Chapter 1592: Chapter 319: No Future

  • Next Chapter

At this moment.

Vasco hurried back to Father Stretta’s side, confronting the mysterious woman in the air.

Father Stretta said it’s best not to use divine power, but he didn’t believe it. He released a little divine power outside his body, but it was instantly invaded by something cold, scaring him into quickly withdrawing the power.

Reversed Holy Relic, Fallen Power… If the Black Religious Congregation really mastered these forbidden forces, the future might indeed bring terrifying disasters to the Holy Church.

“Do you want to experience my Iron Fist?” Unexpectedly, Father Stretta shook his head: “I won’t fight you.”

The mysterious woman was curious at once: “What, the Iron Fist Stretta, are you afraid?”

Father Stretta glared and said: “Kid, I’m afraid my fist would shock you! Although you have Transcendent abilities, you’re essentially still just an ordinary person. The armor on your body should be the new masterpiece of the Black Religious Congregation, right? If it exceeds its limit, you’ll die.”

Vasco opened his mouth, looking helplessly at Father Stretta beside him… Here it comes, the old bastard!

“Then let Warden Stretta check properly if my body is really that fragile…” The mysterious woman suddenly dove down, “… huh!”

“Vasco, get the church followers out, don’t let my fist wind hurt them!” Father Stretta roared at this moment, then jabbed upward!

A dive, a leg thrust, the two instantly collided in mid-air, seven or eight meters from the ground.

The fierce wind pressure instantly sent sand and gravel flying around, Vasco cursed the old bastard Stretta but rushed into the church.

These followers were likely used by the mysterious woman of the Black Religious Congregation to create chaos or disperse focus… If she suddenly ambushed an innocent follower during the battle, it would indeed cause considerable trouble for their side.

BOOM, BOOM, BOOM—!!

Just as Vasco continued rescuing those erratic followers, Father Stretta and the mysterious woman had already clashed dozens of times, the thunderous sound resounding throughout the church, deafening.

“Father! Though you’re still managing the church, we know you’ve left the Holy Church! Why not join us? Your heart no longer holds faith, why not overthrow that high, hypocritical rule!”

“No way, your Black Religious Congregation can’t compete with the Holy Church, no future, only a fool would go!” Father Stretta said as he charged violently again.

The sound was loud, and as Vasco heard it while rescuing people, he almost fell to the ground.

He chuckled bitterly and shook his head. Back in the day, he and Stretta were contemporaries, both should have been the most outstanding Holy Knights of the Sacred Temple, but truthfully, Stretta’s mouth alone could make the Holy Church’s reputation plummet, which was why he was stuffed into Shenwei Prison.

The mysterious woman then stopped speaking, concentrating on dealing with Father Stretta’s fists… She was secretly astonished, under the Reversed Holy Relic’s Field of Corruption, Father Stretta’s divine power was not only unaffected but grew stronger, showing signs of breaking through the Field of Corruption!

Her thoughts raced, but at this moment, the dark curtain enveloping the entire church was suddenly breached from the outside!

Like a punctured balloon, the dark curtain instantly vanished… The mysterious woman was shocked—this dark curtain wasn’t broken by Father Stretta but by an external force!

In this small town, besides Father Stretta and Vasco, is there another strong figure from the Unhuman Domain?

The mysterious woman suddenly leaped back, exiting the battle with Father Stretta, swiftly glancing around but seeing nothing suspicious, she muttered quietly: “The adjustment time is about right…”

She thought about it, then smiled slightly, looking at Father Stretta who was preparing to pursue her, she said aloud: “Father, I will come again, please reconsider my invitation to you…”

Before she finished speaking, the spot where Father Stretta stood was instantly empty, and in the next moment, an iron fist appeared before the mysterious woman, smashing harshly onto her abdomen’s armor!

“Damn, I knew your kind’s tricks!” Father Stretta snorted coldly: “I have seen it all when I was roaming in the past! Want to leave without compensating for the damage to my church? Over my dead body!”

The mysterious woman was struck to the ground, spewing blood, which trickled from a corner of her mask… Her abdomen’s armor wasn’t broken, but her internal organs were obviously injured.

Yet, she endured the pain of her internal injuries and directly took out the Reversed Holy Relic, intending to restart the Field of Corruption—but at this moment, a burly figure appeared before her.

Vasco.

“Really… thanks for the care just now, little girl from the congregation!”

The Field of Corruption hadn’t started yet, and Vasco was no longer affected by the Fallen Power. At this moment, the power of his divine force seemed not much weaker than Father Stretta’s!

BOOM—!!

A punch crashed down!

The church courtyard at that moment felt like a volcanic eruption, spraying dirt ten meters high, the ground trembled violently!

Not long after, as the dust cleared somewhat, Father Stretta came over with dust all over him, looking displeased.

Vasco stood before a huge pit, frowning… Inside the pit, apparently, there was no corpse of the mysterious woman.

The armor worn by the woman from the Black Religious Congregation could withstand his fist, naturally not breaking from Vasco’s punch.

After all, Vasco’s strength is well-known by Father Stretta.

“Vasco, I seriously suspect you’re a Double-Crosser sent by the Black Religious Congregation!” Father Stretta scolded: “Making such a loud noise without actually hurting anyone, don’t you know what that means? You’re clearly creating an opportunity for the enemy to escape! Quickly, how much did the Black Religious Congregation pay you!”

“If we weren’t old friends, I’d have Atang shoved up your rear, you old bastard!” Vasco glared, gripped his sleeves, readying for a brawl.

Father Stretta was taken aback, then exclaimed: “Oh no! Atang!! Where’s my Atang?!”

He ignored Vasco, hurriedly searching for his golden cat Atang in the tattered church.

Vasco looked helplessly, though curiously scanning the surroundings… Who exactly broke the initial Field of Corruption? But there was no trace of any other strong Unhuman presence.

“Old bastard, I’ll scout the area! I’ll have someone clean up the church later!”

Vasco said, pulling out his phone, calling the Holy Knight Reservists who accompanied him on this trip, and also walked out of the church, inspecting around it.

…

As Vasco left, among the followers he knocked out and casually piled in a corner, a bald-headed man suddenly opened his eyes—Mai Rada.

At that moment, beads of sweat visibly formed on his shiny forehead—startled by Stretta’s attack.

“Damn, the power of this priest!”

Mai Rada couldn’t help comparing in his mind, even if he wasn’t sealed from his power, it seemed difficult to take a punch from the priest!

Whether Vasco, the mysterious woman, or Father Stretta… And the old mage in the town, why are there so many strong figures hidden in this town!

When did the power of the present Unhuman become so flourishing, you might think this was the Unhuman Domain!

Mai Rada pondered and felt like something was scratching him—he had been lying among a pile of people, daring not to move, afraid of being discovered, throughout which he hadn’t lost consciousness.

Mai Rada carefully shifted his head, adjusted his angle of sight, and finally discovered what was scratching him—Father Strala’s cat!

Didn’t Father Strala say he was going to look for Atang? Why did this silly cat end up here?

“Hiss! Hsss—! Hssss!!”

Mai Rada decided to shoo Atang away.

But Atang paid no attention, directly climbed onto Mai Rada’s face, then gently lifted his hind legs, and a little chrysanthemum was slowly blooming in front of Mai Rada’s eyes.

He widened his eyes and held his breath… stunned!

…

…

“Atang! Atang!”

Father Strala was earnestly searching in the church’s backyard, seemingly indifferent to the fact that someone was standing there.

The person standing in the courtyard was Teacher Prin… Once Teacher Prin couldn’t help but cough twice, Father Strala finally came back to his senses, “Oh, thanks for earlier.”

“I just felt there was something here…” Teacher Prin shook his head, “You know, my hands are somewhat special.”

Father Strala smiled, “That’s the Field of Corruption created by the Reversed Holy Relic; even your hands can let it ‘die,’ this isn’t something merely special.”

Teacher Prin glanced at the priest, then suddenly found Father Strala’s disheveled appearance somewhat funny, and chuckled, “What’s causing you trouble?”

Father Strala responded casually, “Probably an old rival of my previous place’s boss, but can’t gain momentum. You know, typically, if they can’t challenge, they vent on the smaller ones.”

Teacher Prin chuckled, “You’re not an easy ‘smaller one’ to deal with.”

Father Strala asked, “Have you seen my Atang?”

Teacher Prin replied, “Seems like there’s no issue here… I won’t disturb then. By the way, a friend of mine came here for a lesson today… Oh, if he doesn’t want you to notice, you probably wouldn’t.”

“Friend?” Father Strala frowned.

Teacher Prin’s statement made him ponder—the relationship between him and Teacher Prin was hard to define; they weren’t enemies, but not exactly friends either.

He arrived in the town first, managing the church, half a year later Teacher Prin showed up, wandering aimlessly like a lost ghost.

Before leaving, Teacher Prin suddenly said, “If Mai Rada gives you any trouble, just let him leave, I wouldn’t mind.”

“No problem, my back’s been bad lately, this big guy works hard, just has a big appetite… Wouldn’t mind if you pitch in for the food cost?”

Teacher Prin had already left.

The priest continued hunting for his Atang.

Suddenly, a furious voice came from the front yard… It was Mai Rada, “Lowly beast! You dare humiliate a great bloodline like me! I’ll kill you!!!”

Father Strala sighed and patted his shoulder, “Troublesome indeed… Hey, Rada, you should be kind to small animals, okay?”

Amidst the ruins of the church, a bald man was chasing a plump golden tabby… Father Strala shook his head, entered the ruins, and silently helped prop up the fallen cross.

“The holy remains have been reversed… can’t Holy Light shine here anymore.”

The priest murmured to himself.

…

A figure staggered through the forest—she relied entirely on trees for support to reach here—the mysterious woman who attacked the church and Father Strala.

Recalling the battle, she realized she’d been careless… mistakenly underestimated Father Strala’s divine cultivation, and the unknown force outside breaking the Field of Corruption was unexpected as well.

“Could it be the Clown Knight from the Knight Agency?”

But she quickly denied that thought, even though the Twelve Knights of the Knight Agency were powerful, easily breaking the Field of Corruption was unlikely—unless it was the most wicked and strongest knight in Britain’s history.

According to the information, that knight who escaped prison, should not be in the town.

At this moment, she suddenly halted—partly due to Father Strala’s punch breaking her internal organs despite armor, and partially intrigued by a mansion before her.

She sensed some familiarity with this mansion… supposedly abandoned, yet clearly inhabited now.

After leaving the town for some time, if someone moved in during her absence, it’s plausible… She struggled to move her body, currently needing a temporary place to heal and hide—escaping the church, she wasn’t sure Father Strala wouldn’t pursue.

“Not home?”

The woman reached the mansion’s entrance and found the iron gate ajar; however, it seemed eerily silent inside.

After pondering for a few seconds, she decided to infiltrate… the mansion wasn’t too big nor too small, an ideal hiding spot.

“Excuse me, is there anything I can help you with?”

A gentle voice unexpectedly came from behind her.

The sound caused her hair to stand—having heard nothing approaching, yet the voice instantly appeared—she swiftly turned around.

To her surprise, a black-haired young man holding two plastic bags stood there… visibly having just returned from shopping.

“Is this… your home?” The woman frowned.

The black-haired young man nodded and smiled, “Yes, moved in just a few weeks ago.”

“Oh, that’s…” The woman acknowledged, and a smile bloomed on her pale face, slowly approaching, “There’s one thing…”

In an instant, she lifted her skirt, swiftly pulling out something from beneath, and the next moment, the woman wielded a silver pistol, circled behind the young man, pressing the barrel against his back, “How about letting me stay here tonight? I’ll repay you well.”

Saying so, she nudged forward… using the gun.
