went out.

Lamias opened her mouth in surprise, then shook her head… but in her heart, she felt more apprehensive towards the mansion’s owner who could create such a spiritual pillow magic doll.

Don’t be fooled by the mansion owner who looked merely in their twenties, it’s very likely their true age had reached hundreds—magicians are a group who maintain youth through secret potions.

“He said he just moved over in recent weeks… what’s the purpose after all.”

“Could it be someone from The Magician Association?”

With increasing doubts in Lamias’ heart, after careful consideration, she felt if she didn’t clarify the mansion owner’s origins, it might bring enormous uncertainty to her future plans in the town.

…

Luo Qiu, reading a book in the study, suddenly heard a sound.

That was the sound of the window being hit by someone with stones… Luo Qiu walked to the balcony, pulled open the window door, and saw Lamias in the courtyard looking up at him.

The stone-throwing way of calling people had a somewhat childlike simplicity from the last century; Luo Qiu leaned against the balcony rail, curiously asked, “Is there something you need?”

“You said not to come up,” Lamias shrugged, “Your big house is so quiet, I thought you preferred tranquility, so I could only choose this method… After all, so many rooms, only this one looked like it’s occupied.”

He was on the balcony, she was in the courtyard, she looked up, and he looked down, the night was bleak, the temperature in the suburbs was lower than in town, so water mist condensed in the air.

The scent of green grass pervaded around.

Luo Qiu found this way of conversing quite interesting, so he smiled and said, “What do you want from me, Ms. Lamias?”

“Let’s get to the point.” Having simulated multiple conversations with this young mansion owner, Lamias finally settled on a plan, only then threw stones, “I want to know why you know about the Reversed Holy Relic.”

“Because I have some special intelligence channels,” Luo Qiu casually said—it was just these intelligence required a price, exchanged with life… time.

Of course, now he didn’t need to worry about the intelligence consumption—after all, it wasn’t related to the major secrets of all sub-worlds and dimensional gaps.

Sure enough!

Lamias was shocked inside, even certain about some things, so she continued looking up, asking, “Are you from The Magician Association?”

“No.”

“No?” Lamias furrowed her brows, pondered for a moment, then asked, “Did you come here for that thing?”

She was probing… that thing—whether the person knew or not, this kind of expression could always arouse the person’s interest.

That thing—anyone would be curious about such an expression.

—Hey, do you know about that thing?

—What thing?

Just so.

“I don’t know what Ms. Lamias refers to by that thing,” Luo Qiu curiously asked, his gaze emitting a hint of interest.

Lamias suddenly said, “What do you think of this town?”

“This is a pretty good place,” Boss Luo casually said, “Peaceful, harmonious, friendly… It’s a place that’s very suitable for a vacation.”

“What else?” Lamias blinked and probed step by step, “You’re right, it’s like a Peach Blossom Spring, you hardly ever feel any evil arising here. Even if sometimes there are instances of fights, it’s merely due to the curiosity and mischievousness of the youth, but essentially, they are not bad.”

Boss Luo smiled and said, “What do you want to say?”

Lamias said seriously, “Do you know about Prayer Aggregators—you must know since you even understand Reversed Holy Relics.”

“So?”

Lamias slowly said, “The probability of generating Prayer Aggregators in this small town is far greater than anywhere else — even close to the headquarters of the Holy Church… Doesn’t this make you suspicious?”

“Oh… You mean the way this town can transform people into Prayer Aggregators?”

“It’s a method to create Prayer Aggregators,” Lamias smiled, “Or perhaps there is something that makes people born here purer than those born elsewhere, that makes residents pure in thought.”

“Perhaps it’s just the simple lifestyle of the people here,” Boss Luo said casually.

“University,” Lamias said calmly, “The university students are not native to the town, they almost all come from other places. Yet, after graduation, these people can still become Prayer Aggregators, although the likelihood is relatively lower—because they leave here after graduating.”

“Miss Lamias, you said just now, get straight to the point.”

“We suspect, no…” Lamias said suddenly in a low voice, “We speculate that within the town, there is something constantly transforming or nurturing the souls of humans living in the town so they can become Prayer Aggregators or approach this standard, and this thing is likely a… Holy Relic!”

“I am not particularly interested in Holy Relics at the moment,” Boss Luo shook his head, “If I were interested, your pendant might not be returned so quickly.”

Upon hearing this, Lamias complained a bit—how could this guy talk about such rogue behavior so openly?

“But I am interested,” Lamias directly said, “So, I would like to ask you to help me obtain the object that can transform the souls of the residents of this town.”

Boss Luo said, “Miss Lamias, why are you certain I can help you… Also, you said ‘we’ just now, why not seek help from your companions?”

“There are naturally some special reasons,” Lamias said calmly, “This matter must be completed independently by me—the rules do not say I cannot seek outside aid.”

“I’m rather easy for you to subjugate,” Boss Luo shook his head.

“It’s not necessarily you taking action personally,” Lamias naturally didn’t believe his nonsense, “You can have your servant take action, I can sense that the maid named Eve has extraordinary abilities. Rest assured, I won’t let you exert effort without reward… The world is vast, there must be something you are interested in.”

“I admit,” Boss Luo nodded, “At the moment, there indeed are things I’m still interested in.”

“Tell me,” Lamias straightforwardly said, “I can give you something even a Magician wouldn’t refuse.”

“Such as?”

Lamias suddenly said, “How do you see me—I mean, how do you see me compared to Non-Human?”

“With all due respect, Miss Lamias, you are just an ordinary person,” Boss Luo calmly said, “Neither mentally nor physically have you exceeded the scope of ordinary people.”

She didn’t seem to mind at all, nodded and said, “That’s right, I am indeed a genuine ordinary mortal, but… watch closely.”

As she said, Lamias slowly squatted down in front of Boss Luo and pressed her palm against the soil.

She made no movements, but at this moment, a faint circle of light suddenly appeared on the soil… Within the light circle, a few flashes intertwined like lightning, and after a moment, Lamias withdrew her hand.

However, at this time, she held a black stick in her hand, about twenty centimeters long, half a finger thick.

“Extract the iron element from the soil…?” Boss Luo thought to himself, “Your spiritual power is not high, evidently not superpower, but being able to manipulate metal is an interesting ability.”

Faced with the mysterious Lamias, Boss Luo suddenly extended his palm.

A small black stick suddenly extended from the soil, then grew rapidly, instantly reaching the terrace of the floor where he stood.

Luo Qiu flicked this black stick lightly, immediately producing a metallic sound, he shook his head, “It’s not difficult… and not yet making me interested.”

Lamias’s rather proud expression instantly became stiff… She opened her mouth but couldn’t manage to say anything.

So frustrating!

But immediately, a blazing light burst in her eyes—that was indeed a remarkable mansion’s owner!

She suddenly laughed, “No, this is not the ability to control metal… this is Alchemy! What you saw just now was the ability of Transmutation! The basic principle is equivalent exchange. Drawing a Transmutation array allows one to create anything through Transmutation! I transmuted this iron stick, just a demonstration; actually, I can transmute other things.”

As she said this, Lamias clasped her hands again and pressed them on the soil, this time a stone pillar appeared… about a foot high.

Boss Luo knew about Alchemy… how could he not? The maid’s body itself is the crystallization of Alchemy.

However, the Alchemy Lamias demonstrated seemed somewhat different from the Alchemy of this world—the key point being she had no Magic Power.

So, this was a completely different concept from the world’s Alchemy, yet the function was the same—and it allows an ordinary person to use it.

“Very interesting.” Boss Luo nodded at this moment.

This wasn’t a capability that should exist in this number 003 Sub-world… much like Nan Xiao Nan’s Star Creation Technique for creating Star Creation Creatures.

– Can’t believe you won’t take the bait!

Lamias smiled slightly at this time—this Transmutation ability, but it comes from another world!

This surely couldn’t help but surprise people? Even those skilled magicians couldn’t ignore such a capability defying the existing system!

Lamias didn’t forget the shock of the high-levels of the Association when they witnessed such divine-like Transmutation capability—from the body of that Alien!

“I can help you.” Boss Luo smiled at this moment, “But it’s just assistance, not necessarily successful, the cost is you explaining this Alchemy to me… How’s that?”

“Fine.” This was still within Lamias’s expectations, she nodded, feeling very satisfied.

Of course, transmitting wasn’t a problem… But could he learn it, she didn’t guarantee at first, right?
