Tower of Origin: I Evolve All Rewards

Chapter 302: Impact Law

Chapter 302: Chapter 302: Impact Law

The first Star-Iron Sentinel’s remains did not vanish immediately.

Unlike ordinary Tower monsters that dissolved into light, the Sentinel collapsed into large metallic fragments, each carrying a faint vibration. Qin Mo warned everyone not to touch them casually.

"Impact residue," he said. "If you pick up the wrong fragment, your wrist may learn what regret feels like."

Qin Yuchen looked at his still-numb arm.

"It already has."

Qin Yuheng crouched near the cracked chest core.

A panel appeared.

[Star-Iron Force Storage Core Fragment]

[Grade: S]

[Effect:

Stores small amounts of impact force and releases it upon contact.]

[Use:

Forging, impact training, defensive arrays, heavy weapon enhancement.]

Useful.

But not enough.

The mission required 30 units of Star-Iron Vein Ore, three Sentinels defeated, and ultimately the Heart Metal from the Falling Star Iron Colossus.

Qin Yuheng collected the usable fragments. He did not evolve them immediately. This was important.

Primordial Origin Evolution could only affect each item once. If he enhanced small fragments too early, he might lose the chance to evolve a better consolidated material later.

He had learned patience from many floors.

Do not force spring.

Do not ripen fruit too early.

Do not finish a weapon before it survives impact.

Qin Mo noticed his restraint.

"You are not evolving them?"

"Not yet."

"Good. I was worried you would make one magnificent pebble."

Qin Lian scanned the ravine ahead.

"Second Sentinel is not alone."

The path descended into a basin where meteor fragments still smoked. Silver fire burned in cracks between stones. The ravine walls were covered in star-iron veins, but many were unstable. Every falling star impact caused ore to pulse, then release shockwaves.

Qin Mo marked safe paths using force-reading dust.

"Step only where I mark. If you step on a fresh impact vein, you may launch yourself into the sky."

Qin Yuchen asked, "Has that happened?"

"To my dignity? Often."

They moved carefully.

The Command Weapon Embryo continued to tremble faintly. Qin Yuheng allowed it to resonate through a narrow seal. It was learning the ravine’s impact rhythm, but he kept the resonance below danger levels.

Halfway through the basin, a meteor fell.

Qin Lian saw the trajectory first.

"Impact zone!"

Qin Yuheng’s command field pulsed.

Move left. Low ground. Brace.

They reached a ridge just as the meteor struck the basin center.

The explosion was not fire.

It was force.

A circular shockwave flattened stone spikes, shattered weak ore veins, and sent silver dust into the air. Even behind the ridge, Qin Yuheng felt the impact push against his chest.

The Command Weapon Embryo shook violently.

A warning appeared.

[Command Weapon Embryo exposed to high impact resonance.]

[Stability:

92% → 84%]

[Warning:

Repeated uncontrolled resonance may damage embryo foundation.]

Qin Yuheng’s eyes narrowed.

The mission had warned them.

Prevent Command Weapon Embryo damage.

The embryo needed tempering, but too much impact would crack it.

Just like Qin Yuze’s second talent.

Readiness mattered.

Qin Yuheng reduced the resonance channel.

The embryo stabilized.

Qin Mo wiped dust from his face.

"Good news: fresh meteor ore. Bad news: everything hates us."

The meteor had exposed a vein of star-iron.

They collected ore carefully.

[Star-Iron Vein Ore obtained: 17 / 30 units]

Then the second Sentinel arrived.

No.

Two Sentinels.

One emerged from the left cliff, another from the basin crater. The first held a giant star-iron hammer. The second had arms shaped like shields.

[Star-Iron Hammer Sentinel]

[Level Equivalent: 69]

[Special Ability:

Stored Impact Hammerfall]

[Star-Iron Shield Sentinel]

[Level Equivalent: 69]

[Special Ability:

Force Rebound Barrier]

Qin Mo stared.

"They have classes now."

Qin Yuheng’s expression remained calm.

"Separate them."

The Hammer Sentinel advanced with heavy steps, each hammer swing storing crater-force. The Shield Sentinel positioned itself behind, projecting a rebound barrier that could reflect long-range attacks.

Together, they were worse than the first.

If Qin Yuheng attacked the hammer user, the shield reflected force. If he attacked the shield, the hammer punished him.

This was a formation battle.

The Tower was forcing him to combine direct combat with tactical command.

Good.

He needed this.

"Yuchen, hold hammer but do not block directly. Lian, search shield core. Mo, prepare impact sink again but wider. I will break their link."

Qin Yuchen moved immediately.

The Hammer Sentinel swung. Qin Yuchen did not block. He slid along the impact path, using angled footwork learned from siege battle. The hammer struck ground, and shockwaves burst outward.

Qin Yuchen coughed blood from residual force but held position.

Qin Lian attacked the Shield Sentinel from behind, but the rebound barrier curved around its body. Her dagger bounced back, slicing her sleeve.

"Barrier full-body," she reported.

Qin Mo threw a formation needle. It bounced back and nearly hit him.

"I hate good defense when it is not ours."

Qin Yuheng activated Siege Beast Weakness Eye Lens, obtained from Floor 131’s enhanced chest. Though designed for siege beasts, its logic applied to large enemy structures.

A faint line appeared in his vision.

The two Sentinels were connected by an impact exchange thread.

The Hammer Sentinel generated stored impact.

The Shield Sentinel reflected and redistributed it.

Break the thread.

He moved.

The Hammer Sentinel swung at Qin Yuchen again. Qin Yuheng crossed behind the shockwave using Void Thunder Shadow Step, then slashed at the invisible exchange thread between the two giants.

The sword bounced.

Not enough.

He needed a tool that cut command-like links.

He took out a small resonance from the Beast Command Node Severing Array Blueprint—not the full array, but a quick severing pattern Qin Mo had extracted after Floor 131.

"Mo!"

Qin Mo understood immediately.

"Mark the thread!"

Qin Yuheng struck again, this time placing thunder sparks along the invisible link.

Qin Mo activated the severing pattern.

The thread flickered.

Qin Lian saw the opening.

She cut.

The Hammer and Shield Sentinels froze for half a breath.

That was all they needed.

Qin Yuchen led the Hammer Sentinel into an impact sink zone. Qin Mo activated the anchors. The hammer strike grounded into the basin, trapping the giant’s weapon.

Qin Yuheng attacked the Shield Sentinel’s exposed back core.

The rebound barrier tried to activate.

But without the exchange thread, its rhythm lagged.

Qin Yuheng struck at an angle, then again with compressed thunder.

The Shield Sentinel’s core cracked and burst.

[Star-Iron Sentinel defeated: 2 / 3]

The Hammer Sentinel tore its weapon free and roared silently, body glowing red-silver.

It entered overload.

Qin Yuchen shouted, "It is storing too much impact!"

Qin Mo’s face changed.

"If it releases here, the ore vein collapses!"

They needed to kill it quickly without triggering explosion.

Qin Yuheng stepped forward.

He drew out a small portion of the Command Weapon Embryo’s resonance.

The embryo hummed.

The Hammer Sentinel turned toward it.

As expected.

The weapon embryo attracted impact-law constructs.

Qin Yuheng used himself as bait.

The Hammer Sentinel charged.

At the final moment, Qin Yuheng sealed the embryo resonance and stepped aside. Qin Lian cut the ankle seam. Qin Yuchen struck the knee. Qin Mo placed a force-dispersal seal on the hammer.

The giant fell.

Qin Yuheng landed on its chest and drove his sword through the core.

Instead of exploding, the stored force sank into the dispersal seal and spread harmlessly into the ravine.

[Star-Iron Sentinel defeated: 3 / 3]

[Sub-Mission Complete:

Defeat 3 Star-Iron Sentinels.]

The ground quieted.

The team breathed heavily.

Qin Yuheng collected the second and third cores.

[Star-Iron Vein Ore obtained: 31 / 30]

[Sub-Mission Complete:

Collect 30 units of Star-Iron Vein Ore.]

Two sub-missions complete.

But deeper in the ravine, the falling stars stopped.

The silence was heavier than thunder.

A massive hand rose from the darkness ahead and gripped the ravine wall.

The Falling Star Iron Colossus began to climb.
