Chapter 301: Star-Iron Giant Ravine
Chapter 301: Chapter 301: Star-Iron Giant Ravine
Floor 132 opened beneath a sky of falling stars.
The stars were not distant lights.
They fell.
One after another, silver-blue meteors tore through the black clouds above the ravine and crashed into cliffs of dark metal. Each impact sent sparks across the canyon walls and caused the ground beneath Qin Yuheng’s feet to tremble.
The ravine stretched endlessly forward, its walls rising like blades forged by ancient gods. Metallic veins ran through the stone, glowing faintly whenever a falling star struck nearby. The air smelled of iron, lightning, dust, and something heavier—impact.
Qin Mo looked up just as a meteor split into three pieces and struck a ridge several hundred meters away.
He slowly lowered his head.
"I miss the siege plain."
Qin Yuchen tightened his grip on his weapon.
"That was yesterday."
"I can miss things quickly."
Qin Lian crouched and touched the ground. Her fingers came away dusted with silver-black powder.
"The entire ravine conducts force," she said. "Not only lightning. Impact."
Qin Yuheng felt it too.
Every step sent a faint vibration back through his bones. The ravine was not merely made of metal. It remembered collisions. It stored force, reflected force, and released force through hidden veins.
The mission panel appeared.
[Floor 132: Star-Iron Giant Ravine]
[Duration:
1 Tower day]
[Main Mission]
Cross Star-Iron Giant Ravine and obtain the Heart Metal from the Falling Star Iron Colossus.
[Sub-Missions]
1. Defeat 3 Star-Iron Sentinels.
2. Collect 30 units of Star-Iron Vein Ore.
3. Prevent Command Weapon Embryo damage.
4. Survive Falling Star Impact Zones.
5. Defeat the Falling Star Iron Colossus.
6. Preserve at least 70% of collected rare metal essence.
[Warning]
A weapon strong enough to carry command must survive impact before meaning.]
Qin Mo read the panel twice.
"Prevent Command Weapon Embryo damage? The Tower knows we brought it."
Qin Yuheng did not seem surprised.
The Command Weapon Embryo rested inside his hidden inventory. It was not yet a complete weapon. Tie Zhenshan had forged its foundation from rare command-path materials: Primordial Sunless Command Alloy, Truth-Piercing Oath Spear Fragment, Wall-Breaking Spear Fragment, Remnant Captain’s Spear Badge, Silent Spear Memory Fragment, and the Sovereign Unbound Martial Echo Crystal.
It recognized Qin Yuheng’s current command path, not his bloodline.
That was important.
A weapon tied to bloodline too early would become a door.
A weapon tied to choice, command, and self-ownership could grow with him safely.
Now the Tower had brought him to a ravine where impact itself was law.
A weapon strong enough to carry command had to survive impact.
Qin Yuheng understood.
This floor was not merely material gathering.
It was tempering.
He took out the sealed weapon embryo.
It was still shapeless, more like a dark spear-sword core than a finished blade. When it entered the ravine air, it trembled faintly.
The star-iron veins in the canyon walls answered.
A low metallic hum spread through the ground.
Qin Mo immediately stepped back.
"That sounds like either compatibility or a disaster."
Qin Yuheng studied the embryo carefully.
The weapon did not crack.
Good.
But it was being pressured.
The ravine wanted to test whether it could bear heavy impact resonance.
Qin Yuheng resealed it, but not fully. He allowed a narrow connection so it could absorb floor resonance slowly without being overwhelmed.
Qin Lian pointed toward the lower canyon.
"Movement."
A giant stepped out from behind a cliff.
It was at least fifteen meters tall. Its body was made of dark star-iron plates, with glowing meteor cracks across its shoulders and chest. Its head was helmet-shaped, without a face, but a single silver core burned in the center.
Each step struck the ground like a forge hammer.
[Star-Iron Sentinel]
[Level Equivalent: 68]
[Type:
Metal giant / impact-law construct]
[Abilities:
- Impact Reflection
- Star-Iron Body
- Meteor Fist
- Force Storage Core]
Qin Yuchen’s expression became serious.
"Impact Reflection."
Qin Mo groaned.
"Of course hitting it hurts us."
The Sentinel turned toward them.
Its chest core pulsed once.
Then it charged.
For something so huge, it moved with frightening momentum. It did not sprint like a beast. It fell forward with controlled weight, each step multiplying stored force.
Qin Yuheng raised his hand.
"Do not meet it head-on."
Qin Yuchen angled right. Qin Lian vanished left. Qin Mo deployed three force-reading needles into the ground. Qin Yuheng stepped forward, but not directly in the Sentinel’s path.
The first punch came down like a meteor.
Qin Yuheng avoided by half a body width.
The fist struck the ravine floor.
A shockwave exploded outward.
Even without being hit, Qin Yuheng felt his organs shake.
Qin Mo’s needles shattered.
"I disliked that information!"
Qin Lian appeared behind the Sentinel and struck a joint seam with her dagger.
The blade sparked.
Her body was thrown backward by reflected force, but she twisted midair and landed safely.
"Joints reflect less," she said. "Still dangerous."
Qin Yuchen attacked the left knee with controlled force rather than full strength. The impact returned through his weapon, making his arm numb.
The Sentinel turned.
Qin Yuheng observed.
The force storage core in its chest brightened after each impact. It stored both its own strikes and attacks received. If they kept hitting blindly, it would become stronger.
This was not a beast to overpower quickly.
It required rhythm control.
He activated War Formation Insight.
The battlefield slowed in his perception.
Every footstep of the Sentinel sent force through the ground. Every punch fed its chest core. Every reflected strike returned along predictable angles.
"Mo," Qin Yuheng said, "can you ground impact?"
Qin Mo looked offended by the concept.
"With what? A polite request?"
"Formation."
"Maybe. If you make it punch the same area three times."
Qin Yuheng nodded.
"Prepare."
Qin Mo’s eyes widened.
"That was not confidence. That was panic theory!"
But he still moved.
Qin Yuheng stepped into the Sentinel’s attention and released controlled thunder aura. The giant’s head locked onto him.
It punched.
Qin Yuheng dodged.
First impact.
Qin Mo placed an anchor.
The Sentinel punched again.
Qin Yuheng used Void Thunder Shadow Step and left an afterimage. The fist crushed the same zone.
Second impact.
Qin Mo placed the second anchor, face pale.
The third punch came faster.
The Sentinel had learned.
It changed direction mid-strike, aiming not at the ground but at Qin Yuheng’s escape path.
Qin Yuheng’s eyes sharpened.
He could dodge farther, but then Qin Mo’s formation failed.
He chose to endure partially.
The punch grazed his shoulder as he shifted aside.
Pain exploded through his body.
His Primordial Thunder Emperor Body resisted, but impact law was different from lightning. It sank into bone and muscle, trying to shake his internal foundation loose.
Qin Yuheng swallowed blood.
The fist struck the marked area.
Third impact.
Qin Mo slammed both palms into the ground.
"Impact Sink Formation!"
The three anchors lit up. Instead of rebounding outward, the stored force from the three strikes sank into the ravine floor and trapped the Sentinel’s right arm for one breath.
"Now!"
Qin Lian cut the shoulder seam.
Qin Yuchen struck the knee joint.
Qin Yuheng advanced.
He did not use thunder.
He used compressed physical force, directing it into the chest core at an oblique angle rather than straight impact.
The core cracked.
The Sentinel staggered.
Its reflection ability weakened.
Qin Yuheng struck again.
This time, thunder entered through the crack and exploded inward.
The Sentinel’s body froze.
Then collapsed into star-iron fragments.
[Star-Iron Sentinel defeated: 1 / 3]
[Star-Iron Vein Ore obtained: 8 units]
[Impact Law Fragment Trace detected.]
Qin Mo sat down immediately.
"I need everyone to appreciate that I invented a formation while almost being flattened."
Qin Yuchen flexed his numbed arm.
"Appreciated."
Qin Lian nodded.
Qin Yuheng looked at the fallen fragments.
The Command Weapon Embryo pulsed inside his inventory.
It wanted something from the Sentinel.
Qin Yuheng collected the core fragments carefully.
Not enough for the final weapon.
But a beginning.
The ravine trembled again.
Far deeper within, something much larger moved.
The Falling Star Iron Colossus had sensed the first Sentinel’s fall.
